Under the influence of a few boxes of cigarettes, Oka officially took office. Even without those cigarettes, he would still have to take up his position. While out fishing together, he had no choice but to focus on his catch. After a long day of efforts, Li Yunfei finally arrived as he had hoped. This place was unfamiliar to him; it was his first time here, but he had come because of his son!
He called out over the radio, summoning Pingtou Ge to his rented yacht. Pingtou Ge immediately transformed into a well-behaved child. "Dad! What are you doing here? You've seen it; I've been stuck on this little platform for a month or two! Please transfer me back!" As soon as he stepped onto the yacht, Pingtou Ge began to complain.
This tactic had been honed through long experience and was foolproof. Whenever he complained, Li Yunfei would feel pleased and would never consider transferring him back.
"Are you going fishing today?" Ignoring Pingtou Ge's grievances, Li Yunfei unexpectedly asked.
"Not going fishing? Where can we fish? We’re not allowed to fish on the platform!" He responded quickly, almost revealing too much truth.
Why had Li Yunfei come? He had arrived quietly—what did that mean? Did he want to surprise him? Or was he really planning to transfer him back?
Pingtou Ge regretted speaking too hastily; if Li Yunfei agreed right away, it would be troublesome!
"We're going to catch Tuna! Oh right, there are sharks too!" Lighting a cigarette, Li Yunfei looked at Pingtou Ge with amusement. "Who caught that shark yesterday? It must have weighed around six hundred pounds!"
At the mention of the shark, Pingtou Ge was momentarily stunned.
How did Li Yunfei know about the shark? Who told him? Shi Tian? That couldn’t be possible; Shi Tian wouldn’t know his father!
Who else could it be besides Shi Tian? The people on the boat couldn’t possibly have told him. If Shi Tian had boasted about it to Shi Ye and their friends, they wouldn’t have informed Li Yunfei either. If they were going to tell him anything, they would have done so earlier!
Had he bragged about it on his platform? Did someone report back to Li Yunfei? That seemed plausible! But who had the ability to send a report directly to Li Yunfei?
He had been somewhat neglectful lately—going out on boats and fishing while swapping shifts might have upset some people. But that didn’t seem likely! Everyone on the platform knew him well enough; whenever they sent something over, aside from alcohol, he had never been stingy—he shared whatever he could.
He needed to investigate this matter when he got back; there were certain things that shouldn’t be done secretly. He detested those who engaged in underhanded tactics!
Yesterday a friend had come over to fish; he couldn’t turn down the invitation and ended up taking a trip out at sea with him. Oh right! He caught a Tuna yesterday! When you leave later, take it back with you so you and Mom can taste it! Remember to save a piece for Xiao Yu; this is something his brother caught personally—she should try some too!
