Zhuo Ya turned on the bedside lamp and prepared warm water for her beloved to wash his feet. After gently cleaning his big toes, she helped him out of his outer clothes and pants, her cheeks flushed as she nudged him further into bed. Once she tucked him in, she gazed at his slightly tired face, her heart aching at the sight of his pursed lips. She turned off the lamp and pecked a kiss on his forehead before heading to the study, whispering, "Goodnight."
Without other siblings competing for her beloved's affection, the little girl was overjoyed. She spent her days close to him, enjoying delicious meals prepared by her mother when hungry and listening to her father sing and tell stories when tired. Life couldn't be happier.
Often nestled in Qi Qin's embrace, she would video call Xiao Lao Liu. When she saw her little brother frowning over his homework, she would tease him playfully, making him so angry that his eyes turned red.
However, no matter how wonderful life was, it couldn't last forever. Three days before school started, the little girl tearfully said goodbye to her mother as Xu Li took her to Big Uncle's house. Feeling downcast, she was soon caught by Xiao Lao Liu, who seized the opportunity to mock her.
Then the siblings got into a fight. Zhuo Ya pinned Xiao Lao Liu to the floor and gave him a good thrashing. The little girl was strong and hit hard, making Xiao Lao Liu cry out in distress.
With the children no longer around, the couple finally enjoyed some peace. During the day they filmed videos, and in the evenings after dinner, they gathered by the fireplace to read or sing together. Life was simple yet fulfilling.
Thanks to the diligent efforts of the breeding cows on the ranch, a significant number had successfully conceived, all progressing toward Xu Li's hopeful expectations. One morning, however, as he opened the door, he found himself staring into a pair of fierce eyes.
The Female Tiger growled softly as she set down a Little Tiger she had been carrying in her mouth and stepped aside a few paces. Xu Li turned to see a half-grown Little Tiger curiously tilting its head at him, with two streams of clear snot dripping from its large nostrils.
The Tiger Cub before him was in much worse condition; it wheezed with a rattling cough. He hurried back inside to grab his phone and called the Veterinarian: "Don't sleep, Alexander! Come to my house quickly! Bring fever medicine and an IV drip!"
After hanging up, he returned to the doorway and carefully picked up the unconscious Tiger Cub, bringing it inside and gently placing it on the sofa while also waking up Xiong Da and Xiong Er from their deep slumber.
The two large bears stared at the Female Tiger and her cub with increasingly hostile expressions. However, after Xu Li scolded them a couple of times, they stopped baring their teeth but continued to watch closely, wary of any potential attack from the tigers.
As Alexander entered the house, he was startled by the sight of the Female Tiger lying next to the sofa. Xu Li gestured toward the Little Tiger sprawled on the couch: "Take a look; something seems off with this cub."
Alexander grunted in acknowledgment; there were still two hamsters watching from inside. This tiger wouldn’t cause much trouble. He opened his medical kit and took out a stethoscope and thermometer. He inserted the thermometer into the Tiger Cub's rear end and began listening to its heartbeat.
Soon after, Alexander wiped off the thermometer with a tissue: "Severe cold combined with pneumonia; it seems like it's been going on for several days now. I’m not sure if we can save it."
"Let’s give it a try," he added.
Nodding in agreement, Alexander began preparing medication while Xu Li shaved some fur off around the tiger’s paw and tied it with a rubber band for when Alexander started administering IV fluids. Just then, Eva rubbed her eyes as she entered the living room, followed closely by Gaga with a small white creature beside her.
