Good morning, Dad. 0

Xu Li rubbed his temples and plopped down on the sofa. Andrei, who was in the middle of eating, chuckled, "It's already noon. Natasha made you some chicken soup; you should drink a bit." 0

He got up and went to the kitchen to serve a bowl of chicken soup, which contained a whole chicken leg. Xu Li took the bowl and sipped the soup, finding it quite tasty. "Where are Anna and Eva?" 0

"They went horseback riding with Natasha. You can rest this afternoon; you were really drunk last night. You drank more than half a bottle by yourself. Don't drink so heavily next time; it's bad for your health." 0

Andrei finished the dumplings on his plate, wiped his mouth, and took the cigarette Xu Li offered him, lighting it up. "I have to get back to work. I'll have Anna come keep you company later." 0

He patted Xu Li on the back, put on his shoes, and drove the tractor out to the farm. Xu Li sat there drinking his chicken soup, lost in thought. Did he say anything embarrassing last night while he was drunk? Why did it feel like his father-in-law was looking at him strangely? 0

Shaking his head to dismiss those thoughts, he got up and went to the kitchen to grab some dumplings. Taking a bite, he raised an eyebrow; were these creamy mashed potato dumplings? Zhang Ji Niang's cooking wasn't bad. 0

He shrugged and ate a couple of dumplings while sipping his soup before finally gnawing on the chicken leg. After washing the dishes and wiping down the table, he wandered into the yard. Da Hei lay under a tree, panting with its tongue out, glancing at him before ignoring him completely. 0

Entering the storage room for meat, he pulled out some leftover organs from yesterday and tossed them into a bucket to thaw. He then clapped his hands and went to sit under an apple tree for some shade. He found it puzzling that there were so many apple trees planted in the yard; even if the whole family ate together, they wouldn't finish them all in a year. 0

The apples on the trees weren't very big yet; he estimated they'd be ready to eat by late August or early September. After dawdling under the tree for a while, he packed up the thawed organs, remembering Anna's advice to feed them to Huahua first. He cut up some beef kidneys into small pieces and fed them bit by bit to Huahua. 0

Once Huahua finished eating, it licked his hand with its tongue. Xu Li smiled and patted Huahua's head before heading over to Da Hei. He cut off a large chunk of meat—frozen on the outside but hard as rock inside—and dropped it into Da Hei's food bowl with a thud. The big dog shot him an annoyed look. 0

"What are you looking at?" Xu Li retorted. 0

Feeling somewhat emboldened now that he had support, he turned to Huahua, who was watching from a distance, and called out, "Huahua!" 0

"Wang Wang Wang!" Huahua barked in response. 0

Da Hei immediately turned its head away in disdain, ignoring this annoying human. Xu Li smirked triumphantly: "You think you can intimidate me? Not today!" 0

Feeling pleased with himself, Xu Li grabbed the bucket and tossed chunks of organs to Xiao Hei and Da Huang as well. He then went to wash out the bucket by the water sink. While he was washing his face, Anna and Eva came giggling into the yard. He wiped off the water and turned around—his nose nearly started bleeding from what he saw. 0

They were wearing long skirts of different floral patterns that nearly blinded him with their brightness; their figures were strikingly clear. Xu Li stepped forward and hugged Eva tightly. "Anna, you look beautiful today." 0

"I'm Eva!" she replied playfully. 0
