The stall owner stopped Brian and his expression was no longer as determined as before, but rather with a hint of compromise as he said, "Well, well, 2 silver coins will do, I'll sell it to you."
Brian was overjoyed at once, a smile that he couldn't contain spreading across his face. He quickly took out the only 2 silver coins from his pocket and handed them to the stall owner, excitedly saying, "Thank you, thank you."
The vendor took the silver coin, casually tucked it into his chest, waved his hand to signal Brian to take the totem pole.
Brian joyfully picked up the totem pole and left as if it were a precious treasure.
After Brian left, the stall owner completely changed from his previous despondency, appearing like a completely different person.
He stood in place, gazing in the direction Brian had left, muttering to himself: "I didn't show off well this time, only sold 2 silver coins."
"It's also a pleasant surprise."
This totem pole is a trophy that his clan obtained when attacking the enemy. Most people wouldn't want such a thing because it's just a totem pole, and the deity behind it is still alive. Who knows what it might do behind your back. So only someone like Brian, born a pauper and lacking common sense, would buy it.
However, Brian was oblivious to all this, as he excitedly clutched the various items he had painstakingly collected at the market, and hurriedly made his way to the somewhat secluded dormitory at the academy.
He closed the door gently, perked up his ears to listen carefully, and after confirming multiple times that there was not a single sound of disturbance around, he finally let out a slow sigh of relief.
He took a deep breath, calming his slightly rapid heartbeat caused by excitement, and carefully took out two cards from the Deity Core.
Then, he expanded his mental power through the crystal ball and connected with his clan - Goblin tribe.
Brian focused his attention and first observed the living environment of his family. Through the mysterious spiritual connection, his consciousness seemed to traverse endless time and space, clearly "seeing" a dark and deep cave.
The cave was filled with a damp atmosphere, with water droplets covering the walls, dripping down and echoing with crisp sounds in the silence. As he delved deeper into the cave, he discovered an underground river flowing slowly, with the water murmuring and giving off a hint of coolness.
Brian saw that his Goblin family relied on the moss and dimly glowing mushrooms growing in the cave to sustain their lives. Although the moss was not delicious, it at least filled their stomachs; and the glowing mushrooms not only provided a faint light, but also served as a source of food when supplies were scarce.
Occasionally, bats flew through the cave, providing them with an extra meal. However, they dared not catch the fish in the underground river, as two Goblins had drowned while fetching water previously.
Inside the cave, there are several young goblins, probably just born recently. However, the previous young goblin is not here at the moment, and many familiar goblin figures are also missing.
"Could they have gone out?" Brian pondered to himself, furrowing his brow slightly. However, he dismissed the idea of them being in danger because he could clearly feel the strong connection between them still intact.
"They must have gone out hunting," he thought with conviction in his heart.
Just then, as they were mentioned, Brian felt a commotion. He looked up and saw them filing down from the opening above.
Each of them was injured, dragging a dead wild boar with unsteady steps, creating a somber and oppressive atmosphere. However, the young Goblins below did not understand the seriousness of the moment, and rushed over, happily shouting, "Meat! Meat!"
However, Young goblin, who has now become their leader, had a serious expression on his face as he extended his arm to gently push them aside.
"Children, do you remember our rules? We must first offer our food to the gods!" The leader Goblin's voice carried an unquestionable authority.
"But there are no gods at all!" The children didn't understand what they had experienced before, they only knew they couldn't eat meat, so they spoke without restraint.
The mother of the children was shocked and quickly covered the child's mouth, apologizing repeatedly to the leader Goblin with great trepidation, "I'm sorry, leader; I'm sorry, leader. The child is just starving, please don't blame him."
The leader, although reluctant, had to punish the young goblin for disrespecting the gods in order to uphold the rules he had set: "You have been disrespectful to the gods today, so you are not allowed to eat meat today!"
The young goblin burst into tears and was quickly dragged away by his mother.
The leader Goblin scanned the inside of the cave and, seeing no objections from anyone, proceeded to cut off the head of the wild boar. He then placed it on a crude altar.
This altar was located in a separate cave, surrounded by darkness and cold, giving it a very rough and simple appearance. Just a few differently shaped stones piled together at random formed the altar that carried the faith of the Goblin.
Goblin tribe At this moment, they all gazed fervently at the boar's head before them, their eyes filled with awe and anticipation, then they devoutly knelt down in unison.
Then, Brian once again exuded a warm and mysterious flesh and blood energy. In that instant, Brian finally understood that the repeated emergence of this flesh and blood energy was actually derived from the Goblins' devout worship.
However, this kind of worship is not uncommon among many races contracted with various gods. Why haven't other races fallen into becoming evil gods as a result?
"It seems that my knowledge is still too limited. I must go to the vast library in the academy to search for answers. Only then can I find the solution," he frowned slightly, his expression serious as he pondered to himself.
However, what truly delighted Brian was the unwavering devotion shown by the leader Goblin whom he had chosen. Not only that, but Goblin also regularly organized these fixed worship ceremonies. Although Brian had only been bound to this clan for a short time, their steadfast faith was even stronger than that of most deities.
"It's no wonder that the resources I worked so hard to find for you have finally paid off," Brian couldn't help but mutter, his face filled with contentment and satisfaction.
"It seems I can have a conversation with the leader Goblin."
The leader Goblin saw a vague figure appear in his mind, exuding endless majesty as if coming from a distant horizon, and said slowly, "You have done well."
Upon seeing the sudden appearance of the deity, the leader Goblin trembled with excitement, hurriedly prostrating himself on the ground, his voice filled with awe and reverence: "Great deity, I have done so little that it is not worthy of praise."
Brian also did not waste words, understanding the need to maintain his authority in front of the clan, to avoid losing their respect and faith in him: "You have done well, and I will reward you!"
After speaking, Goblin's mind was instantly flooded with a wealth of knowledge, including the "Mushroom Cultivation Handbook" and "Complete Guide to Weapon Crafting" from the god card.
Although not particularly extensive, for Goblin who had never encountered such a wealth of knowledge, it felt like a surging torrent that almost burst his simple mind.
The leader Goblin tried his best, but only managed to remember a part of the content.
Fully aware of the immense value of this knowledge, the devout leader Goblin repeatedly knocked his forehead against the ground, chanting incessantly, "Thank the gods, thank the gods!" The thudding sound of his prostrations echoed continuously in the silent cave, as if it were a hymn to the gods.
The other Goblins stared in astonishment, "Did the Chief really see a deity?"
Seeing this, Brian felt very pleased. His authoritative voice continued to resonate in the Goblin Chief's mind, "I demand a grand worship!"
After saying that, Brian's figure disappeared without a trace.
Because Green Vine and Totem Pole cannot be directly delivered like God Cards, which can ignore the limitations of time and space, these physical items can only be deployed using the power of faith if they are not made into God Cards.
The power of faith that has already been obtained should not be squandered, so it is necessary to have the Goblins provide another wave of faith power.
What is the easiest way to harvest faith power? Of course, it is through a grand and solemn Grand Ceremony!
