Shi Tian drove his Air Force sports car into the underground garage of the Air Force Courtyard and quickly switched to his Dai Yue Ye.
Li Ziyu was already awake, basking in the sun on the terrace. A small speaker played soft music beside her, and in front of her lay a sketchbook depicting Shi Tian and Cha Dong fishing together.
"You're here! Did the rod arrive that the old man wanted?" Seeing Shi Tian, Li Ziyu immediately got up and headed downstairs.
"It arrived. Ye Ge came by; I chatted with him for a bit." He embraced Li Ziyu and kissed her, whispering in her ear, "Wait here; I'll go make you breakfast."
"Breakfast is ready. You go wash up; I’ll bring it right over."
Li Ziyu knew that Shi Tian had gone out in the middle of the night to deliver goods for the old man. Old Kong had mentioned it during dinner at the resort last night, saying that a vehicle would come early today to pick up the goods. However, she hadn’t expected Shi Ye to come rushing in.
"Should we call Ye Ge over for breakfast?" Li Ziyu asked as they sat down.
"No need; he's over at the old man's place for a meal. We'll eat by ourselves."
Shi Tian wanted to mention the private island to Li Ziyu, but unfortunately, it was still too early to bring it up. Otherwise, if Shi Ye didn’t secure Wild Boar Island, it would be embarrassing.
For Wild Boar Island, Shi Ye had been negotiating with several old men. Many were eyeing the island, but few dared to act on it. The military could release their claim on Wild Boar Island, but without local approval, it wouldn’t matter! This was a tricky situation; it would create too much noise!
"What about Xizhou Island over in Huizhou? How about I give you that one? It's quite beautiful, with long beaches and a bay to build a medium-sized dock—much better than Wild Boar Island!"
When Shi Ye heard this, several old men were taken aback. Did this guy really come all this way just for that one island?
Xizhou Island was only four miles from Huizhou Port. While it was considered an uninhabited island, it wasn’t entirely so; there had been development there before. Unfortunately, a typhoon had left it in ruins, and significant investments had gone to waste.
In recent years, people had started taking an interest in the island again, building some guesthouses and resorts there. Although relocating them could be troublesome, it was just a matter of spending some money—much simpler than dealing with Wild Boar Island.
Besides Xizhou Island, there were also islands around Zhoushan! There were plenty of islands there; finding a suitable one would be much easier than Wild Boar Island.
"I promised to get you an island," he said to Shi Ye, "but I didn’t promise you could choose! You’re quite bold to start with Wild Boar Island right off the bat."
"Old man," Shi Ye replied, "the climate around Huizhou and Zhoushan really isn’t suitable."
"I want to secure Wild Boar Island to build a Ceramic Factory for producing Ceramic Bearings. The production line for Ceramic Bearings has extremely high environmental requirements; other places just don’t have that kind of environment."
"If I can’t secure Wild Boar Island, I’ll have to buy an island in Africa instead since there are too few low-latitude islands domestically."
"What’s this Ceramic Bearing?" As soon as Shi Ye mentioned Ceramic Bearings, Old Kong immediately stood up. This guy came prepared and was clearly trying to leverage something.
Giving Wild Boar Island to Shi Ye was just a matter of public pressure. If he truly had something valuable to offer that could silence those people up top—a tiny island wouldn’t matter at all!
"Did Xiao Tian not bring any spare bearings when he gave you the Rod?"
As soon as Shi Ye mentioned the Rod, several old men fell silent. They did have spare bearings, but they had given them away! They still didn’t know which laboratory was currently suffering through various experiments.
Tiger Ridge had the same climate, similar environment, and identical latitude. Why not just build the factory at Tiger Ridge?
Seeing that Old Wen and Old Kong were quiet, Old Liu slowly raised his hand and tentatively spoke up.
Glancing at Old Liu, Old Wen sighed and said, "I'll have someone ask about it. Hopefully, it will work out!"
