"Brother, brother, wait for me!"
Zhuo Ya, already over two years old, with her golden hair styled into two little horn braids, hugged a solid-colored lamb that had not yet been weaned. She waddled after her older brothers who were playfully wrestling ahead of her.
Xiong Da walked leisurely beside her, with Xiao Si and Xiao Wu sitting on his back enjoying watermelon. Meanwhile, Xiao Liu Peter stood at a distance by the low fence, poking the calf with a stick while grinning widely.
The adults took advantage of the summer to renovate and expand the ranch that would support their livelihood, making it capable of accommodating more cattle and sheep.
Xu Weihua and Xu Weixia, at that troublesome age where they were often disliked by others, each held a military-green ball in their hands, equipped with a long stick and a large ring. As they hurried towards the dry toilet beside the cattle shed, Xu Weihua panted slightly and asked, "Do you think this will work?"
"It will definitely work!" Xu Weixia glanced at the hand grenade in his hand. "Did you forget what we saw on TV yesterday? It said that mosquitoes and flies love to lay eggs in dirty water and dung pits. If we blow up those insect eggs, there won't be any buzzing flies around!"
Xu Weihua thought for a moment and nodded seriously: "That makes sense!"
As they approached the dry toilet, Xu Li rushed in with a cigarette in his mouth and a handful of toilet paper. He quickly unloaded several pounds of fertilizer.
"Are you ready, Second Brother?"
"Yep! All set!"
The two chubby boys wore serious expressions as they pulled out the pins and tossed the little hand grenades into the dung pit of the dry toilet. They couldn't help but add sound effects: "Kaboom!"
With a plop-plop sound, the safety pins of the two hand grenades flew off as soon as they were thrown. The smoking grenades sank into the pit, and the boys took off running. Based on past experiences, they knew an explosion was imminent!
Xu Li, squatting down in the toilet, squinted his eyes in comfort as he exhaled smoke. Suddenly, he heard his younger brothers shout: "Kaboom!"
"Hand Grenade?" He thought it was just his imagination until two loud explosions made his hair stand on end. Forgetting to wipe himself, he jumped up with his rear end sticking out. Just as his head peeked out from the door of the dry toilet, he heard: "Boom! Crack! Bang!"
What a disaster!
Xu Li's head was struck hard by the collapsing beam of the dry toilet. He then felt his body sink as the entire wall facing south came crashing down on him, completely pinning him to the ground.
Suddenly, a loud explosion sent debris flying into the air, and with gravity pulling it down, some of it fell back into the latrine while others splattered everywhere. Xu Li inevitably got some on his head.
"Run!"
As soon as Xu Lao Er realized they were in trouble, he immediately grabbed his older brother and took off. In their haste, each brother grabbed one of San Mei's arms, ignoring the bleating little lamb, and dashed away with Little Sister in tow.
By the time the others heard the commotion and rushed over, Xu Li had just regained his composure. He pushed aside the rubble that had fallen on him, darkly fished out his oversized shorts, and several women who were cooking glanced at his agricultural cannon, their eyes widening in shock.
Andreev, holding a cigarette, took a couple of steps back. "Makarov, did you wipe yourself?"
"Shut up with your nonsense! Why don’t you find someone to clean this place up and rebuild? You’re all just sitting there."
Xu Li wiped his face and bald head with some toilet paper before heading to the water basin to wash himself off. He paid no mind to the women who were sneaking glances at him. After rinsing himself thoroughly inside and out, he finally darkened his expression and whistled.
A tall, strong pure black Don Horse trotted over. After mounting it, he immediately urged it toward Xiao Hei in the distance.
"Brother! My toes hurt! I don’t want to run!"
Zhuo Ya complained as the grass rubbed against his sore toes, protesting against being dragged along by his two brothers. Xu Weixia and Xu Weihua turned back to see the black dragon rapidly approaching with their father riding it.
Without hesitation, the brothers dropped Little Sister and sprinted ahead while calling for help: "Mom! Grandpa! Grandma!"
But all around them was just grassland; aside from a few wandering cows and sheep, there was no one in sight!
Well, not entirely true—Xiong Er was lying on the grass. Once Zhuo Ya climbed onto its back, it shook its head and wagged its tail, following closely behind the brothers: "Moo moo."
"Why are you running? Dad is coming!"
Zhuo Ya sat on Xiong Er's neck, grabbing its large round ears and turning to wave at their approaching father: "Dad!"
Guo Degang! Guo Degang! Guo Degang!
The black dragon reared up and neighed twice before blocking Xu Laoda and Xu Lao Er's path. Xu Li dismounted and walked over to his two frightened sons who were retreating in fear. He grabbed each of them by their ears and lifted them up: "Still running?"
"Dad! I’m scared! I won’t do it again!"
"Ouch! Ouch! Dad, don’t hit me!"
This time, Xu Li was genuinely angry; those two nearly got him into serious trouble!
"Do you dare do it again? Do you dare?"
"Oh, I can't take it anymore! I really can't!"
The two chubby little boys, covering their bright red bottoms that even had a hint of purple, with their round bellies sticking out, cried loudly. Zhuo Ya and Xiao Si Xiao Wu huddled on Xiong Da and Xiong Er's backs, too scared to make a sound.
Xiong Er wanted to offer some words of comfort but ended up becoming a punching bag instead. Xu Li picked up the Little Ones and then held onto Xiong Er's head and left front paw, executing a classic body slam that sent Xiong Er tumbling onto the grass.
Following that, two hefty slaps left Xiong Er looking utterly bewildered: "What the hell is going on? Did you not get enough beatings when you were little?"
With a whimper, Xiong Er covered his face with his paws, staying completely still. Once Xu Li got off him, he immediately rolled over and lay down, his eyes filled with helplessness as he looked at Xu Laoda and Xu Lao Er. "Little brothers, this time I can't help you!"
On their way back, Xu Li placed the Little Ones and Zhuo Ya back on Xiong Er's back before climbing on himself. He pointed at the two tearful boys, "You two walk home and learn your lesson."
The boys didn't dare say much; sniffling and covering their bottoms, they trudged home. Xu Li rode slowly behind them, occasionally nodding in greeting to some patrolling men.
"What's wrong, my dear grandsons?" Natasha asked as she sat on the sofa waiting for Xu Li and the children to return for dinner. Seeing her two precious grandsons coming back all sweaty and sniffling, her heart immediately ached for them. Xu Laoda pouted and said, "Wah!"
