"Master, have you tried the Little Lobster Shop?" After pouring drinks for a few old men, Shi Tian spoke up.
There are now four shops in Anyou Town. Don’t underestimate just four shops; they’ve already attracted quite a few diners. With a little time left, Shi Tian wanted to push forward and expand to ten shops.
Opening ten shops isn’t easy, but once they gain traction, replicating them to thirty would be much simpler.
I’ve eaten there once; the taste is decent. When I was your age, I couldn’t replicate their flavors! Yi Laotou said, satisfied with Shi Tian's cooking skills as he took a bite of tofu. It seemed he had been cooking quite a bit lately.
I want to open ten shops in Anyou Town and turn it into a Gourmet Town. Master, would you be interested in starting that shop? Shi Tian learned his culinary skills from Yi Laotou and wanted to pass on a share of the profits to him as a gesture of gratitude.
“Don’t kid me; I’m already retired. You can open as many as you like; it has nothing to do with me.” Yi Laotou rolled his eyes at Shi Tian, clearly uninterested in his proposal.
If it were about opening a Fishing Spot or buying a Fishing Yacht, Yi Laotou would definitely be interested. Cooking for these three old men every day was exhausting enough; he didn’t want to be dragged into opening more shops.
After spending some time with the old men, it seemed Yi Laotou had become smarter. Before Shi Tian could even finish his thought, Yi Laotou caught on.
“Master, I’m not asking you to run it! Here’s my idea: if we have ten different shops and replicate each one three times, that’s thirty shops.”
As he spoke, Shi Tian began explaining the Cha Dong Plan and the plans for Anyou Town.
“Isn’t it just one share you want from me?” Yi Laotou interjected. “Then you can’t break the rules here! Even though my main business is feng shui and cooking is just a hobby, if I get involved in this culinary venture, I’d be benefiting from your efforts.”
There were three business models: the first was straightforward and could be passed on to Luo Yongshan; what he made of it depended entirely on his own luck.
The other two models were different. One was full control, which Shi Tian wouldn’t share; that was between him and Li Ziyu—no one else would get a piece of that pie.
The other model involved taking one share, similar to Cai Mingli’s approach. Shi Tian didn’t want that model; he wanted to package it up and give it to Yi Laotou.
Yi Laotou preferred peace and quiet, making this model perfect for him. If there were no issues, he wouldn’t have to manage anything—just wait for the money to come in. If problems arose, he could just call Li Ziyu to handle it.
Even if one or two shops failed, it wouldn’t affect the overall situation; he could always open two more!
Listening to Shi Tian ramble on about the business model, Old Kong and Old Wen exchanged glances and smiled knowingly. This kid had his own ideas but hadn’t realized he was dragging Yi Laotou into it.
“I don’t need money; why are you telling me all this? You can do whatever you want!” Yi Laotou replied dismissively. “Without Fang Zi around, I’ll get you some when I can! This fried chicken is pretty good; you could open a shop based on just that!” He put down his chopsticks and fixed his gaze on Shi Tian.
No matter how much Shi Tian talked up his plans, Yi Laotou had no intention of taking that share from him. With dozens of disciples sending him money every month, why would he care about this little bit?
Seeing that Yi Laotou remained unmoved, Shi Tian chuckled and said, “Master, I know you’re not short on cash. I’ve been planning how to support you in your retirement and inherit your estate! Making more money isn’t a bad thing; it’ll also boost my enthusiasm for taking care of you!”
As soon as those words left his mouth, Shi Tian received a solid slap on the back of his head.
What kind of disciple is this? He hasn’t even finished learning yet and is already eyeing my estate! Can I even keep this disciple?
Yi Laotou, a free-spirited man without children or family, had taken in over a hundred disciples, considering them his kin. Were they close? They certainly seemed to be during his lifetime! Once he learned to fish, they all followed suit, inviting him daily for fishing trips, not just for companionship but for his skills.
Truth be told, among this group of disciples, some might actually rely on him for their old age and final days!
As he tapped the table lightly, Yi Laotou smiled slightly and said, "It's rare to see you with such intentions. So tell me, do you want me to help you find someone or are you looking for funds to open a shop? Surely you’re not asking me to provide the recipes! Don’t tell me you can’t manage ten recipes on your own!"
Shi Tian wanted his assistance in opening ten shops, which Yi Laotou thought was a bit much. As for the money needed to start a shop, Shi Tian could handle that himself. When it came to recipes, Shi Tian's culinary skills were more than sufficient to run a restaurant; he wouldn’t need to trouble this old man for that.
In Yi Laotou's view, it was far more likely that Shi Tian would need his help in finding suitable candidates.
Yi Laotou nodded, and Shi Tian felt relieved; this was one hurdle cleared!
"I have the recipes; all I need from you is to vet them. No need to make it too extravagant—if it’s too good from the start, it’ll be hard to manage later! I have enough funds for the shop; renting and decorating won’t cost much either. The profits from the Fishing Tackle Shop will be sufficient!"
As for finding candidates, that was the easiest part—very few would refuse a chance to make money! You just wait for your share! If there are any husbands involved, you can take a stroll over there when you have time.
