He Li Yan stared at me in disbelief. "What do you mean?"
"You can be with her openly if you get a divorce," I smiled at him. "Isn't that good?"
His expression darkened.
His aura was intimidating, and I guessed he must have done some illegal things in the past.
Otherwise, how could he have developed such a commanding presence?
He stepped closer, forcing me to retreat until there was nowhere left to go.
Then, without warning, he pushed me down onto the sofa.
His body was surprisingly hot.
I panicked and pushed against him. "What are you doing?!"
He grabbed my wrist and slowly pulled it away.
Then he pinned me against the sofa.
He narrowed his eyes as he looked at me.
Suddenly, a smirk appeared on his lips. "Li Li, you look really good when you're angry."
"You've been so lifeless this past year; it's just not interesting to see."
With that, he leaned in closer to me.
I was so close that I could almost feel his breath.
I started dating He Li Yan when we were in high school.
By the time we graduated from college, both our parents thought we were a good match, so they decided to arrange our marriage.
At that time, I was quite happy.
After all, He Li Yan was handsome and wealthy.
My life would surely be carefree and enjoyable.
In the beginning of our marriage, I was indeed very happy.
He Li Yan spoiled me like crazy.
But later, I discovered that He Li Yan was actually a notorious flirt.
He kept cheating on me but refused to divorce.
He said, "Wen Li, don't make a scene."
"Being Mrs. He is your good fortune."
"How many people want this position but can't get it?"
"I'm not someone you can't live without." He stared at me, his gaze as cold and sticky as a snake's. "You better behave."
He Li Yan truly kept his word.
With his high status, good looks, and wealth, he was never short of admirers.
He teased, "Li Li, are you happy?"
I looked at him and replied, "Yes."
He pinched my chin gently. "It's okay if you're not happy."
He smiled and added, "After all, you will always be my wife."
After He Li Yan left, Xu Jiasheng sent me a message.
"Did you bring him here?"
"Did he agree to the divorce?"
I glanced at the time.
It was half past eleven.
"Are you still awake?"
"I was waiting for your message."
I rubbed my temples.
"He came to discuss the divorce."
"But he didn't agree."
"The situation is a bit tricky; my dad is hard to deal with, and besides, He Li Yan doesn't want to let me go."
"This matter requires careful consideration."
Xu Jiasheng quickly replied to me.
"Don't worry, whether he can divorce you is not up to him."
I stared at the message for a long time, a slow smile creeping onto my lips.
Xu Jiasheng is a madman.
But I love him.
I met Xu Jiasheng abroad.
It was during that time when I was abandoned by He Li Yan in a bar in a foreign country.
I was drunkenly slumped over the bar when a few greasy men started eyeing me.
They intended to take advantage of the situation, but Xu Jiasheng happened to catch sight of them.
He beat those men to a pulp and then took me to a nearby hotel.
That night, consumed by desire, I recklessly approached Xu Jiasheng without a second thought.
To be honest, I was truly hurt by He Li Yan.
I had regarded him as my future husband, yet he treated me that way.
I even questioned if the problem lay with me.
That's why I acted so recklessly that night.
I even considered getting myself drunk and finding a man to soothe my wounded heart.
Xu Jiasheng was flustered by my advances, his face flushed.
"Sister..." he said softly, "please don't do this."
"I don't like this."
His words were infuriating.
"Fine." I turned to leave.
Xu Jiasheng grabbed my arm and pulled me into his embrace. "Sister, please don't go."
