Who is he? Why is there this photo? Is this the person who posted the photo online in a past life?
Before I could sort out my thoughts, another message came through.
"Your boyfriend has quite the nerve, daring to touch anyone."
A threat? But why was it sent to me instead of Xu Jiaying or He Yang, who would be more afraid of things being exposed?
"If you dare to reach out, you must pay the price."
Though the identity wasn't made clear, a figure instinctively jumped into my mind.
Is it Gu Yuan?
Does he know?
I immediately began typing a flurry of messages, but before I could send them, I heard Xu Jiaying suddenly cheer from beside the bed.
"My boyfriend just messaged me saying he’s going to give me a Qixi Gift, and he’s prepared gifts for our whole dorm too! They’re downstairs; let’s go get them together!"
"Wow, that’s so sweet! Xu Jiaying, you have to lock him down!" My roommates cheered along, quickly slipping on their slippers and rushing towards the stairs.
Someone roughly patted the edge of my bed, "Hey, Su Yi, get up! The court is sending disaster relief food again!"
"Okay, I’m coming!"
I hastily threw on a dress and hurried downstairs.
Was the person sending those messages really him?
Thinking of her boyfriend's nearly six-foot-three stature, I felt a mix of excitement and unease.
A sky-blue Ferrari was parked downstairs, drawing a crowd of onlookers.
Xu Jiaying’s boyfriend Gu Yuan stood as usual in front of the car waiting for her. In front of him lay a huge square gift box, beautifully wrapped with a pink bow on top.
A group of people had already gathered at the dorm entrance, eager for the spectacle. After all, it was Qixi, and with a supercar, a handsome guy, and an eye-catching giant gift, the romantic girls were practically swooning with excitement!
Xu Jiaying was pushed to the front by her enthusiastic roommates and eagerly opened the gift at Gu Yuan’s gesture.
"Hey? What do you think Gu Yuan will give this time? A new handbag or jewelry? With such a big box, it can’t be a safe he brought along, right?"
While Xu Jiaying struggled with the bow, her roommates were even more excited than she was.
"Is it a crystal rocking horse from the Dai Family? Didn’t Jiajia say it was particularly dreamy last time? Brother-in-law is so thoughtful; I bet it’s that!"
"Su Yi, what do you think?"
"We'll find out soon enough," I replied dismissively, my mind racing with thoughts.
I had initially thought the person texting would be him, but now I wasn't so sure.
From the looks of it, he didn't seem like someone who had just found out he had been cheated on.
As the ribbon was untied, Xu Jiaying's expression turned rigid, her face paling as she stood there in shock.
"What’s going on? Let me see!"
My roommate could no longer contain her curiosity and leaned over to peek into the gift box.
I followed suit and was met with the sight of my boyfriend, He Yang.
His limbs were contorted unnaturally, covered in blood, lying in the gift box like a ragdoll stuffed in haphazardly. I could barely see any rise and fall in his chest; it was unclear whether he was alive or dead.
"Someone's been killed!"
A scream pierced the air, and those who had gathered around scattered like frightened birds, though they hesitated to move too far away, clustering together a short distance off to watch.
Xu Jiaying turned stiffly to Gu Yuan, forcing a smile that barely masked her fear.
"A Yuan, what does this mean? Isn’t this Su Yi's boyfriend? Did you... hurt him?"
She asked tentatively, unable to hide the tremors coursing through her body.
