Air Force and Lu Ya were finally free. After agreeing to a series of unequal treaties, early the next morning, the two carefully took care of the two old men as they rushed to catch the earliest flight back to Sanya.
Flying back and forth had surprisingly made the three old men fall in love with this feeling, as if they had returned to their busy days in office. Now retired, they were finally able to engage in the work they loved, living the life they had always wanted. Although it was tiring, the three old men were enjoying themselves, and their youthful vigor had returned!
The rewards for their cross-activity still needed to be redeemed; this was a promise they couldn't break! The top few were promised a fishing trip, and in a few days, it would be time to fulfill that promise!
Old Yi mentioned that it was set for Chou Jiu on the third day of the Rock Fishing Tournament. "You need to help arrange a boat for this; we need to get it sorted!" Old Kong said seriously while patting Air Force on the shoulder.
Everyone knew what he was talking about and understood what they wanted to do, but no one said it outright. It was quite absurd to discuss such an unreasonable matter so seriously.
"Grandpa, let’s leave this to Xiao Tian! We agreed that I would take you out to sea for two days. We’ll take a big boat; it’s stable and won’t make you seasick! We planned to take Air Force out with a few old gentlemen for some fun, so why are we changing plans now that the plane has landed?"
"That won’t do! Old Yi is the champion; missing even one day would be unfair to him! Plus, Old Wen came in third! Just for two days of fun? Can you ask Old Wen if he would agree?"
Old Wen's third place was bought with money; there was a discount for the first place. So, the three old men started discussing, and this third place fell onto Old Wen's shoulders, which meant it was related to Air Force and Xia Shou.
"Grandpa, I need to go abroad soon; I don’t have much time!" The few old men had taken over Sanya, and once back in Beijing, he would have to go on blind dates. There was no way he could stay in the country any longer—so what were they waiting for? They needed to hurry!
"You can run, but first get the sea fishing sorted out!" If that wasn’t settled, how could he think about going abroad? No way!
"Don’t rush off so quickly; why go so far?" Lao Mian said. "There’s some movement over there; weren’t you involved before? Jiao Piao Port has already been secured; we can go check it out!"
With just one sentence from the old man, Shi Tianyi shivered. After all this time spent fussing around, it turned out it was for this! Now domestic goods could be shipped directly from the Indian Ocean! The ninety-nine rental period was already sufficient!
Setting up a company abroad meant domestic goods could be produced and packaged for shipment there. Once there, just slap on a Meidein Myanmar label and they could sell it—no tariffs or anti-subsidy issues would arise with just a label.
Once goods arrived there and made a round trip with an added markup as transportation fees—which would definitely be paid by buyers—domestic goods sold abroad would generate transportation fees while creating job opportunities and tax revenue. Buyers would raise their purchase prices accordingly, which would inevitably increase retail prices as well. This way, local industries would be protected; everyone benefits—it’s all so reasonable—a win-win situation!
This model hadn’t been widely implemented yet. Once it was rolled out on a larger scale with one or two flagship products per company, who could they target? Who could they investigate for subsidies? If anyone dared bring it up at the UN meeting, they'd get surrounded by a group of people ready to beat them up!
Watching the three old men threaten Air Force together made Shi Tianyi think for a moment before rubbing his nose and saying: "Old man, two days isn’t bad! Let Jun Ge take you out for two days of fun; save up some time for next time!"
"This season isn’t good for tuna fishing anyway. Wait until after the fishing ban ends when the sea opens up again; then there will be plenty of hundred-pound Dajinqiang!"
Shi Tianyi said this, and after discussing among themselves, the three old men turned their eyes toward Air Force: "Thank you! This idea is really great! One trip isn’t enough; we’ll have to go several times! How dare you think of that!"
Playing with these old gentlemen? How could that ever end well? It would be worse than lending money!
Xiao Tian made a valid point: "Then let’s go have fun for two days first; let’s start with Old Yi! After Old Yi is done having fun, then I’ll take my turn!" Seeing Air Force's objection, Old Wen quickly made a decision.
"Old man, in future club activities, high-level leaders should refuse participation!" Being cornered by these old gentlemen made Shi Tianyi realize just how thick-skinned these old men could be!
"I invoke a veto, denied!" As Shi Tian's words fell, Old Kong immediately spoke up.
"Old man, when did I ever have a veto? When did you add that in?" Shi Tian turned to the elderly men as the car came to a stop.
"Our High-Level leaders made this decision in a meeting. What position do you hold? Is this kind of High-Level resolution something you should be privy to?"
With a push of the car door, the old men got out and looked towards the newly constructed fishing platforms. The fishing spot at the mouth of the bay should be quite good, but it was too close to the swimming area. If they moved back a bit, those fishing platforms could work; they would go there to fish in the future!
"I propose we cancel your veto power!" Shi Tian genuinely feared that these old men would ruin the Diao Jiao. Is this how we operate according to Security Council standards? That place is just a haven for rogues!
