My head hurts so much. 0

In the middle of the night, the two sisters, who had been sleeping soundly, suddenly started to run a fever and had runny noses. Xu Li hurriedly dressed them and carried them one by one to the car for a trip to the hospital. 0

"I don't want a shot! I don't want a shot!" Misha cried. 0

Eva, who was being pricked by the IV needle, screamed in surprise, startling the nurse. Xu Li smiled apologetically at her, "Sorry, she’s not very mentally stable; I hope she didn’t scare you." 0

"It's alright," the nurse replied with a sigh. She was around forty and looked at Eva, whose face was streaked with tears and snot, resembling a crying child. She decided to switch to a smaller needle meant for infants. Before the nurse inserted the needle, Xu Li covered Eva's eyes and reassured her, "It won't hurt." 0

Compared to the crying Eva, Anna was much quieter. When she saw the nurse approaching with a needle, she pressed closer into Xu Li's embrace, eventually turning her head away to avoid looking at the nurse. 0

Watching the sisters' flushed faces from their fever, he felt puzzled. He had spent fifteen years with them and had never seen them catch a cold; his own body was robust beyond normal standards. How could they suddenly have fevers? Did they catch a chill at night? That shouldn't be possible; these two used to swim in winter without getting sick. 0

After finishing the IV drip, it was nearly five in the morning. He tucked the sisters into bed with warm blankets and then busied himself in the kitchen, occasionally checking on them. The sight of both girls falling into a deep sleep after their fever made Xu Li feel somewhat strange. 0

His father-in-law and mother-in-law had visited Ivan's family; after dinner last night, they rushed to catch a flight back to Moscow and Huaxia, leaving him alone with his two daughters-in-law. 0

The next afternoon, both sisters opened their eyes simultaneously. Without waiting for Xu Li to speak, they dashed to the bathroom. Eva, boasting a few extra pounds over Anna, squeezed in first. Anna stomped her foot in annoyance as she headed to the opposite room. 0

Seeing them lively again brought a sigh of relief from Xu Li. He went down to the kitchen to prepare some food. Soon after, Eva and Anna appeared in their bathrobes and wrapped their arms around his waist without saying a word. 0

"What's wrong? Are you two still sleepy? You can go back to sleep after we eat," he said. 0

Suddenly stopping his work, he turned around and embraced both of them: "Why are you crying? Is something bothering you?" 0

"No, I just want to cry," Eva replied as she wiped her tears away. She stood on her tiptoes and kissed her husband on the lips. Seeing his slightly bewildered expression made her bury her face in his neck and whisper, "Misha, I love you!" 0

Before he could react, Anna held his head and gave him her own passionate kiss—something bold for her since it was usually Xu Li who initiated kisses; this was her first time taking that step. 0

"Are you both alright?" 0

He finally realized what was unusual about the sisters: Eva had never said she loved him before; she usually just cuddled up to him and expressed how much she liked being with him. This was the first time he had heard that word from her lips. 0

What a surprise! 0

"Oh no! The vegetables are burning!" 0

Anna pushed Xu Li aside, quickly turned down the heat, and continued to stir-fry the dishes in the pan. Eva guided Xu Li to sit at the dining table, kissed him on the cheek, and then walked into the kitchen to help Anna prepare the meal. 0

He stared blankly at the busy figures in the kitchen, suddenly slapping himself on the cheek. The sisters glanced back at Xu Li, smiled, and went back to cooking. 0
