As the Snail Village Chief and Xiao Zhuzi walked side by side, the various Giant Snails greeted the Chief warmly, and he responded to each one with kindness. Before they knew it, they had arrived at the center of Snail Village, where a particularly striking building stood. 0

“Xiao Zhuzi, come on, we’re here! This is my home!” the Snail Village Chief said happily, gently pointing ahead with his soft antennae. 0

Following the direction indicated by the Chief's antennae, Xiao Zhuzi saw an oval-shaped house. It appeared to be constructed from countless thin branches woven together and covered with a thick layer of leaves and soil, giving it a sturdy appearance. Xiao Zhuzi was deeply captivated by the uniquely designed house; she curiously approached it to examine every detail and noticed that its surface had special textures and colors that almost blended into the surrounding environment. 0

“Wow, what a special house!” Xiao Zhuzi exclaimed. 0

“Haha, I designed and built this with great care!” the Snail Village Chief replied with a smile. 0

Then, the Snail Village Chief led Xiao Zhuzi through the front door of his home. Inside, they found his wife, Aunt Snail, who was busy cooking. When Aunt Snail turned around and saw Xiao Zhuzi, she looked shocked and turned to the Snail Village Chief. He quickly explained who Xiao Zhuzi was and mentioned that he would accompany her to Xian Cao Garden to find Dragonfly Elder later. 0

While the Snail Village Chief and Aunt Snail were talking, Xiao Zhuzi took the opportunity to observe the interior of their home. The living room, dining area, and kitchen were all connected, creating a spacious feel. The decor was simple yet warm. In one corner of the living room stood a desk piled high with books and documents, while the walls behind it were adorned with paintings that seemed to showcase the rich history and unique culture of Snail Village. Captivated by these artworks, Xiao Zhuzi leaned in closer to get a better look in the dim light. 0

At that moment, Aunt Snail called her over. Having learned about the situation from the Snail Village Chief, she warmly invited Xiao Zhuzi to sit down and poured her a glass of water. It was only then that Xiao Zhuzi realized how parched she was. Feeling a bit shy, she thanked Aunt Snail and drank the water in one go. 0

Aunt Snail quickly filled her glass again and then busied herself with preparations. She arranged for everyone to eat together while also preparing a room for Xiao Zhuzi to rest in before their night journey. 0

After enjoying some fresh fruits and vegetables that Aunt Snail had prepared for her, Xiao Zhuzi felt completely relaxed and let out a big yawn. Seeing how tired she was, Aunt Snail said tenderly, “Good child, you’ve been through so much today; you must be exhausted! Come on now, follow me to your room for a good rest; we have to set off tonight!” 0

With that, Aunt Snail led Xiao Zhuzi into a cozy little room. In one corner was a bed made of woven grass leaves that looked very comfortable. For a moment, Xiao Zhuzi couldn’t help but think of her own room back home and how her mother would tell her stories every night before bed. Her eyes welled up with tears as she fought back emotions but managed to turn to Aunt Snail with a grateful smile. “Thank you so much, Aunt Snail! I really like this room!” 0

The series of magical events and overwhelming experiences had left this little girl utterly exhausted. She lay down on the soft grass bed and fell into a deep sleep almost immediately. In her dreams, she seemed to return to her familiar home, feeling her mother’s warm embrace… 0

After an unknown amount of time had passed, Xiao Zhuzi was gently awakened by Aunt Snail’s soothing voice. Rubbing her eyes sleepily, she thought it must be time to set off. She quickly got up and followed Aunt Snail to the door where she spotted the already prepared Snail Village Chief. 0

He was carrying a huge pack filled with fresh fruits and vegetables that Aunt Snail had prepared along with corn and storable sweet potatoes. Behind him was a small cart made of branches pulled along by four wheels, topped with a soft layer of straw. 0

Xiao Zhuzi immediately noticed this little cart. Seeing her fixated on it, the Snail Village Chief cheerfully explained, “Xiao Zhuzi, it’ll take us at least two or three days to get from here to Xian Cao Garden. If you walk all that way alone as just a little girl, it would be too much! So your auntie and I modified our cargo cart for you. You can sit in it while I pull you along; it’ll be safe and comfortable!” 0

The thoughtful care from both the Snail Village Chief and Aunt Snail deeply moved Xiao Zhuzi. She turned around and hugged Aunt Snail tightly before running over to give the Snail Village Chief a big hug as well. 0

“Ahem!” The sudden embrace caught him off guard; he cleared his throat awkwardly and said, “Good child, no need to be so formal with us. Now hop in; we need to get going!” 0

Although it was dark all around them, Xiao Zhuzi could have sworn she saw the Chief’s face turn slightly red. Aunt Snail hurriedly reminded Xiao Zhuzi of a few things before she smiled and nodded in agreement while waving goodbye. 0

Once Xiao Zhuzi settled into the cart, the Snail Village Chief set off. They retraced their steps through the maze-like paths of Snail Village back up to solid ground. 0
