"Ah, I'm so full," Gu Qingqing said, patting her round belly and letting out a burp.
In contrast to Gu Qingqing's somewhat crude demeanor, Wan Hong and Shen Xin were much more elegant. They first took a sip of water to wash down their meal, then dabbed their mouths with napkins.
Li Yunqing had only eaten a bowl of Golden Fried Rice and was already finished, watching them eat. He noticed that even when beautiful girls were eating, they still looked stunning.
Stealing a glance at Gu Qingqing, who was still rubbing her belly, he thought to himself that her round stomach resembled that of someone three months pregnant.
Upon hearing Li Yunqing's comment, Gu Qingqing instinctively touched her belly. "Is it really that big?" she wondered aloud, looking at her own stomach before glancing at Shen Xin and Wan Hong's. Wan Hong's belly was slightly smaller since she hadn't eaten as much as Gu Qingqing.
Shen Xin's belly was about the same size as Gu Qingqing's. Shen Xin often spent long hours studying in the library and rarely exercised, which had already given her a bit of a belly. After eating so much, it had grown even larger.
"Shen Xin's belly is even bigger than mine! If I’m three months pregnant, then Shen Xin must be four months!" Gu Qingqing exclaimed.
Shen Xin touched her belly and then looked at Gu Qingqing's stomach. Noticing Li Yunqing’s gaze on her belly, she instinctively pulled it in and covered it with her jacket. "What are you looking at? A girl's belly shouldn't be stared at casually!"
Gu Qingqing, however, was undeterred. She squatted next to Shen Xin and rested her head against Shen Xin's stomach. "It feels just like when I pressed my head against my aunt's pregnant belly! But why does it sound a bit strange? Like a gurgling noise?"
Feeling Gu Qingqing’s head against her stomach, Shen Xin instinctively patted Gu Qingqing’s head, momentarily taken aback by her words. "Really? I’m not sure."
Li Yunqing pondered for a moment after hearing Gu Qingqing’s remark. "It’s probably just your stomach digesting after the meal. But it might not be digesting well; Shen Xin probably sits too much and has some digestive issues. You should take some digestive tablets."
Shen Xin nodded, smiling as she continued to pat Gu Qingqing’s head. "It feels just like being really pregnant."
Meanwhile, Wan Hong watched the two girls curiously and glanced at Li Yunqing, feeling as though no one was paying attention to her.
Wan Hong began to gather the dishes and took them to the kitchen to wash.
Li Yunqing heard the sound of the dishes being cleaned and realized it was Wan Hong. He called out, "Wan Hong, you don't need to clean up. I'll take care of it later."
"It's fine, I often wash dishes at home," she replied.
Wan Hong quickly tidied up the dishes and carried them into the kitchen, but they were quite heavy, so she couldn't carry them all at once.
Li Yunqing stood up and helped her with some of the dishes, then they both walked into the kitchen together. "These plates are pretty heavy; I'll help you."
"Mm-hmm," she nodded.
As the two entered the kitchen, Shen Xin and Gu Qingqing exchanged glances in the living room.
"Ah, the virtuous wife and good mother—Li Yunqing probably doesn't like this," Shen Xin remarked but did not follow them into the kitchen. After all, she felt a bit stuffed from eating and couldn't stand up easily, especially with a burden pressing against her belly.
Gu Qingqing leaned against Shen Xin's belly, eyes closed as she listened. Not seeing what was happening, she looked up when she heard Shen Xin's comment. "Hey? Where are Yun Qing Brother and Wan Hong?"
Shen Xin glanced at the puzzled Gu Qingqing and sighed. "Ah, Gu Qing is really young! They went to wash the dishes."
"Oh."
Gu Qingqing didn't think much of it; washing dishes was a normal thing to do, right?
Shen Xin looked at Gu Qingqing's expression and gently patted her head. "It seems this threat isn't as big as Wan Hong."
In the kitchen, Li Yunqing first used dish soap to wash the first batch of dishes while Wan Hong filled a basin with clean water for the second round.
Li Yunqing washed diligently and finished quickly. He then turned to see Wan Hong still carefully scrubbing away.
Although she was slow, her attention to detail made him refrain from urging her on; he simply watched her work. After a while, Wan Hong noticed that it had grown quiet and looked up to find Li Yunqing staring at her.
Wan Hong's face suddenly turned red, and she lowered her head, silently washing the dishes.
Li Yunqing looked at Wan Hong's blushing face and gently patted her head. "Don't be so shy. You're already an adult; being shy all the time isn't a good thing."
Feeling Li Yunqing's large hand rubbing through her hair and hearing his words, Wan Hong spoke softly.
