In Shi Village, Li Qinghu and Li Tianqi were playing with Hei Ding in the training grounds. Nearby, Li Yunqing's doppelganger watched over them.
Li Yunqing had informed the village chief about the doppelganger, but he didn’t concern himself with whether the chief had shared this information with the villagers. The doppelganger possessed intelligence and strength, making it an excellent guardian for Li Qinghu and Li Tianqi. It could also share real-time visuals of what it observed, although Li Yunqing had the choice to view them or not.
In the initial days, Li Yunqing did watch, worried that his daughter might struggle with his absence. However, he soon realized he was overthinking it. With a doppelganger that looked just like him accompanying them every day, they hardly missed him. Once he confirmed everything was fine, he stopped watching.
Li Qinghu welcomed the presence of Li Yunqing's doppelganger, as she had received so much love from her father since birth that there was never enough to go around. Moreover, since Li Yunqing often went out to play with Zhong Li, he didn’t have much time to spend with them.
Strangely enough, despite their mother’s presence, they seemed to prefer their father, even though he often wasn’t around. Now that Li Yunqing could be with her, even if just through a doppelganger, Li Qinghu felt very happy.
Li Tianqi felt similarly; having his father around motivated him to train harder. Li Yunqing never restricted their training time; they could practice as much as they wanted. However, Shi Lin Hu worried about their bodies handling such intense training and made sure they only trained until evening before sending them home.
Since Li Yunqing’s doppelganger was there to supervise, Shi Lin Hu no longer felt the need to oversee Li Tianqi and Li Qinghu’s training. In Shi Lin Hu’s eyes, Li Yunqing’s cultivation level was far superior to his own, so there was no need for him to provide guidance—even if it was just a doppelganger.
As a result, every day, Li Tianqi and Li Qinghu trained late into the night, often until dawn. Afterward, they would lie down on the training ground to rest while the doppelganger ensured they were comfortable and helped them recover their bodies.
By the next day, they would be in perfect condition again and ready to continue their training. In the world of children, there weren’t many distractions; for Li Tianqi and Li Qinghu, training was their greatest joy. The feeling of making progress every day captivated them immensely.
Li Qinghu set down Hei Ding and wiped the sweat from his forehead as he gazed out towards the outskirts of Shi Village. Lately, he had noticed many Wild Beasts running out; he couldn't help but wonder how his father and the others were faring.
Li Qinghu knew that Li Yunqing and the others had ventured deep into the wilderness, and these Wild Beasts must be related to their presence, right?
Li Tianqi also paused in his efforts against Hei Ding. His strength was growing, and Hei Ding was beginning to show signs of cracking. Fortunately, Li Yunqing's doppelganger would promptly repair and reinforce Hei Ding.
Li Tianqi washed the wound on his shoulder with clean water. As he splashed water onto it, only blood was washed away, but the wound itself remained unseen. His father was powerful; he would surely be fine. These Wild Beasts must have been driven out by him, right?
At least, that’s what he hoped. He longed to join his father in adventure!
Meanwhile, Li Yunqing and Zhong Li had delved even deeper into the vast wilderness. Although the Wild Beasts had grown somewhat stronger, they were still manageable for Zhong Li, who could handle them without needing Li Yunqing's assistance.
The wilderness was expansive; compared to Teyvat, it covered several times its area. As Li Yunqing and Zhong Li moved forward, they relied on Li Yunqing's magic to keep up their pace; otherwise, Zhong Li’s speed would mean they could travel for days without covering much ground.
In contrast, the Wild Beasts were massive; each stride covered dozens or even hundreds of meters, allowing them to move much faster.
