Having spent a Point, Shi Tian stepped out with a bag of Plastic Particles that resembled pig feed. He hurried to the edge of the Artificial Lake, found a spot with few fish, and tossed a handful of Wo Liao into the water, starting his stopwatch on his phone.
The koi in the Artificial Lake had been trained by Li Ziyu to be quite white. Upon hearing the splash of feed hitting the water, nearby fish immediately rushed over, their speed lacking any semblance of grace!
Shi Tian shook his head in resignation as he stopped the stopwatch; this method didn’t reveal much about the effectiveness! He doubted that even if he tossed a handful of sand, the fish wouldn’t come rushing over, eager to take a taste before deciding if it was worth their time!
He moved to another side of the Artificial Lake. This time, instead of throwing Wo Liao into the water, he placed a handful at the water's edge to see how long it would take for fish to come over and how many would arrive.
The Wo Liao sank silently into the water. With the stopwatch running, within less than a minute, fish within four meters began gathering towards him. The effect was quite impressive!
As time passed, more and more fish swam over. In just a few minutes, all fish within a radius of ten meters had gathered around; Shi Tian was satisfied with this range!
However, once the Wo Liao was devoured, there was little movement from fish further than ten meters away; they showed no interest in the feed. Only a few fish from Xia Yan’s area came over, likely attracted by the current carrying the scent of Wo Liao towards them.
Having spent so much time with a group of Fisherman, Shi Tian had done some research on Wo Liao. Contrary to what vendors claimed about attracting fish from tens of meters away, ordinary Wo Liao could only draw fish from about six meters at best, depending on its scent profile.
In areas with current, it might reach further, but most fish were territorial and reluctant to wander too far from their own grounds.
After testing the speed and range of attraction, Shi Tian smiled slightly and returned to his villa to prepare two pounds of Bait for practical use! The previously drawn Fishing Spot had been nearly depleted by the Bait Contest, and it wouldn’t recover in less than a month! He planned to test out some new Fishing Spots while using Wo Liao, as he needed to hold this week’s Bait Contest and aimed to break one hundred Wan Ji points!
Just as he was about to drive out of the villa area, Shi Tian received a call from Li Ziyu.
“Home? Have you had breakfast? I’ll treat you!” After Shi Tian had taken her out for dinner last night, she woke up early and called him to invite him for breakfast. This way, she could conveniently visit him for meals in the future!
She had dropped Shi Tian off yesterday and didn’t know if he still had his car. Inviting him for breakfast would also allow her to take him to her shop afterward; she still needed to finalize her rental contract with Aunt Zhang!
“Home! Just got up; haven’t eaten breakfast yet!” Slamming on the brakes, Shi Tian pretended seriously: “Are you awake? I’m about to make breakfast; why don’t you come over and eat? I have some special koi feed here; you can take some back for your koi later and see how it works!”
Agreeing to meet for breakfast with Li Ziyu, Shi Tian quickly turned his car around and sped back into his underground garage. He opened the gate in his yard to welcome Li Ziyu’s arrival!
With two hearty breakfasts served on the table, not only did Li Ziyu bring along the koi feed that Shi Tian gifted her, but she also carried a small bucket filled with ten or so Azure Catfish from Shi Tian’s Small Artificial Lake. Satisfied, she led Shi Tian toward her villa.
Yesterday, Shi Tian had promised her some Azure Catfish. Li Ziyu had no intention of being polite; she worked late into the night and partitioned an area in her Fish Pond specifically for Azure Catfish!
This time, Li Ziyu didn’t keep Shi Tian at bay but limited their activities to her yard without any intention of inviting him inside!
Li Ziyu’s yard felt much cozier than his own—filled with fragrant flowers and lush greenery surrounding the walls. A swing chair sat beneath a flower rack beside a tea table adorned with a set of ceramic tea ware that matched perfectly with the flower rack.
As they approached Li Ziyu’s Fish Pond, among the koi that Shi Tian had helped steal over these past few days, some were clearly content with their new home—likely due to their satisfaction with the food available there.
Compared to the meager greenery in his own Fish Pond, Li Ziyu clearly put a lot of effort into this place. Although it was evident that these plants had just been planted, the aquatic vegetation in the pond and the various flowers along the edges were quite impressive.
A fine mesh net divided a corner of the pond, creating a small water bay. It was obvious that this was specially prepared by Li Ziyu for the Azure Catfish. The density of aquatic plants inside was significantly greater, and there were even a few lotus flowers.
As Li Ziyu poured the Azure Catfish into the water bay, he turned around to grab a small bucket filled with numerous Hong Chong. He scooped some with a small net and swished it around in the water bay, attracting the ten or so Azure Catfish to come over and frantically compete for food!
These Hong Chong were originally intended as snacks for the koi, but it was clear that they had now become the main diet for the Azure Catfish. It seemed that from now on, those koi would no longer have a chance to enjoy them!
