Simba approached Li Tian Ci, lowering his head to nuzzle against him.
"Thank you, Tian Ci. You've given me a new lease on life!"
Li Tian Ci felt Simba's furry coat and found the nuzzle quite pleasant.
"Well, when I encountered the higher regions and you mentioned wanting to reach the Second Layer, I immediately thought of you."
Simba nodded. As a lion, he indeed desired greater strength and aimed for even higher realms. Perhaps this was the ambition of a lion—to continually grow stronger.
"Tian Ci, can you let me down?"
"Sure, what do you want to do?"
Li Tian Ci listened to Simba's words with some confusion.
"The growth of monsters is different from that of you humans from other worlds. Monsters can only continuously absorb essence to enhance themselves. The more essence a monster absorbs, the more it possesses within itself. Monsters with the ability to devour can consume other monsters to accelerate their growth."
After Simba finished speaking, Li Tian Ci understood that Simba had the ability to absorb and devour.
"Then let me send you down."
A massive Transmission Array appeared in an open area nearby. This was the Transmission Array that Sky Island provided, transporting them to the central city—the very city where Li Yunqing and the others had just arrived at the Second Layer.
Li Tian Ci and Simba stepped into the Transmission Array and then vanished.
Li Yunqing glanced over but said nothing.
Simba was a lion king; even though he was only at level thirty—slightly lower than some other monsters—his strength far surpassed that of ordinary monsters.
Li Tian Ci thought that if he wanted to play with Simba, then they would play.
After a while, Sera and Feng emerged from the house.
"Honey, we've finished cleaning up," Sera said with a smile as she walked over to Li Yunqing.
Li Yunqing nodded and sat up.
Tian Ci and Simba had been playing, so they probably wouldn’t come for dinner today. Let’s go out and have some fun too.
Alright then!
Tian Ci often went out to play, and when mealtime came, he wouldn’t be around. So, Sera had prepared a lot of food for him, all stored in Tian Ci’s ring. Whenever he got hungry, he could just take it out to eat; after all, the items in the ring didn’t spoil over time and remained warm.
Li Yunqing took Sera and Feng's hands and disappeared from their spot. When they reappeared, they found themselves in a place filled with stars.
Following a small path, they arrived at a circular clearing where there was a table and two wooden stools. On the table were two cups, two plates, and two candles.
Li Yunqing led Sera and Feng to the table and sat down.
There are only two seats, so Feng can sit with me.
Sera gestured for Feng to sit on the other side, and Li Yunqing followed suit. As the two settled down, a quilt flew up into the sky, catching the starlight from above. Once it was full, it floated back down in front of them.
Though it appeared black, it was actually a vibrant mix of colors. It resembled a starry sky; the black represented the universe while the colors in between were emitted by various stars.
Two beams of light painted across the sky and landed on their plates. Three dumpling-like items appeared.
What is this?
Little Sky.
Li Yunqing picked up his drink and gestured to Sera. She also lifted her cup, clinking it against his. The two exchanged smiles before taking a sip.
Suddenly, their hair began to change.
It became colorful, shimmering with stars. It could even change colors!
Li Yunqing smiled and took a small piece of green sky, feeding it to Sera. The taste was a bit strange, but not bad at all. Sera also took a piece and fed it to Li Yunqing. After he ate it, he confirmed that the flavor was indeed peculiar.
"Honey, your eyes have changed color!" Sera exclaimed.
Li Yunqing's eyes had transformed into a spectrum of colors, sparkling like stars.
"Yours have too," he replied.
Li Yunqing picked up a small mirror, and Sera looked at her reflection. Her hair and eyes were both vibrant with colors. Although it looked a bit odd at first glance, upon closer inspection, it was quite beautiful.
