Upon hearing that Kang Ziyu could operate the boat, Shi Tian immediately became obedient.
No, it wasn't that hot; the coffee smelled delightful. Just one more sip! With a thick skin, he thought, "If there's food to eat, why not?" Since Kang Ziyu could steer the boat, he decided to drop the act. He pressed his hands against the control panel and still showed no intention of reaching for the coffee cup. Instead, he leaned his head closer to Kang Ziyu, waiting for her to feed him.
After sipping the coffee for over ten minutes, Shi Tian placed the empty cup aside. Kang Ziyu didn’t leave; she stayed in the cockpit with him, causing Shi Tian to repeatedly reduce the speed of the boat.
He had no choice but to slow down! Once they arrived and Pingtou Ge boarded, there would be no chance for this again. He couldn’t believe that a single rod could make Pingtou Ge sell out Kang Ziyu!
“Tomorrow we’re going to Xisha. The beaches there are beautiful. How about we go snorkeling? I’ve got all the gear ready for you!”
This couldn’t be mentioned in front of Pingtou Ge. They needed to settle this first. Once they reached Xisha, if they both jumped into Hai Li, it would be out of Pingtou Ge's control.
“Snorkeling? Sounds great! There are so many clownfish in the coral reefs there. Last time I wanted to catch a few to take home, but unfortunately, I couldn’t catch any!”
“Leave that to me; I’m great at catching fish! Just point out which one you like, and I’ll catch it for you!”
During the two-hour journey, Shi Tian chatted with Kang Ziyu for four hours before finally spotting the drilling platform in the distance. Upon seeing it, Kang Ziyu quickly adjusted the radio and called out: “Calling Drilling Platform, this is Air Force number, please respond!”
Seeing Kang Ziyu operate so smoothly surprised Shi Tian. It seemed that Kang Ziyu really knew how to handle a boat; at least she was adept with the radio—she must have spent quite some time in this cockpit.
“Received! Air Force number, please proceed!” As soon as Kang Ziyu relaxed her grip on the controls, a response came through.
“Is Kong Ping there? I need to speak with him!”
“Little Prince has arrived; please hold on while I call Li Ping over!” The reply clearly came from someone else. Kang Ziyu showed no reaction to being referred to as Little Prince; it seemed she was quite familiar with those on board.
As the boat approached the platform and received a response from Pingtou Ge, Kang Ziyu immediately left him behind and ran down to the first-floor deck to greet Pingtou Ge.
When Pingtou Ge boarded, Shi Tian was just about to step outside for some fresh air when she was blocked by Air Force.
The boat was too large and too close to the platform; it wasn’t securely tied up, which posed some danger.
“This side is too close to the platform. Find a fishing spot farther away from it—preferably somewhere quieter!” After giving Shi Tian this order, Air Force left without further ado.
Once they reached Pingtou Ge’s secret fishing spot, Shi Tian finally felt liberated. He regretted listening to Air Force’s advice and getting that useless boating license out of curiosity; it turned out to be nothing but hard labor. No wonder Air Force had been so eager back then; he got his license on that very day—it must have been part of Air Force’s plan all along!
Stepping out of the cockpit and looking up at the deck, he noticed no one was around. It made sense; under such a scorching midday sun, they had probably all gone below deck.
Descending from the second floor to the first deck, he found several people sitting around drinking and chatting—this group certainly knew how to enjoy themselves.
Upon seeing Shi Tian arrive, Pingtou Ge immediately stood up and introduced her to Kang Ziyu: “Xiao Yu, let me introduce you—this is Xiao Tian! She cooks wonderfully! Knowing you were coming today, I didn’t eat dinner last night; I was just waiting for this meal! You’re in for a treat today!”
Kang Ziyu:
"You introduced me to Kang Ziyu but didn’t explain what it means? Are you afraid I might have my eyes on your sister?"
"Hello, Miss," I said with a smile. "My name is Shi Tian. It's a pleasure to meet you. I've covered the meals for this trip, so just let me know what you want, and I guarantee you'll be satisfied!" As I introduced myself, I gently took Kang Ziyu's small hand in mine.
Pingtou Ge seemed pleased with my performance.
"Pingtou Ge, did you not eat dinner last night? Order whatever you like; I'll make it for you!" I said cheerfully as I sat back in my chair.
Hearing this, Pingtou Ge's expression darkened. He shot back, "I’m like a brother to your uncle; how can you call me ‘brother’? That’s not appropriate! From now on, call me ‘uncle’!"
Before I could respond, Shi Ye chimed in from the side.
"What’s wrong with him calling you Pingtou Ge? He calls me Ye Ge! He calls Air Force Jun Ge and Lu Ya Lu Ge. What’s the matter? Do you want to establish a hierarchy or something? Xiao Tian, just call him brother; if he dares to refuse, let us know!"
As Shi Ye spoke, Air Force and Lu Ya crossed their arms and silently watched the unfolding drama.
"Alright, Ye Ge, you have the final say. As long as you're happy!" Shi Ye supported me, and Pingtou Ge immediately backed down; he knew he couldn’t provoke this guy.
Seeing Shi Ye put Pingtou Ge in his place made me smile inwardly. Ye Ge really is impressive!
"Brother, come on, have some tea; it’s too hot today!" I poured tea for everyone and flashed a grin at Pingtou Ge.
