As soon as they entered the Fishing Tackle Shop, the Unreliable Duo was busy dividing their spoils behind the counter. They had caught a significant number of Black Sea Bream recently and made quite a bit of money from their sales. Earlier that morning, Shi Tian had come by to prepare some bait and check the accounts, only to find that the Unreliable Duo had recorded all the money from the Black Sea Bream sales.
Shi Tian had previously mentioned that this money did not need to be accounted for; they could keep what they earned from selling their fish. Since he had made that promise, it was time to fulfill it. He calculated the amount separately, tidied up the cash in the shop, and paid them in cash.
Catching Black Sea Bream was fine, but it shouldn’t interfere with the shop’s business. Selling Black Sea Bream was acceptable, but they shouldn’t actively promote it. The Black Bream Bait and Largemouth Bass were available for use but not for sale.
They had agreed on these terms, and since Sun Lang hadn’t brought it up before, it was better to remind them now. "Feng Ge," one of them said, "we sold three thousand two hundred this week. That’s one thousand six hundred each for us. If we keep this up for a month, we could make six or seven thousand! At this rate, we’ll be earning over ten thousand a month! I think I can’t quit my job just yet; I’ll wait until we finish catching the Black Sea Bream before I resign!"
Dividing the money between them, Xiao Yu said with a squinting smile, "I think it’s doable. The boss made over thirty thousand last night; there’s no way this shop is going under anytime soon. You watch the shop this afternoon while I go rent a place in town so we can continue to cash in on this opportunity!"
"Feng Ge," he added cautiously, "be careful what you say! There are gods watching overhead; if the boss hears you, he might fire you!" He pointed at the camera above them with a grin.
"Let’s go through the back passage; it's a blind spot for surveillance here. They can only hear us, not see us, and that won’t hold up in court!" With that, he took a seat in the passageway with Ma Zha, feeling much safer there.
"Are we still doing broadcasts?" Xiao Yu asked. He didn’t mind renting a place in town; otherwise, commuting for work would be too inconvenient.
"Of course! My followers have been increasing rapidly these past few days; they’re climbing up quickly! Some even asked for my address to send me local specialties."
Initially hoping to gain fame through novelty topics but struggling for weeks without much success, he now found that simply setting his phone on a tripod and fishing for a few hours while chatting produced better results than before. He had already gained over three thousand followers.
"Local specialties? Did you give them your address?" Xiao Yu shivered at the thought. If he really did provide his address, he would need to find somewhere to hide for a few days.
"Don’t waste someone’s kindness! I gave them the address of the Nursing Home and even announced it in front of several Booth viewers for half an hour."
As a gesture of gratitude, he promised to donate a day’s worth of fish to the Nursing Home and planned to catch some fish later to freeze and send via cold chain delivery in the afternoon.
In the shop, catching fish was easy, but selling them was another story. They couldn’t just take their wages from the shop and set up a stall on the street to sell fish! Fortunately, there were no customers today, so they wouldn’t incur any losses.
The large fish tank in the shop was nearly full from their catches; with so many fish inside, they needed to find a way to handle them before catching more.
"What are we waiting for? Let’s get them out!" Feng Ge exclaimed. "We can freeze them in Fang Lang's big freezer; it has enough space! Just remember to drain the water properly; shipping costs are quite high!" After saying this, they grabbed two large bags and got to work.
Upon entering, Shui Bi Zhang saw them leaning over the fish tank scooping out fish. He looked around but didn’t see Shi Tian or Sun Lang anywhere in the shop.
"Where's Sun Lang? Is he not working today?" He asked as he sat down at the tea table with his rod.
Having met the Unreliable Duo twice before and knowing they were new employees at the shop, he was there to return his Boat Rod which he had borrowed from Sun Lang. Therefore, he needed to hand it over either to Sun Lang or Shi Tian.
"Sister Lang isn’t here; do you need me to call him?" He glanced back at them before tossing his things aside and prioritizing customer service!
Last night, Sun Lang had a few words with me and restricted the permissions for both of us. From now on, any orders over ten thousand or any mention of Shi Tian and his clients must be reported to him.
Alright, I’ll reach out to him; could you please assist me with that? After agreeing, I got up and walked over to the counter to restock some supplies we had used during our outing.
I made a quick call to Sun Lang, and the two of us shifted into work mode.
"Shui Zong, we have new products in the store today. Would you like to take a look?" As I finished replenishing the supplies for the three of us, Xiao Yu immediately started introducing the new items.
"What new products?" Hearing this, the three of them became interested.
"Smart Rod! Let me demonstrate it for you!" Xiao Yu pulled out a tablet from under the counter and began her presentation.
Since Shi Tian had prohibited them from selling Boat Rods in front of him, we decided to start with regular equipment.
After a thorough introduction, before Shui Bi Zhang could place an order, Zhang Junming eagerly grabbed a Smart Fishing Rod.
Taking a glance at Shui Bi Zhang and then at Zhang Junming, I realized that he was the real big client!
Once the rod was selected and loaded onto the cart, we ensured everything was delivered properly. Looking at the rod in Zhang Junming's hand, which was a Chang Gan, I decided to take a shorter rod with him to test it on the opposite side.
With a flick of my wrist, I cast out a line with a Plastic Particle attached. Xiao Yu had already mastered this technique quite well.
A Black Sea Bream came up, and Xiao Yu smiled as she said, "For fishing this kind of fish, a smaller rod works better. It’s more sensitive and has a much better feel!"
Turning to look at Xiao Yu, Zhang Junming chuckled; this young girl was quite enthusiastic about her sales pitch.
Seeing that Zhang Junming didn’t respond much, Xiao Yu began guiding him on how to install Social Media while continuing her casting technique.
