Unexpectedly, the mother and her cub met under such circumstances. Little White did not recognize the Female Tiger; upon opening her eyes, she mistook Xu Li and the others for her parents. Glancing at the Female Tiger who had abandoned her, she tilted her head and began to cry for milk.
Soon, Eva prepared warm milk and filled a bottle, shoving it into Little White's mouth. She then approached Xu Li and asked, "How did this tiger get over the Low Fence?"
"Do you think a two-meter Low Fence is a challenge for a tiger?" Xu Li replied, patting her on the backside. "Go prepare breakfast. Fry a couple of extra eggs for Alexander. Little White has a spare bottle; give the other Tiger Cub a bottle too, and thaw some pork. This Female Tiger has probably been hungry for a while."
"Okay," Eva nodded and headed to the kitchen. Alexander attached an IV to the Tiger Cub and took the cigarette Xu Li offered him, lighting it up. "I may have given a slightly larger dose. As long as the Tiger Cub pulls through, some rest will do it good."
After chatting for a while, Anna stumbled into the living room with her messy hair, still half-asleep. Xu Li quickly covered Alexander's eyes, prompting Anna to notice there were others in the room. She hurriedly dropped her sleepwear and ran to the kitchen, feeling somewhat embarrassed.
"What are you doing?" Alexander complained, slapping Xu Li's large hand.
Xu Li chuckled mischievously, "If I had been any slower, you would have taken advantage of me."
"Ugh," Alexander rolled his eyes at him. Just then, Eva returned with two bottles of milk. She handed one to the sniffling Tiger Cub but was stopped by Alexander, who added some medicine powder to it. "That Tiger Cub has caught a cold too; adding some medicine will help Little Guy cope."
Xu Li held onto another bottle of milk tightly. Soon after, Anna brought breakfast into the living room while Eva carried in a pig leg. Since thawing took too long, she decided to boil it in a large pot for a while.
She tossed the roughly twenty-pound pig leg to the Female Tiger and sat down next to Xu Li to eat breakfast. The Female Tiger glanced at her sleepy cub and then at the humans enjoying their meal with laughter before starting to tear into the pig leg.
After finishing the IV drip, Alexander waited about an hour before checking the Tiger Cub's temperature again and nodded. "It's come down. You can go back to my place later to grab some more water and medicine. I left an IV in; it should be good for another four or five days."
"I'll come by around noon," Xu Li replied as he dressed.
Sitting in a chair, he locked eyes with the Female Tiger for a long time before picking up the well-fed Little White. He occasionally scratched its belly and chin. "This is your abandoned child; Little White was hardly bigger than a kitten when you left it behind. Look how lively it is now."
The Female Tiger seemed to understand something he said as she silently gazed at Little White. After a while, she slowly got up and approached Xu Li, licking Little White's belly while Xu Li took the opportunity to rub her large head. "Have you considered staying here? Little White is all alone; as its mother, you should teach it essential skills."
He sighed deeply. "Little White is a fierce tiger, not a domesticated silver gradient cat; otherwise, when it grows up, it'll be just as foolish as any house cat."
The Female Tiger continued to lick Little White, marking her scent on it. The previously fed Tiger Cub bounced over to her side, placing its front paws on Xu Li's leg and curiously examining Little White, who looked different in color from itself.
