Ivan sighed, "My two silly sisters were gluttons when they were young. While our parents weren't paying attention, they sneaked into the woods and ate some wild fruits, which ended up messing with their heads. Now their intelligence is about that of a child their age." 0

"Now that they're growing up, my parents are starting to worry about them finding good husbands. Since you’re from our village, could you help find a reliable young man? I can help set you up with your son-in-law." 0

After hearing this, Old Anton immediately thought of Xu Li. The Little Guy worked diligently, was honest and not very talkative, and lived alone without any burdens—wasn't he the perfect candidate? 0

But then again, wouldn’t that be unfair to him? 0

However, dragging things out with his own daughter and son-in-law wasn’t ideal either. His granddaughter was only three years old; she couldn’t grow up without a father! 0

After pondering for a while, he sighed again, pulled out a cigarette, handed one to Ivan, and lit one for himself as he began to smoke slowly. "There's a young man from Huaxia living in my house. He’s just over eighteen and stands about five foot nine. His face is fair and clean like a girl’s, and he’s quite slender. Other than working at the restaurant with me, he spends his time reading or watching TV at home. He always rushes to help Xie Liao Na with chores—a really good kid." 0

"Hua Xia people..." Ivan's eyes darted around as he took out his phone and called home. After some time of "uh-huh" and "ah," he hung up and patted Old Anton on the shoulder. "Treat me to lunch at your restaurant today, and have that Little Guy bring the dishes. I’ll take a look first." 0

Old Anton thought for a moment before nodding but then nervously added, "You can't bully him; he's a really good kid, and I like him. I was even planning to introduce him to Xie Liao Na's niece in two years." 0

"Hahaha! If that happens, he’d be my brother-in-law! How could I bully my brother-in-law?" Ivan chuckled as he patted Old Anton on the shoulder. They switched topics and reminisced about their past in the village until lunchtime arrived. They then headed to the restaurant with Old Anton and Katyusha. 0

However, they dropped Katyusha off halfway; otherwise, if Xu Li saw her, who knows what assumptions he might make! 0

"Hello! Here’s your caviar with Lava, roasted pig trotter, and German-style smoked sausage." Xu Li nervously set the dishes down and smiled at Ivan, who was staring at her intently. "Is there anything else you need, sir?" 0

Ivan thought for a moment before replying, "Another bottle of Count Blue Vodka." 0

"Sure thing, sir." 0

Xu Li took the tray to the counter and pointed at Ivan while saying a few words to the waiter before returning to the kitchen to continue her work. Once the vodka arrived, Ivan called Old Anton. 0

Old Anton sneaked into the restaurant and nodded at the surprised manager before whispering something in her ear. The manager looked puzzled but didn’t say anything; she just signaled to the waitstaff not to let Xu Li come back out. 0

"How's it going?" Old Anton asked nervously. 0

Ivan frowned slightly in scrutiny. "He seems too small; can he handle it?" 0

"Hey, don't underestimate him just because he's small; he's got a lot of strength, like a big donkey," Ivan remarked, somewhat skeptical. Old Anton, irritated, downed a shot of vodka and said, "Believe what you want. I’ll introduce him to you. If you’re still doubtful, then what can I say? I might even take out a loan for him. This kid is just right for Xie Liao Na, my niece." 0

"Fine, let’s see if he’s worth it!" Ivan replied while munching on smoked sausage. "But let me make this clear: I’ll be investigating him during this time. If anything goes wrong, you owe me three hundred thousand rubles. I’ll handle the others; my share can be ignored." 0

Old Anton felt relieved and enjoyed a hearty lunch with Ivan. Afterward, they returned to the police station, where Ivan asked Old Anton to wait in the office while he went to fetch someone. 0

Less than an hour later, he returned with a short, stocky man. Old Anton kicked the man and exclaimed, "Suka Blyat! Can’t you hold back a bit? Did you really have to beat him to death?" 0

The man glanced at his father-in-law and shrugged, "I didn’t know he was so weak. I regret it now." 0

"Just take him away," Ivan said as he lit a cigarette and escorted the two out of the police station. He then called a few of his younger brothers. Meanwhile, back at home, Lev kissed his wife and embraced her warmly. "Sorry for making you worry; it’s all my fault." 0

Old Anton was actually pleased with his son-in-law. Despite his hot temper and tendency to fight, he truly cared for his daughter—he would take her scolding without retaliation, only responding with a few words in defense. He was indeed a rare good man among the Slavs. 0

"Be careful from now on," he advised as he patted Lev on the head before drunkenly heading downstairs to catch a cab home. He recounted the day’s events to his wife, Xie Liao Na, who sighed softly, "At least Lev is back." 0

The elderly couple exchanged glances and sat silently in the living room. 0

Two months later, one afternoon, Ivan donned his police uniform complete with a gun and handcuffs and called out to Old Anton from the back kitchen into the dining area: "My parents are satisfied with that guy. Tonight, let him serve food up front while I report the owner for hiring child labor so we can get him fired." 0

Old Anton nodded thoughtfully before returning to work in the kitchen. Xu Li, who was preparing food, looked puzzled and asked, "What’s wrong, Uncle? You don’t seem too happy. Is there something troubling you?" 0

"What could possibly trouble me? Stop overthinking things and just focus on your work," Old Anton replied as he patted Xu Li on the back before continuing his tasks. 0

Later that evening, a waitress came in and whispered something in his ear. He nodded and waved Xu Li over. 0

"Take this cream soup to the front; don’t dawdle around. Once you deliver it, hurry back," he instructed. 0

"Okay," Xu Li replied as he carried the cream soup into the dining area. 0

"Goodbye, Uncle Andong!" Xu Li waved reluctantly at Old Anton as he walked away with the soup. Just fifty meters later, he felt a sharp pain at the back of his head and lost consciousness as three burly men shoved him into an old vehicle. 0

After a bumpy journey, he got off the car with a feeling of unease. That night, inexplicably, he was made the Langguan by his father-in-law, who pressed local specialties against his head. However, his wife was truly charming! 0
