The fish in the front tank had all been sold out, and it was said that they sold quite well, especially the Black Sea Bream, which went for ten dollars each. It wasn’t too much or too little; it was a good deal for a family meal.
I chose the Rod and said to Shi Tianyi, "You go ahead!" Sun Lang held the Lei Qiang Rod in his left hand and the Water Drop Reel in his right, and he started rummaging through the lines again.
"Alright, I’ll go first!" I casually remarked, picking up the Iso Rod that Shi Chui used last night. I grabbed a pack of Black Bream Bait and scooped up a few Live Shrimp before Shi Tian dashed across to the other side.
While it was true that Black Sea Bream were plentiful, I couldn’t just fish for them! I still owed Yi Laotou two hundred thousand; paying off that debt within two months was a bit of pressure. It all depended on how the Fishing Box upgrade turned out!
Recently, the Chou Tiao competition had been sporadic, and the fish across the street were also experiencing feast or famine, as if they were planning to relocate. Liu Ju and Xu Yuanxiang had stopped fishing here, leaving the shop entrance much quieter.
Last week, we held another event and managed to catch quite a few fish, allowing them to celebrate the New Year here and slowing down their migration.
Once I scattered the Black Bream Bait, there was no need to cast it far; I could just drift along the edge! Taking advantage of the midday sun, I aimed to catch ten or so larger Black Sea Bream before it cooled down in the afternoon for some long-distance fishing for big fish.
After three steps, my Rod trembled, and I quickly lifted it. A two-pound La Yue was on the line; this was a cousin of the Black Sea Bream. The only difference was that it was slightly longer. If it had a pair of yellow shoes on, it would be a Yellowfin Snapper.
This fish was getting too big; I couldn’t sell it for ten dollars anymore. Wild ones could be priced at eight dollars per pound, so this one would be worth around two hundred bucks.

I could sell my fish cheaper than at the dock but not lower than what the fishmongers paid; otherwise, Old Zhao would know and start trading Live Shrimp for fish with me!
I attached some Plastic Particles and continued drifting along. After a few passes, my hand jerked again—I had another catch!
A distant relative of the Black Sea Bream, Huo Dian Yu was on my line. Unfortunately, this one was a bit small—less than half a pound—so I unhooked it and tossed it back into the sea to grow bigger. Next year it could fetch ten dollars!
Huo Dian Yu, also known as Fire Spotted Fish, is characterized by a dark spot on its tail. Since it belongs to the same family as the breams, it’s not surprising that this Black Bream Bait worked on them too; after all, they are relatives with similar tastes.

After fishing for over half an hour, I finally caught a ten-dollar fish—a Black Sea Bream weighing just over half a pound. Without hesitation, I tossed it into my Fish Bucket and prepared to drop my line again; otherwise, Sun Lang would come over and disrupt my peace.
Just as I thought of him, there he was! Sun Lang approached with that Lei Qiang Rod in hand, a Lure Bag hanging from his waist, and a small Fish Bucket on his other side. He looked quite serious.
No need to look; that gear wasn’t cheap. Even if the Rod and Hook didn’t cost anything, all those little accessories would add up to several hundred bucks—Control Fish Tool, Lure Pliers, plus the Lure Bag and gloves; those small items in his shop weren’t inexpensive.
"That’s the Lure Area over there; don’t come over here!" Shi Tian quickly warned as he saw Sun Lang heading in his direction. "I just replenished my spot here; I'm counting on fishing to pay off my debts!"
"Pay off debts? What debts? Did you borrow from loan sharks?" Sun Lang shot Shi Tian a glance before looking at his Fish Bucket—one dried fish and one Black Sea Bream—pathetic!
"Old Zhang's yard isn’t cheap; you think you can get it without spending money?" Shi Tian shot back at Sun Lang while pointing towards the patch of weeds in the Lure Area. Once he saw Sun Lang walking that way, he resumed drifting along.
Sun Lang came over for some fun and seemed to bring him luck; before he even cast his line again, another half-pound Black Sea Bream was caught—grandpa plus Zero Point!
As soon as the fish went into his bucket and before he could drop his line again, he saw Sun Lang already catching something!
With a slight smile, it felt just right. Who could use the Water Drop Reel without wasting at least two spools of line? This was just the beginning!
Before casting the rod, I adjusted the Wheel; otherwise, I would end up with a tangled line! I reminded Shi Tian, but he had no intention of helping. I couldn't waste time; I needed to complete the Fishing for Big Fish task—that was the priority!
But it wasn't a big deal to take a moment. I pulled out my phone and snapped a picture of Sun Lang and Chao Fen, casually sending it to the group. After putting my phone away, I continued to fish along the edge!
