Watching Shi Tian effortlessly charm Li Fei, Hu Shuyi was taken aback. Her future son-in-law was quite impressive; it had been a long time since she had seen that expression on Old Li's face. The last time was quite a while ago, if she remembered correctly, it was when her daughter had given him a hard time.
Sipping his drink in frustration, Li Yunfei reflected on his actions. Engaging in fishing conversations with the Fisherman was foolish—he was merely setting himself up for failure!
"Xiao Tian," he said, "with your skills, you could easily open your own shop and make a good profit. Why do you insist on teaching Cai Mingli?" After suffering losses in fishing, Li Yunfei decided to steer the conversation towards something he excelled at. Surely, he wouldn't be at a disadvantage here!
Upon hearing Li Yunfei's question, Hu Shuyi became curious. Shi Tian's culinary skills were evident from Li Yunfei's enthusiastic eating yesterday! Yet Old Li didn’t even leave a taste for her; she was left only to savor the aroma.
Running a restaurant was exhausting. Wouldn't it be better to have someone help earn money? After downing another drink, Shi Tian began to discuss with Li Yunfei. "If I open a shop, I can't cook everything myself; I need to teach a chef! They are employees who get paid fixed wages and may not care about their work. Plus, you can't guarantee they won't quit!"
Teaching Cai Mingli would be different; he would have more control over the kitchen. For the sake of the restaurant's future, Cai Mingli wouldn't dare slack off. "I’m confident I can recoup my investment within half a year," Shi Tian continued. "As for later on, I still have that ten percent profit margin. Besides, it's my shop; once it's established, he’ll be the boss and will manage the profits carefully."
While chatting with Li Yunfei, Shi Tian didn't intend to delve too deeply into the matter. After today’s meeting, they might as well forget each other in the future. Every word and action revealed Li Yunfei's depth; saying too much would be pointless!
"Getting Li Yunfei to invest? I'd rather focus on Shi Chui and Yun Wan'er. Even if things grow larger, there's still Shi Ye to consider; there's no need to involve Li Yunfei."
"What if he learns your skills and backs out? What if Sanya decides not to open a shop?" Li Yunfei reminded him slowly while sipping his beer.
That possibility was quite high. He had poured all his savings into Heart Sutra to set up this shop; could he just abandon it and start anew in an unfamiliar place? How many people could actually pull that off?
Li Yunfei was both warning and testing Shi Tian to see if he had contingency plans ready! Given Shi Tian's character, expecting him to think three steps ahead might be asking too much; at least he should consider one step at a time!
After discussing several dishes, Shi Tian casually replied, "If he were that greedy, he wouldn't have chosen to leave me that ten percent!"
However, if he truly ditched him, there would be consequences! His skills were taught by him; if he could teach him, why couldn't he teach others?
There were plenty of restaurants around Xi Shuang Jing. He could easily find three or five places slightly farther from Cai Mingli's shop to teach—would that shop still hold any significance?
Just as those words left his mouth, Shi Tian paused—perhaps he had said too much! Cai Mingli didn’t have much of a foundation and wouldn’t escape his grasp. But Li Yunfei had resources! Was this guy really trying to stir up trouble?
"Fei Ge," he warned jokingly, "don’t get any ideas about Cai Mingli! She’s just starting out; I’m trying to help her here—don’t ruin her chances!"
Before Shi Tian could finish his thought, Hu Shuyi chimed in with wide eyes! Old Li was being treated like a thief!
"What do I need to bother him for? If necessary, I can just collaborate with you; it's much more convenient than dealing with him," Shi Tianyi said, his eyes filled with exasperation as he looked at Li Yunfei.
Hearing this, Shi Tian felt a bit relieved. Finding such an honest person like Cai Mingli was not easy. He would be of great use to him in the future, especially when it came to Cha Dong. It was essential to have him on board; losing him to Li Yunfei would be a significant loss.
Once Cai Mingli learned a few dishes, he would immediately send him to Sanya and have Sun Lang and the others keep an eye on him. He couldn't let Li Yunfei take advantage of any openings!
"Xiao Tian, why don't you teach me a few dishes too? I could open a shop in Sanya as well. Don't worry, I'll cover the startup costs myself and give you a share of the profits—how does that sound?" After clinking glasses with Shi Tian, Li Yunfei thought it would be fun to tease him a bit.
This kid was quite amusing; it would be a shame not to joke around with him, especially since he would be heading back to the capital tomorrow. Who knew when they would meet again?
Letting Li Yunfei open a shop? That was out of the question. He was merely trying to have some fun at Shi Tian's expense.
"You can't do it? You're too smart! Smart people shouldn't collaborate with other smart people!" Li Yunfei's words were met with disbelief from Shi Tianyi. The guy who could spend thousands on fishing gear without batting an eye was going to run a shop in Anhe Town? What a joke!
Anhe Town didn't need smart people right now; that wouldn't help his and Li Ziyu's Cha Dong Plan at all. What they needed were honest folks to help develop Anhe Town's Gourmet Town.
As long as Anhe Town developed well, there would be no fear of troublemakers coming around.
Seeing that Li Yunfei still had the leisure to tease Shi Tian, Hu Shuyi shook his head helplessly. "Can't you talk about something serious for once?"
"Xiao Tian, do you have a girlfriend?" he casually asked while handing each of them a bottle of water.
