Early in the morning, after bidding farewell to Brother-in-law, several idle women, armed with the one hundred thousand rubles given by Xu Li, took along more than ten young girls and set off to the market. They planned to purchase pots, bowls, and clothes, as well as other necessities for their future needs.
The rest of them donned old clothes from others and teamed up to carry wood—two by two for the smaller pieces and four for the larger ones. Their efficiency was no less than that of the men. The wood was dragged to open spaces to dry under the sun, while branches were trimmed along the way.

Andrei shook his head. "Your timeline is too tight; we definitely can't spare anyone right now. You could talk to our supervisor about bringing in another batch. We haven't taken on many big contracts this year; there are surely people available in Irkutsk."
"Alright then, enjoy your meal," Xu Li said, nodding before heading off to find more people. He needed a large workforce to construct houses first and then plant potatoes and other crops during the busy farming season ahead. There was much work to be done in the summer and autumn.
With funding secured, progress increased significantly. Three days later, another group from Shi Team arrived in the village. They brought their own tents and took a day to rest before starting to dismantle the old wooden houses that were uninhabited, while also expanding and renovating the original cellars.
Building dozens of wooden cabins at once was unrealistic, so Xu Li instructed them to tear down all the unoccupied ones and expand on the existing land for new cabins. Professional tasks were left to professionals; with Shi Team's arrival, Xu Li had freed up a lot of labor resources as they were assigned to agricultural work. After all, there were still vegetables and fruits needed for this winter that had yet to be secured.
During this busy time, he was exhausted every day and fell into bed as soon as he got home, leaving Zhuo Ya—who had been filled with joy—feeling quite gloomy for a while. The arrival of these women greatly alleviated the upcoming issue of insufficient manpower for feeding. Near the village at the ranch, a small slaughterhouse was built so that in the future, beef could be processed and sold rather than sold whole.
