Li Yunqing poured some tea for them and sat down, saying, "Ming Shu possesses an immense amount of life force. When the life force becomes too dense, it can give rise to spirits."
"Spirits?" Sera asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"That's right. The spirits born in each realm of Ming Shu are different, but most of them are fairies."
"Fairies? Are they the ones with pointy ears, looking beautiful and dressed revealingly?"
Li Yunqing glanced at Sera. "Aside from the part about their revealing attire, you got everything else right. But where did you see them dressed like that?"
"Huh? Isn't that so? I’ve seen fairies in the computer games, and they all seem to wear quite revealing outfits!"
Li Yunqing looked at Sera's innocent eyes and gently patted her head. "Those are just the imaginations of people with certain tastes. How could fairies possibly dress so provocatively?"
Sera gazed at the large tree nearby, a bit lost in thought.
Li Yunqing pulled Sera into her arms and gave her a kiss. "Well, whether this Ming Shu can give birth to spirits is uncertain, and even if it does, they might not necessarily be fairies."
"Mm-hmm!" Sera beamed happily at the kiss from Li Yunqing.
Mu Sen, having listened to their conversation, gradually regained his focus. "Sorry, the tree suddenly remembered something and wanted to discuss it with me."
"It's fine; it's just a part of the extraordinary process," Li Yunqing waved her hand dismissively.
Looking at the sky, she noted that it was nearly afternoon and they still hadn't had lunch. Although she no longer felt hunger, Li Yunqing still enjoyed eating.
It was already past noon, and they hadn't eaten yet. "Let's have a meal first," Li Yunqing suggested.
As soon as Sera and Lilu Lu heard that it was time to eat, their eyes lit up, and they obediently sat down at the table. Mu Sen, upon hearing Li Yunqing mention food, felt a pang of hunger; it had been decades since he last had a proper meal, and he was almost forgetting what it tasted like.
"Um, can I join you? I haven't eaten in years and would love to try some," he said.
"Of course! I've prepared plenty," Li Yunqing replied while arranging the dishes.
As Mu Sen took his seat, he noticed that Li Yunqing hadn't taken anything for himself yet. However, with a sweep of his hand across the table, a variety of colorful and aromatic dishes appeared before them.
Mu Sen crafted a pair of chopsticks and a wooden bowl for himself, swallowing hard as he looked at Li Yunqing.
Li Yunqing smiled back at him. "Go ahead and eat."
"Thank you," Mu Sen said, eagerly grabbing a piece of pork skin with his chopsticks and savoring it with a satisfied sound.
Without much conversation, they each began to taste the dishes one by one. Sera and Lilu Lu seemed more refined than usual, likely due to the presence of guests; their dining etiquette was much more elegant than when they were at home.
Seeing Mu Sen, who looked as if he hadn't eaten in ten years, they felt a twinge of sympathy. He really did resemble someone who hadn’t had a meal in ages.
Sera and Lilu Lu soon forgot about Mu Sen and focused on enjoying their favorite foods. Li Yunqing watched the three of them eat happily and chuckled softly to himself.
He poured himself a bowl of chicken soup and savored it slowly. Drinking soup was indeed a delightful experience.
