Although Shi Tian said that the rod was sturdy, Hong Shun did not dare to be careless. This rod looked expensive; if it broke, he would have to work for Old Zhou to pay for it.
"Uncle Zhou learned cooking for a few days and was able to open a shop. If I work for you for two months and learn cooking, even if I can't open a shop, setting up a stall should be fine," Hong Shun replied casually while pulling in the line to reel in the fish.
This guy definitely had more plans than just that; learning cooking was only part of it. Hong Shun knew that Aunt Huang's shop was helped by Kang Ziyu, and Old Zhou's shop was also connected to Kang Ziyu. Now he realized that Kang Ziyu had ties with Shi Tian, and both Old Zhou and Aunt Huang learned their culinary skills from Shi Tian. Following Shi Tian would surely be more promising than following Old Zhou.
"You’re not afraid I might sell you off?" Shi Tian laughed and teased, admiring Hong Shun's courage. He knew this was a chance at destiny; to seize this opportunity, Hong Shun had the guts to walk out on his own, which made him much stronger than Old Zhou.
"You won’t do that; Sister Xiao Yu would never agree." Hong Shun chuckled, unafraid of Shi Tian's joke. He was broke, with only a few thousand in savings—an amount neither Shi Tian nor Kang Ziyu would care about.
He understood that Shi Tian wanted to help him go out and see the world beyond. He kept this kindness in his heart, knowing that life was long and there would be opportunities in the future.
"Alright, do you have an ID? If you do, bring it over later; if not, bring your Household Register. We’ll book the tickets; tomorrow morning, I’ll take you and Sister Xiao Yu to Sanya."
"Yes, is just the ID enough?"
"Just the ID will do. When we get to Sanya, help me check out the shop and start learning from bookkeeping and inventory."
"If we go sea fishing, you'll be responsible for cleaning the boat. Later on, I'll teach you some cooking skills; once you learn them, you can even take on part-time cooking jobs. It’s a promising path." Since Hong Shun chose not to take a salary, Shi Tian decided not to offer one.
That evening, he took Hong Shun to Old Zhou’s place for a gathering with Old Zhou and Aunt Huang. Since they were leaving soon and taking Hong Shun with them, it wouldn’t be right not to say goodbye to the people here; otherwise, rumors would fly before nightfall.
Of course, even if they said goodbye, it wouldn’t necessarily change much; perhaps only after summer vacation when Hong Shun returned would those rumors fade away.
"Uncle Zhou, this is your bank card that you lent me. I’m back from abroad now and don’t plan on going out again soon, so I’m returning it." After finishing his dishes, Shi Tian took out the bank card that Old Zhou had given him back then and placed it in front of Old Zhou.
This card had been quite helpful; without it and without Old Zhou’s trip to Xiamen, they wouldn’t have been able to dig those two wells.
"Keep it; just in case you go abroad again, having an extra bank card is always a good backup." Old Zhou raised his hand and pushed the card back toward Shi Tian without any intention of taking it back.
With this card in hand, Shi Tian would indeed find things much easier. When he went to help Shi Tian fly to Xiamen to withdraw money back then, he had specifically brought Aunt Huang along.
This matter not only helped Shi Tian but also benefited himself. Traveling together with beauty, Pingtou Ge only arranged one room; it was unclear whether Old Zhou seized the opportunity or Aunt Huang played hard to get but ultimately ended up with Old Zhou.
In any case, the two were now together and were discussing choosing a date for their marriage certificate these days. With Shi Tian taking the initiative to offer help, Old Zhou naturally wouldn’t let this chance slip away.
"Xiao Tian, there’s something we’d like your help with." Blushing slightly as he poured a drink for Shi Tian, Old Zhou said: "Aunt Huang and I are getting our marriage certificate and want to hold a wedding; could you help us pick a date?"
As soon as he spoke, Kang Ziyu glanced at Old Zhou and then at Aunt Huang. The contemporary Cui Cui had found another kind of happiness—this ending turned into a comedy!
"Uncle Zhou, how did you manage to win Aunt Huang over?" Shi Tian joked, counting on his fingers for six minutes. "June 26th sounds good; let's go with that date."
"What do you mean 'win over'? It's all about my charm!" Just as Old Zhou was about to boast, he felt a shiver run down his thigh as Aunt Huang playfully pinched him.
Seeing Aunt Huang shy away, Old Zhou quickly added, "It's mainly because you, Aunt Huang, are so kind-hearted. You couldn't bear to see me living alone and miserable, so you selflessly offered your love!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Old Zhou's thigh was freed from her grasp. It seemed that Aunt Huang was quite pleased with his reasoning.
After checking the date, he realized that not only did he not make a penny from this venture, but he also ended up giving two red envelopes to Kang Ziyu. This meal had certainly cost him more than he expected.
The next morning, he and Kang Ziyu set off with Hong Shun on their journey back to Sanya. Shi Tian had a plan: once they got to Sanya, he would have Hong Shun help out at the store during his free time and let the staff train him—at least enough to become a competent store manager.
When it came to going out to sea, Hong Shun would definitely be included. Shi Tian wanted him to experience the thrill of fishing for big fish and perhaps catch a few Dajinqiang to sell when they returned, which would help cover some living expenses.
As for sea fishing, Shi Tian wasn't too worried about whether Hong Shun would get seasick. The stabilizer on the mini light boat was quite effective; as long as he didn't look out at the ocean too much, he should be fine. Taking Hong Shun out fishing was definitely on the agenda.
Additionally, they could arrange for him to fish right outside the store. With Hong Shun's smarts, catching a few Black Sea Bream would be easy enough, and selling the fish wouldn't be a problem at all.
