"What’s going on?" Xu Weixia scratched his head in confusion, while Xu Li rolled his eyes. "You idiot, of course I’m asking if Angelina is pregnant, what else could it be?"
"No, we’re being careful. Dad, please don’t jump to conclusions!"
"Then why did you call? We just had a video chat yesterday."
Xu Li slurped a mouthful of noodles, and at that moment, Xu Weixia aimed the camera at the cheerful Emperor beside him. The next second: *cough cough*
Xu Weixia quickly stifled his laughter, pinching his thigh with his right hand as he frantically took screenshots. Just then, Xu Li had been so startled that noodles shot out of his nose, and now he was turning his head to blow his nose.
"Hello there, young man."
"Hello, hello."
Xu Li wiped his mouth and nose with his sleeve and picked up his phone in the office. The few guys in the cafeteria who were working overtime had already burst into laughter at his antics.
"I’m quite satisfied with this kid," Nikola said. "In a few days, I’d like my granddaughter to get the marriage certificate with him. As his father, I think it’s necessary to consult you."
Once in the office and closing the door, Xu Li quietly asked, "Your granddaughter is Angelina?"
"Yes, Uncle."
Angelina wiggled her little bottom and nudged Xu Weixia aside, pressing her small face against her grandfather's big face. She smiled brightly at Xu Li and asked, "Uncle, do you agree for me to be with Nikola?"
"Of course I agree."
Xu Li felt like he was floating; his son was really making something of himself by quietly becoming related to the Emperor. He would be quite impressive in the future!
After chatting with the Emperor for a while, Angelina introduced her family members one by one. After going around, she finally said, "Uncle, can you and Auntie come when Nikola and I get our certificate?"
"Absolutely! I’ll book the tickets right away."
Xu Li nodded happily and chatted for a bit before hanging up. He rushed out of the office to the cafeteria and clapped his hands. "Everyone has worked hard during this time; there isn’t much time left for fattening up the cattle and sheep."
"My son Nikola is going to get the marriage certificate with his girlfriend soon. I need to take Anna and Eva along. During my absence, everyone work hard!"
"Good job!" Makarov cheered.
Valery, who was on night shift, grinned widely and said, "Maybe next year you’ll be a grandfather!"
"Yeah, yeah!"
"Congratulations!" Makarov added.
Everyone sent their blessings to their boss and friend, Xu Li. With a cheerful demeanor, Xu Li made arrangements and then drove home.
The living room was lit up, and Xiong Da and Xiong Er were snoring in the corner. Dahua, who was curled up on the sofa like a small mountain, lifted his head to glance at Xu Li before ignoring him again. Xu Li happily changed into his slippers and headed straight for the study.
Before he even entered, he could hear the sound of shuffling cards and Daria's dissatisfied complaints from inside. It seemed that the girl had lost again, and by quite a bit.
