I just happened to be bringing my Father-in-law and Zhang Ji Niang to stay at the ranch for a while. Andrei and his wife exchanged glances and understood, so after bidding farewell to Andrei's family, Xu Li took her young son to the house they had bought a few years ago.
Uncle Andong and Lisa happily circled around Natasha, as it was their niece's birthday. As her aunt, he wanted to treat them to a nice meal. Upon learning that his son had invited other classmates, he decided to call Andreev and ask him to drive over to Irkutsk.
Since there were quite a few people going, Uncle Andong and Lisa hopped into Anan's car. Besides Father-in-law and Zhang Ji Niang, Xu Li also brought along two young girls. Andreev arranged for the other children and also picked up his granddaughter.
Katyusha, who once considered dropping out of school, ultimately graduated from university thanks to the encouragement of others. Along the way, she met her current husband and started a family; everything seemed so wonderful.
Due to the number of children and the fact that the Old Couple were getting older and not suited for long trips, he took a detour. They stayed overnight at a hotel in Bratsk and arrived at the village the next evening.
Anna and Eva initially wanted to give Xu Li a hug, but their parents came along too, which made the sisters cling to Andrei and Natasha without letting go.
"Hello, I'm Anan. This is my wife Dasha."
"Hello, I'm Anna."
"Hello, I'm Eva."
The sisters greeted them one by one before letting them inside to rest. It wasn't until Xu Li closed the door and walked into the living room that she noticed everyone was standing against the wall, too shy to move.
Peeking in, she found two large hamsters tilting their heads as they curiously observed the arriving guests. Xu Li gave them a gentle pat on their backs: "Haven't you seen guests at home before? Go back to your own room."
Xiong Da and Xiong Er rubbed against Xu Li before leisurely making their way back to their designated room.
"Everyone take a seat."
After settling both adults and children comfortably, he went to his Father-in-law's bedroom. "Mom, what would you like for dinner?"
Natasha shook her head: "You go take care of the guests; I'll just have something simple."
"I'll make you some Tomato Egg Noodles and maybe some meat floss or something. You're not like them; you can't eat just anything."
He prepared some hot water for the Old Couple's feet before diving into his spacious remodeled kitchen to get busy. He cooked several dishes that the children liked while also preparing a meal for the Old Couple. As they aged, their teeth weren't as strong as before, so their food needed to be cooked a little longer.
Once dinner was served on the table, the Old Couple sat down at one end while Anan and Dasha kept them company with conversation.
The table was filled with a feast of colors, aromas, and flavors, featuring Sweet and Sour Pork Tenderloin and ribs. The children were all giving thumbs up in delight. Xu Li brought over a bottle of vodka and gestured to Anan, "Care for a drink?"
"Just a little," Anan replied.
He picked up his glass as Xu Li poured. Andrei pushed his glass forward, signaling his son-in-law to fill it as well.
However, Xu Li shook his head. "Dad, you can't drink right now; the doctor has advised against it."
"Just pour me a little sip," Old Russian said with a smile, but Xu Li refused to pour him any. He immediately turned away, trying not to look at him, feeling a bit dejected as he ate his noodles. Xu Li felt a pang of sadness in his heart, but there was nothing he could do about it.
