The personnel turnover is certainly high, but for Shi Tian, this is not a problem. A single sauce can elevate Squid to a whole new level. Even if they venture out on their own, it would be small-scale and wouldn’t significantly impact the overall situation.
With a four-way split, after deducting costs, the share he splits with Squid Brother is still a decent income. At the very least, he could buy Kang Ziyu a proper bed and tidy up the Farmhouse Garden inside and out without any issues.
As the scale increases, unified procurement will lower costs. If he hires a few more people to handle Squid, Shi Tian could even set up a workshop dedicated to producing that sauce, with unified procurement and distribution, allowing this idea to grow.
"I'll go ahead and post a recruitment notice. I'll cover the initial ten Squid Trucks; do you need me to help procure the raw materials for your sauce?" Within half an hour of sketching out the plan, Squid Brother's heart rate had already shot up to one hundred and twenty.
"Today we recruit, tomorrow we train, and by the day after tomorrow, we can break even!"
To Squid Brother, money seemed so easy to make; they could break even in just three days. Shi Tian's timeline for breaking even seemed a bit unrealistic, but this business indeed required a small investment and offered quick returns—it's a promising venture!
"You procure the Squid Trucks, and I'll provide the initial sauce. That’s our upfront investment settled. You handle recruitment and training; remember to choose outgoing candidates. It’s fine to pick several since there will definitely be high turnover in this line of work."
When it comes time to register their identity information, those who leave without notice won’t be rehired in the future.
Before finishing his meal, Squid Brother was already ready to pay the bill. With such a big opportunity at hand, Shi Tian was being overly cautious—was one Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai enough? The starting point should be national; once they’re on track, they must aim for international expansion—that’s what it takes to have ambition!
In Squid Brother's eyes, Shi Tian was still too young! If they were going to do it, they needed to think big—be bold and decisive! Opportunities are reserved for those who are prepared; otherwise, they slip away quickly. He was already that prepared person!
The Squid Trucks need uniform branding. Once they develop further, staff uniforms will also be necessary. Seeing that Shi Tian had reached an agreement with Squid Brother, Kang Ziyu chimed in from the side: "I'll stay late tonight to design the branding; tomorrow I'll have Tian Ge send it over to you."
Hearing this made Shi Tian smile at Kang Ziyu beside him—this girl was stirring things up!
Bringing up uniform branding and staff attire without mentioning unifying the Trademark brand was intentional. Kang Ziyu couldn’t possibly ignore the brand issue; however, how would they manage once it was established? She likely had her back-up plan figured out—just grant free licensing to Squid Company.
It seemed convenient and worry-free, but one Trademark could be registered under multiple categories. While Squid Brother worked tirelessly to promote the brand, Kang Ziyu might one day come out with her own brand of chicken strips or wings under the same trademark.
However, this couldn’t entirely be blamed on Kang Ziyu; given Squid Brother's capabilities, he wouldn’t be able to apply for that Trademark himself. Once their name gained traction, any submitted applications would take time to process while others would find ways to snatch that Trademark away.
Once the model is established, rapid promotion is necessary; they must seize market share before competitors react. They can’t afford to wait a year just for a Trademark! If that were the case, what would all their hard work amount to?
After sending off Squid Brother in a cab home, Shi Tian thought about setting up stalls again in the coming days. The night market should fare better without one less Squid Brother!
"Xiao Yu, let’s go buy a bed tomorrow! Without a bed, it doesn’t feel like home!" Upon entering and seeing the tent inside his room again, Shi Tian began reminiscing about his big bed.
"Your Highness," he said with determination, "our business has just begun; it's crucial now more than ever. We have limited resources and must tread carefully! Once our venture takes off and we receive our first month's dividends, we can enjoy ourselves then!"
With that said, he pulled back the tent flap and gently nudged Shi Tian inside. Kang Ziyu followed closely behind him as they settled into another warm night together!
