By navigating through the woods, they entered the territory of their village. Zhuo Ya was driving Anna's matte black SUV, with Xu Lei in the co-driver's seat. In the back were Xu Haigui, Xu Jia, and Jiang Xin. Irina was behind the wheel of Eva's warrior black SUV, struggling a bit with her short legs, but she managed well enough. Liu Ke and Li Yanhong were discussing the village's situation, while Xu Jiaguo sat in the co-driver's seat playing on his phone.
"Wow, your village looks amazing!"
Beneath the warm sunlight, a tranquil snow-covered village appeared before them. Liu Ke pulled out his phone and pressed it against the car window to start taking pictures. Li Yanhong and Wang Xinlin followed suit, snapping photos nonstop.
As the vehicle drove onto the village's only main road, identical wooden houses lined both sides, their exteriors painted in various colors. Zhuo Ya parked outside her own yard and was about to get out to open the gate when she saw Zhukov and his friends rushing out, shouting, "Help! Village Chief! Village Chief!"
Larryf felt a pang of regret; he realized he had been foolish to think about stealing from the Village Chief's house. A group of five or six young men sprinted towards the pasture, while Xiong Da and Xiong Er roared as they leisurely chased after them. Today, they were determined to teach these rascals a lesson for daring to steal Brother Da Hei and Big Black Brother's belongings!
"Wow!"
Xu Lei pointed at the fleeing Zhukov and Xiong Da, then turned to look at the calm Zhuo Ya. "Bears and tigers really are bears and tigers!"
"Oh, they're mine; they won't bite. They're probably just playing with Zhukov."
Zhuo Ya parked the car by the roadside. After everyone got out and stomped their feet to shake off the cold, Irina also parked and led them to the entrance. A bus and a delivery truck were parked by the roadside as well; makeup artists and a filming crew hired from within the country excitedly got out and began looking around.
"Dad, everyone has arrived; they're right at our doorstep. Can you send someone to greet them?"
Xu Li, who was preparing ingredients in the kitchen, responded with an "Mm," then walked to the kitchen door and waved at Aleksei, who was smoking outside. "We have guests; take a few people to drive over. They’re right at my yard."
The Village Chief nodded and called over seven or eight people. They hopped into their own vehicles or pickups and rushed towards the village. On their way, they encountered Zhukov and his friends yelling loudly. Seeing them clutching food bowls while being leisurely chased by a brown bear and a tiger made everyone laugh heartily.
"Hey, Zhuo Ya!"
Aleksei was just under six feet tall and had to tiptoe to hug Zhuo Ya, who towered at nearly six foot seven. This made him feel a bit embarrassed. After arranging for everyone to get into their cars, they headed towards the pasture. On the way, they ran into Zhukov again.
Aleksei rolled down his window and laughed, "Run faster! If you guys run slowly, Xiong Da will catch up with you! One slap from him could knock you out! Hahaha!"
"Quick! Call for the Village Chief! I can barely run anymore!"
Larryf stretched his tongue out long as if he wanted to say something more but ended up inhaling exhaust fumes instead. He turned around just in time to see Xiao Bai speeding up; without thinking twice about it, he bit down hard and sprinted away while mentally cursing Aleksei and his fellow countrymen.
Sitting in the co-driver's seat, Xu Lei looked on curiously. "Aren't they afraid of provoking the tiger?"
"It's just a small scene," Zhuo Ya replied casually as she steadied Fang Pan with one hand while reaching for a bottle of mixed drink from the center console. She opened it and took a sip. "They bring it upon themselves; when they were younger, they either got chased by Xiong Da or Da Hei. They've gotten used to it over the years."
She noticed that several of them were holding stainless steel bowls that looked like Da Hei’s food bowls—had these guys really come up empty-handed?
