I can't believe this! After giving Shi Tian three eye rolls, those guys left without looking back. However, they still recognized what Shi Tian said; being allowed to go fishing by their wives was already a win—what more could they ask for?
"Boss, do you think it would be okay for me to take Su Xueyi camping next Monday? Will she go?" Shi Tian pondered, knowing he had some influence. Those three bros probably wouldn’t take their wives camping, but Sun Lang behind the counter seemed to have his own ideas.
Taking Su Xueyi to a beautiful, secluded spot for camping, fishing, playing in the water, and strolling hand in hand on the grass sounded incredibly appealing!
After glancing at Sun Lang and thinking for a moment, Shi Tian found an excuse to speak up: "Not yet. The three-step plan has only just begun; right now, you’re just picking her up and dropping her off from work!"
In a month, the second step of the plan would be implemented—getting her to move in with you. This way, they could get to know each other better. Once she gradually lowered her guard around you, only then could you invite her to go camping!
Timing was crucial for inviting her camping as well. Right after winter break when her student life was essentially over and she was free from school’s constraints, she would undoubtedly yearn for freedom. That would be the perfect time to ask her!
Could Sun Lang really take Su Xueyi camping? With both of them gone, who would watch the store?
If Kang Ziyu’s shop opened up, he could manage things here while occasionally checking on Kang Ziyu's business; that wouldn’t be a problem.
But since Kang Ziyu's shop wasn’t open yet, why should he be stuck watching the store when he had finally managed to free himself? What a dream that would be!
Last time he went fishing for tuna, he had a great haul. After this week’s Bait Contest, he wanted to spend another three or four days out at sea. If he didn’t keep Sun Lang around, how could he enjoy himself on the water?
Leaving Sun Lang scratching his head in the store, Shi Tian hopped into his car and stepped on the gas back to the villa.
Today’s bait experiment didn’t yield any results; those two damn electricians had disrupted everything. The experiment still needed to continue!
With nightfall approaching quickly, there was no time to waste outside. He prepared a bag of Carp Bait and a bag of Crucian Carp Bait before heading up the mountain with his rod.
When it came to natural waters, nothing could compare to Yuehu.
Finding the right depth for his float without needing to set up his Fishing Box, Shi Tian dropped a handful of Crucian Carp Bait into the water and cast his line.
Crucian Carp Bait and Carp Bait had completely different scents; Crucian Carp Bait was fishy and contained plenty of fish meal. In contrast, Carp Bait was sweet—especially with a hint of sweet potato flavor. To make it, Shi Tian even sacrificed some sweet potatoes he loved roasting!
Once he cast out the Wo Liao bait, its fish-attracting effect was evident; within minutes, a fish bit!
The float slowly rose before finally tipping over on the surface of the water. Shi Tian yanked hard on the line and pulled in a small carp weighing about half a pound!
After putting the fish in his bucket, he continued casting. Just as the float stood halfway up again, it tipped over immediately!
Without hesitation, he lifted his rod to set the hook—regardless of whether it would land or not; better to try than not at all!
In quick succession, three casts brought in three carp; tonight's Milk Fish Soup was definitely happening!
On his fourth cast, as soon as the float stood upright, it was immediately met with a fierce tug! A half-foot-long Qiao Zui came flying out of the water with a sharp pull!
The fish-attracting effect was impressive; however, not all visitors were carp—Bai Tiao and Qiao Zui also enjoyed fishy bait. The Crucian Carp Bait proved attractive to them as well!
He put away his rod and decided to change the fishing spot. After adjusting the float, he cast a handful of Carp Bait into the water, eager to observe its effects. However, he wasn't in a hurry to start fishing; first, he wanted to tease Lao Shi a bit!
"Lao Shi, what are you up to?" He sent a video call to Lao Shi, grinning as he asked.
Shi Tianyi had no idea where these two had gone. Both of their social media accounts had blocked him, so he only received occasional updates about their whereabouts during their chats. As for Yun Wan'er’s earlier plans, he had long lost track of them! After eating Chinese Mitten Crab at Yangcheng Lake, those two headed off to West Lake. Where they had been wandering these past few days was probably known only to them!
"We're filming in Hengdian! When our movie is released, you have to go to the theater and support us!" Lao Shi replied cheerfully from the hotel sofa.
"Filming in Hengdian? So you two are trying to break into the film industry? With your acting skills, you'll probably just be background characters! I doubt you'll even get cast as a supporting role!" Shi Tian teased.
Lao Shi had previously felt jealous when Shi Tian video-called Yun Wan'er and even gave him the cold shoulder for it. But now that he was receiving a video call from Shi Tian, Lao Shi felt a sense of accomplishment. It seemed like he would need to keep reminding Shi Tian of this in the future!
"Filming? Male Lead? You must let me know when it’s released; I promise I’ll go support your big project at the cinema!"
"Is it really that easy to get a release?"
In China, over three thousand films are made each year, but less than thirty percent make it to theaters. Out of that thirty percent, about half are one-day releases with no box office revenue! Only a few manage to stay in theaters for half a month or twenty days—definitely not Chengdu-level productions!
"It can't be that big of a production; it should be within Nan Er Shi," Lao Shi retorted, though his tone lacked confidence.
"What kind of movie are you making? Wouldn't it be better to spend that time fishing?" As he spoke, Shi Tian attached the Fish Bait with one hand and smoothly cast his line into the water—it all felt so natural!
In Yuehu Lake, big fish were still rare. Most Carp weighed around three pounds at most, with ten pounds being exceptional. The one he caught earlier weighed nearly ten pounds; there probably weren't even thirty fish that size in the entire lake!
Even with over a year of construction on the lake, no matter how skilled Shi Ye and his friends were at fishing, big fish remained scarce. Most of what they caught were those that had bred later on.
Without feeding or management, fish growth in such an environment was slow. Aside from Qing Cao Lian Yu, there weren't many fish over ten pounds.
Talking about fishing piqued Shi Chui's interest!
"Do you still have that rod you gave me last time? It was seventy-two thousand for one, right? Can you help me get another one? Let me tell you, just a couple of days ago at West Lake, I caught a Carp over three pounds with that rod!"
Before Shi Chui could finish his sentence, he noticed the float on the screen dip suddenly before hearing the sound of water splashing!
