He took the gift box from Kamila's hands and led her into the luxurious mansion that ordinary people could hardly imagine. In the living room, Xu Weihua was sitting with his right calf wrapped in bandages and a splint, propped up on a stand. He was embracing Angelina, who was curled up on the sofa, scrolling through short videos on her phone. Both of them were dressed in thick bathrobes, clearly having stayed here since last night.
Ahem.
Xu Weihua coughed lightly to get their attention. Angelina looked up, holding a balloon string, and shyly hid behind Xu Weihua as Kamila entered. She happily ran to the door and placed her pair of slippers on the ground. "You finally made it, Kamila! Happy Birthday, Angelina!"
Kamila handed the balloon and gift box to Angelina before slipping into her slippers. Xu Weihua also passed flowers and a gift to the grinning Angelina and changed into his slippers before carefully sitting next to Xu Weixia. "What happened to your right leg?"
"Don't mention it; I got beaten up last night."
Xu Weixia pouted and pulled out a photo. "Here they are."
Xu Weihua glanced at the photo and then at his younger brother, looking bewildered. "When did you become such a fighter? These people look unrecognizable! Wow, you really went hard!"
"What do you mean?"
Xu Lao Er proudly huffed. "I let my father-in-law handle it."
He smugly threw an arm around his older brother's shoulder and patted his chest. "I told you before that I wanted to find a rich heiress. Haha, I didn't expect my luck to turn out this way!"
"You mean..."
Xu Weihua looked at Angelina, then took Kamila's hand and headed upstairs, raising an eyebrow. "Angelina can't really be..."
"Yes!"
Xu Weixia turned his head and shouted towards the kitchen, "Maria, could you pour me two glasses of watermelon juice?"
"Young Master, please wait a moment."
Soon, Maria and another nanny came in with a tray, placing the juice and some snacks on the coffee table before looking at Xu Weixia. "Young Master, do you need anything else?"
"No, thank you."
Maria nodded and returned to the kitchen with the other nanny. Xu Weihua remained completely bewildered as he saw his younger brother wearing a smug grin. He immediately guessed what was going on: "Did you hire actors? How dare you deceive me!"
Before Xu Lao Er could respond, Xu Weihua patted him on the back with concern. "You reckless spender! Do you know how much rent this mansion costs per day? And all these extras, plus juice and snacks? And there are colorful lights and balloons outside—can you afford all this?"
"I didn't hire any actors," Xu Lao Er pouted. "Why would I lie to you? Just for a bit of vanity? Who are we kidding here? We're not competing over that; we should be comparing who has kids first!"
"Does that mean you're going to get rich?"
Xu Weihua trembled with excitement, but Xu Weixia waved his hand dismissively. "What do you mean by getting rich? This is my father-in-law's success, not mine. Right now, I’m singing on shows and making over a million a month. That’s more than enough for me and Angelina to live comfortably. I’m not interested in anything else."
This was true; the two brothers were essentially lazy. They had enough money, minimal responsibilities, and preferred spending their time at home playing poker with their girlfriends rather than going out to earn more. This was the life they truly desired!
Ah, haha.
Alexander stretched as he walked downstairs, casually moving his neck. "Haven't taken a nap in a while. Oh, Oleg's here!"
