They went fishing, but Shi Chui didn't set up the fence. Originally, this task had been arranged, but Li Yunfei ran off, and Shi Ye also left, leaving him to handle it alone. Could he find psychological balance in that? He didn't want to do the work, so he needed a reason. The three old men abandoned Yi Laotou and ran away; surely Yi Laotou needed some company! Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell had to assess the market here since they wanted to open a branch, so Lao Shi had to drive a few people around!
Thus, Shi Chui drove Shi Tian's Dai Yue Ye, taking Yi Laotou and Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell with him. They also picked up Shi Tian's Twenty-First Senior Brother and set off to survey Suzhou City.
The day before yesterday, they first visited the Fishing Tackle Shop. After catching a few fish, feeling uneasy, they thought that since Da Gui Wang knew them, Li Ziyu might also go to the shop. So the four of them headed over to the Suzhou River near Wengjiatang.
The spot there was decent; there weren't any big fish, but there were plenty of small Carp, although the current was a bit strong. After drinking too much Milk Fish Soup, they wanted a change of taste. So under Yi Laotou's suggestion, they decided to check out another location and went to Yongchang River early yesterday morning.
There were quite a few fish in Yongchang River; unfortunately, they were somewhat unappetizing—the water quality was almost as bad as Huangpu River. There was no way they could eat those fish even if Yi Laotou had superb culinary skills to get rid of that diesel taste!
Since Yongchang River's environment wasn't suitable, they decided to explore another place! Right next door was the Grand Canal, so they looked for a fishing spot there where many people were fishing!
They traveled ten kilometers north along the Grand Canal and arrived at Changxu Bridge. Underneath the bridge on the south side was a grassy area where many fishermen had gathered.
With so many people around claiming there were fish, they decided to conduct their assessment right there! Looking out through the car window, as soon as Yi Laotou spoke up, Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell immediately hit the brakes.
"Master, you must leave me a good fishing spot today! I soaked in the water all day yesterday; my feet are itching this morning!" After instructing them and unloading their gear, Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell pulled out his phone to search for parking.
"Wasn't that fishing spot from yesterday good? Out of the four of us, you caught one Carp while we all caught nothing but Carp." After checking their equipment and confirming everything was in order, they shouldered their Rod Bags and Fishing Boxes. Yi Laotou and Shi Chui each carried a Big Carp as they walked toward the bridge.
The Carp were bought earlier at the market; they definitely wouldn't eat them—they were props, not ingredients!
"Junior Brother, be content! Yesterday you just soaked in the water while I was stuck in mud all day!" After unloading their things and watching the two walk toward the riverbank, Twenty-First Senior Brother casually closed the door and complained to Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell.
Thinking about Twenty-First Senior Brother made Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell feel much better. Although the water was dirty, the mud was even worse. Remembering how Twenty-First Senior Brother had his feet stuck in muck for half a day yesterday brought him an odd sense of sympathy!
"You stay here and watch our gear! I'll park the car and come help you move things!" After giving instructions, Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell quickly looked for a place to park.
They couldn't let Twenty-First Senior Brother go down; if he ran over to the riverbank, he would definitely occupy their fishing spot. If that happened today, it would be him stuck in mud!
"Brother, how's it going over here?" Walking up behind a young man in his thirties, he dropped his gear on the ground and offered him a cigarette while casually asking.
"It's alright; there are more Carp. If we add some water, we can definitely have Milk Fish Soup by noon!" Seeing this cigarette offered by Shi Chui made Big Brother not use his usual tricks.
He just pulled out a lighter and turned around to light Shi Chui's cigarette when he saw Shi Chui holding a Big Carp; Big Brother immediately put away his lighter and lost interest in smoking.
"What’s going on? Are you showing off your catch here? I've seen lost people before but never someone who came down by the river only to get lost among fishermen—what are you doing?"
Just as he was about to turn around and sit back down, he glanced again at the Carp in Shi Chui's hand. Taking a moment to gather his thoughts, he manually formed a smile on his face. Pulling out a lighter, he leaned closer to Shi Chui and lit the cigarette for him.
