During dinner, Anna and Eva kept serving dishes to Zhuo Ya and Irina. Looking at her overflowing bowl, Irina repeatedly said, "That's enough, Auntie."
Eva kissed her on the cheek and said, "My Mom."
"Yes, Mama."
Irina felt a bit shy and murmured something. Eva happily pulled her into an embrace, showering her with kisses on the cheek. "When the holidays come, you can come home. Mama will prepare delicious food for you and take you horseback riding and hunting."
"Mm-hmm!"
The little girl nodded but suddenly burst into tears. After being comforted by Eva for a while, she wiped her tears and smiled as she continued eating. Xu Li sat quietly throughout the meal, carefully picking at the cold cucumber in front of him, looking like a wronged little wife.
Anna couldn't stand it any longer and served him some meat. "Eat more! There's nothing to be embarrassed about. What's done is done; you can't hide from it. Just accept it."
"I... I..."
He trembled as he put down his chopsticks, covering his face with a choked voice. "But I feel so sorry for you all..."
"Don't cry."
Anna gave him a light slap on the back. "You are my husband. If I say you did nothing wrong, then you did nothing wrong. Now eat."
"Oh..."
He wiped away his tears and took big bites of food. Zhuo Ya looked at the bear-like man beside her and couldn't help but smile at this cute side of him. However, when Anna shot her a glare, she immediately lowered her head to eat quietly.
"Dad, have some tea."
After dinner, Irina brought him a cup of jasmine tea. Xu Li was momentarily stunned but quickly reacted, taking the cup and giving her a little nudge on the nose. "Thank you."
Meanwhile, Zhuo Ya was still applying an egg mask to her face when she pulled Irina along to the Sauna Room. "Let's go steam in the sauna; you can give me a back rub."
"Okay!"
Irina happily grabbed Zhuo Ya's hand, and they went to the Sauna Room together. Xu Li was then taken back to the bedroom by Anna and Eva. The three of them lay on the bed talking for a long time, exchanging glances that eventually turned into long sighs.
Irina officially severed ties with her current family for a ridiculous sum of one hundred thousand rubles. Her stepfather counted the money with glee while her mother wiped away tears as she packed up Irina's things. Throughout this time, Zhuo Ya kept his arm around Irina's shoulders without saying a word.
A slightly worn-out suitcase was pushed in front of Irina by her mother. "If you need anything, just call me."
"Mm-hmm."
Irina hugged her mother tightly and whispered in her ear, "If he ever hits you again, just divorce him. I can take care of you."
Irina had grown up.
The mother and daughter embraced quietly for a while before they were escorted downstairs. Ivan had specifically sent two of his men, dressed in formal attire, to stand by the car. The man, who had originally been grinning, was taken aback for a moment. He suddenly felt that the cash in his hands was rather hot to the touch.
