In the afternoon, Tanjirou woke up.
Looking around, he realized he was in a house. He gently shook Nezuko to wake her up.
"Nezuko, wake up."
"Hmm?"
Nezuko rubbed her eyes and sat up, first glancing at her brother and then surveying the surroundings.
"Brother, where are we?"
"This should be the place that the Demon Slayer Corps member mentioned—Urin Taki's residence," Tanjirou explained to Nezuko about how they were rescued by Taki Sakonji.
"Let's go outside. I saw some people practicing swordsmanship here earlier."
"Okay."
Tanjirou led Nezuko to the door, opened it, and looked out into the courtyard. There was only a handsome man sitting at a table, drinking tea and reading a book.
Li Yunqing noticed the door of the wooden house open and looked over, smiling at Tanjirou and Nezuko.
"Awake? Come over and sit for a while."
"Sure."
Tanjirou and Nezuko nervously took their seats at the table.
Li Yunqing poured them each a cup of tea.
"Drink up."
"Thank you."
Tanjirou and Nezuko accepted the tea with both hands, observing its clarity before taking a sip. It felt as if their bodies were washed over by a stream of water.
"How amazing!"
Tanjirou set down his cup and looked at Li Yunqing. After pouring the tea, Li Yunqing left them to their own devices.
Tanjirou hesitated as he looked at Li Yunqing, wondering if it was inappropriate to disturb him while he was reading.
"Just say what you need to," Li Yunqing replied, sensing Tanjirou's hesitation.
Hearing this, Tanjirou relaxed a bit. "Are you here to learn swordsmanship as well?"
"No, my wife is here to learn swordsmanship," Li Yunqing said without lifting his head.
Tanjirou thought for a moment and recalled seeing two women practicing swordsmanship earlier that day.
"You must be Tanjirou Kamado, right?"
"Do you know me?" Tanjirou asked, surprised as he looked at Li Yunqing.
Li Yunqing nodded. "I saw you when you were selling charcoal. Your family is the only one living on that mountain, making it easy for demons to attack."
"Really? I’ve never encountered a demon despite living there all this time," Tanjirou said skeptically.
Li Yunqing smiled as he looked at Tanjirou. "Do you remember when your hometown lost a city?"
"I heard about it. Apparently, wild beasts invaded the city and scared everyone away."
"Do you believe that?"
"Of course," Tanjirou began to respond but paused as he noticed Li Yunqing had just spoken.
He glanced over at Nezuko. She was quietly listening to her brother talk with the man and didn’t interrupt; she simply nodded when Tanjirou looked her way.
"So, that ghost came from our house to that city?" Tanjirou asked, a hint of disbelief in his voice.
Li Yunqing glanced at Tanjirou and Nezuko, noting that they weren't too foolish. "Well, I passed by your house and saw a ghost trying to attack. I just chased it away."
"Couldn't your brother handle it?" Tanjirou's concern grew as he realized that the ghost might return to his home.
Li Yunqing shook his head. "He's not my match."
"Then why didn't you kill it?"
