Shi Tianyi's reminder jolted Yi Laotou awake from his daydream of commanding the Star Brand Army. With a flick of his wrist, he bounced the rod back, releasing the tension; it was a hefty catch.
There was no shortage of fishermen around here. Just look at the crowd at the Fishing Spot across the way, not to mention the constant buzz of people in the Fishing Tackle Shop.
As soon as a big fish was hooked, several people rushed over, and soon enough, the fishermen in the shop joined in to see what was happening. Before the fish even surfaced, there were already seven or eight spectators gathered around.
With so many people cheering him on, Yi Laotou took his time reeling in the fish, even slowing down his pace. Watching him leisurely play with his catch, Shi Tian set his net down on the ground and turned back to his own Fishing Spot, keeping a close eye on his Float. At this rate, it would be at least ten minutes before his fish came up.
“I'm telling you to fish!” he thought. The kids were left unattended, and home was forgotten; he rushed over to fish right after work and wouldn’t return until dark! Just as everyone was happily waiting for the big fish to come ashore, a branch suddenly fell from above and struck a lobster on its back.
Seeing this unfold, Shi Tian quickly grabbed his rod and made a run for it, hoping to avoid any collateral damage.
When did lobsters get married? Do they have kids now? This secret-keeping is too good! He hadn’t heard a thing about it, and Wang Gou hadn’t mentioned anything either!
Watching the woman with the branch hitting the lobster, it was clear there was some connection; otherwise, she wouldn’t be so aggressive. It seemed like tonight’s night fishing plans were ruined!
Not just Shi Tian—when the commotion started, even Yi Laotou’s fish on the rod became less interesting. People began pointing their phones at the lobster instead. There were no shouts of condemnation or disdain; some even empathized with the lobster.
Caught off guard by this unexpected calamity, the lobster was bewildered. When did I get married? How come I wasn’t informed? What’s this about kids? Bai Jian is coming? He certainly didn’t want this good fortune falling on him.
“Who are you? Do you know me?” The lobster exclaimed as it turned its head only to receive another hit from the branch that struck its chin, causing it to jump up in surprise.
As soon as it shouted, the woman paused her assault and hid the branch behind her back while stepping back a couple of paces.
“Did I hit wrong? Who told you to wear that outfit? Always fishing without caring for your family; you deserved that beating!” With that parting shot, she pushed through the crowd and ran off before the lobster could react.
What the hell! Where did this crazy person come from? Watching her flee in panic, the lobster stood dumbfounded—had it just taken a hit for someone else’s misfortune? That beating was completely uncalled for!
A few branches had landed with some sting, but surely it wasn’t worth calling the police over such a trivial matter! After all that fuss, he’d probably just get an apology and a few bucks in compensation—he didn’t have that kind of energy!
“Bro, I’m really sorry! My wife keeps such tight reins on me; I snuck out to fish and didn’t expect you’d get hurt!” A guy who looked quite similar to the lobster rushed over to shake its hand apologetically.
The lobster hadn’t thought about reporting anything; he just wanted to check if he was bleeding from his chin with his phone. But this Bro assumed he was going to call for help. If only he hadn’t pulled out his phone—this guy would have quietly slipped away. But now that he had taken out his phone, Bro felt compelled to step in.
Damn it! I took that hit for you! Holding his chin and sucking in a breath of cold air, the lobster didn’t know what to say. Where were you when I needed someone to stop her?
“Didn’t your wife say we’re wearing matching outfits? Where’s yours?” The lobster glared at Bro in frustration.
“It’s in my Fishing Box! I had to keep an eye out for her! Didn’t expect you’d get caught up in this.” He sighed. “How about we head over there? My treat as an apology. For old times’ sake with Star Brand Army—let’s not hold this against her!”
