"You earned six hundred billion in six months, while he only made one hundred billion," Jiang Chen said.
"That can't be right. He should be earning about the same as me. Mr. Jiang, you can't really believe he only made one hundred billion, can you? He's clearly cooking the books," Guo Weiqing replied, a hint of surprise in his voice.
Jiang Chen smiled playfully.
"Oh, Mr. Jiang, I spoke out of turn. Liu Toukang's little tricks could never escape your eyes," Guo Weiqing quickly added.
"Miss Guo, I prefer to work with those who are sensible. I'll have someone contact you later for the handover," Jiang Chen said with a slight smile.
"Okay," Guo Weiqing nodded eagerly.
"Well, it seems today’s matter is resolved. You can continue your meeting; I won’t disturb you any longer," Jiang Chen said with a smile before turning and leaving gracefully.
No one dared to stop Jiang Chen, and it wasn't until he had walked far away that the atmosphere in the office began to ease slightly.
Guo Wei Yi's mother couldn't hold back her grief and burst into tears. Within minutes, she had lost both her son and husband; the pain felt like daggers piercing her heart.
"I want to call the police! I want to call the police!" Guo Wei Yi's mother suddenly shouted in a frenzy.
"Don't call the police just yet," Old Master Guo said in a deep voice. "Let's discuss this later; first, we need to check on Wei Yi."
Old Master Guo's words carried significant weight, especially since Jiang Chen's methods of killing were so bizarre that they even regarded him as a ghost, making them reluctant to provoke him carelessly.
Jiang Chen returned to his hotel while the Guo family began arranging the funeral for Guo Wei Yi and his father. The news of Old Master Guo's eldest grandson's suicide spread like wildfire across Hong Kong Island.
Upon hearing this news, Liu Toukang's family turned pale with shock.
Although the Guo family publicly claimed it was an accident, the Liu family did not share that belief. Jiang Chen had gone to the Guo family to collect debts, and now Guo Wei Yi was dead—this connection was impossible to ignore.
However, there were also strange aspects to consider; the Guo family's pharmaceutical business was managed by Guo Weiqing, so if something were to go wrong, it should have been her facing trouble instead.
"Mom, I'm going to find Guo Weiqing and ask about the situation," Liu Toukang said anxiously. After all, he had deceived Jiang Chen with false accounts, and now that someone from the Guo family had died, he felt uneasy.
"I'll go with you," Han Baiying said with a worried expression.
Liu Toukang nodded, and the mother-son duo headed to the Guo family to find Guo Weiqing. However, Guo Weiqing showed them little regard.
"Miss Guo, Mr. Jiang visited you today, right?" Liu Toukang pressed on as he followed her.
"So what if he did? And what if he didn't?" Guo Weiqing replied coldly. The Liu and Guo families already had grievances against each other. Moreover, from Guo Weiqing's perspective, Liu Toukang had dared to fool Jiang Chen with false accounts; although Jiang Chen hadn't exposed him yet, it was clearly a death wish. Guo Weiqing was certain that Liu Toukang would not end well and felt there was nothing more to say to someone who was already doomed.
"How much did you share with Mr. Jiang?" Liu Jiyue pressed further.
"That's a business secret, President Liu; it's not something you should inquire about. Besides, don't follow me anymore; I won't say anything. However, since we're both from Hong Kong Island, let me give you a piece of advice: if you want people not to know something, make sure you don’t do it yourself. President Liu, don’t entangle yourself," Guo Weiqing sneered coldly.
Liu Toukang and Han Baiying stood frozen in place. Liu Toukang's worry deepened, but Han Baiying, with a pale face, shouted, "Miss Guo, your Guo Family is considered a prominent family on Hong Kong Island. Why are you so timid? Is it really necessary to fear a mere boy this much? Even if he is formidable, surely someone has been able to subdue him?"
