As Liang Tian observed the stalemate in the battle, he understood that a direct assault would be futile. He needed to devise a new strategy quickly. His gaze sharpened, and he rapidly considered various possibilities in his mind while shouting, “Everyone, listen up! The experts from the Hidden Sect, use your spells to restrain the Guardian Beast's movements and prevent it from attacking freely! The rest of you, stay alert and be ready to support at any moment!”
Upon hearing his command, the experts from the Hidden Sect sprang into action. The disciples of the Lingxiao Sect unleashed a variety of control spells, sending golden runes flying from their hands to weave into a massive net of light that descended upon the Guardian Beast. Sensing danger, the Guardian Beast attempted to evade but was intercepted by the sword energy emitted by the Sword Cultivators of the Wan Jian Sect. In an instant, sword energy crisscrossed through the air, shining brightly as the Guardian Beast was successfully restrained, its movements becoming sluggish.
Seizing this opportunity, Liang Tian and Xiao Zhan stealthily maneuvered to the side of the Guardian Beast, carefully observing its every move in an attempt to identify its weaknesses. The battle intensified as the Guardian Beast roared in anger under the onslaught of spells, its flames burning even more fiercely as it struggled against their restraint.
“Brother, this Guardian Beast has insane defenses; we can’t hurt it with regular attacks!” Xiao Zhan shouted while dodging a swipe from the Guardian Beast's claws.
Liang Tian kept his eyes fixed on the Guardian Beast, determination and focus evident in his gaze. Suddenly, he had a breakthrough; he noticed that while resisting the spell attacks, the creature's head moved frequently, particularly around its eyes, which seemed especially sensitive.
“Brother Xiao, I think the Guardian Beast’s eyes might be one of its weak points!” Liang Tian shouted.
Xiao Zhan’s eyes lit up with excitement upon hearing this. “Great! Let’s find an opportunity to strike at its eyes!”
Just then, the Guardian Beast broke free from some of the spell bindings and lunged toward Liang Tian and Xiao Zhan. It moved with incredible speed and was upon them in an instant, its massive claws slashing toward Liang Tian with tremendous force. Liang Tian sidestepped just in time to narrowly avoid this deadly blow. Meanwhile, Xiao Zhan seized the chance to swing his blade at the Guardian Beast's eyes; unfortunately, it reacted swiftly and closed its eyes at the last moment. Xiao Zhan's long knife merely struck its hard eyelid, creating a shower of sparks.
Although this attack failed, it confirmed Liang Tian's hypothesis. Taking a deep breath, Liang Tian gathered his spiritual energy and prepared to unleash a powerful and precise spell. He quickly formed hand seals while chanting incantations, a brilliant light of spiritual energy coalescing in his hands.
“Everyone keep restraining it!” Liang Tian shouted. The experts from the Hidden Sect intensified their spellcasting output, intertwining various beams of light to trap the Guardian Beast further. The creature struggled furiously, attempting to break free from their encirclement.
Liang Tian waited for the right moment; when the Guardian Beast slightly opened its eyes to evade another spell attack, he shouted with conviction, “Now!” The spell he had gathered shot forth like a shooting star and struck directly at the Guardian Beast's eye.
“Roar!” The Guardian Beast let out a piercing scream as its body trembled violently. Black blood flowed from its wounded eye, and its movements became even more sluggish; its attacks lost their previous ferocity.
“We did it! Everyone push harder and keep attacking its eyes!” Liang Tian exclaimed excitedly. Encouraged by his words, everyone unleashed their most powerful attack spells toward the Guardian Beast’s vulnerable eyes.
However, although the Guardian Beast was injured, its strength remained formidable. It was acutely aware that its eyes were its weak point, and it began to spin wildly, using flames and claws to fend off the attacks of the others. The flames raged fiercely, and the Qi surged; it became increasingly difficult for them to strike at its eyes again.
At this critical moment, Liang Tian understood that he could not give the Guardian Beast a chance to catch its breath. While dodging the Guardian Beast's attacks, he pondered how to break through the current predicament. Xiao Zhan and the other experts did not give up either; they searched for opportunities to attack amidst the flames and shadows of claws. The battle had reached a fever pitch, and whether they could take advantage of the Guardian Beast's injury to defeat it completely, successfully protect the Evil Artifact, and thwart the Dark Organization's conspiracy remained uncertain...
