Old Gao's continuous output left Liu Lei somewhat at a loss. According to Old Gao, it seemed he had suffered a great injustice! However, Liu Lei was not foolish enough to believe Old Gao's words. A rod that cost six hundred was sold to Old Gao for six thousand? Did Old Gao look like the type to be taken advantage of?
Old Gao stubbornly refused to admit anything, and there was no way for him to argue his way out of this situation. "Old Gao, aren't you close with the brand manufacturer? They recently released a customized rod; you should know about that! If you could help me get one, then I might actually believe you!"
"Don't you like to flaunt your connections, Old Gao? Well, let's see if those connections can get me a customized rod!"
Yi Laotou had said that they didn't accept custom orders. He had gone to the store and confirmed that they indeed did not take custom requests. If Old Gao had the connections to get one made for him, then he would be willing to pay ten thousand!
Liu Lei's words darkened Old Gao's face; this guy was really practical! When he was holding the groceries, he was Gao Ge, but as soon as he put them down, he became Old Gao! If he handed over the groceries now, would Liu Lei start calling him "Gao Thief"?
However, Liu Lei's mention of the customized rod left Old Gao confused. What was a customized rod? He had never seen one in Xing Xing Fishing Tackle Shop!
Not having seen it was actually a good thing! Only things that were unfamiliar could bring in big profits! Using an ordinary rod to deceive people wouldn’t last long; with Xing Xing Fishing Tackle Shop around, business wouldn’t be easy. If he wasn't careful, he might offend all his regular customers!
"Getting a customized rod is no easy task. Let me make a call and check! I’m not sure if it can be done!" Old Gao casually brushed off Liu Lei's request and picked up his phone as he walked outside.
Liu Lei must have gone to Xing Xing Fishing Tackle Shop to find trouble with him; he was too familiar with those groceries! If getting a customized rod were that easy, Liu Lei would have just ordered it from Xing Xing Fishing Tackle Shop instead of coming here to find him.
Once outside, Old Gao glanced back at Liu Lei to confirm he wasn’t following before dialing Shi Tian’s number.
The temperature had risen, and the fish in Ren Lake had retreated to shady spots or deeper waters to escape the sun. Shi Tian and Li Ziyu had already closed up shop and were inspecting their properties!
In the fishing tackle shop, Li Ziyu and Su Xueyi were playing with Tang Tang while Shi Tian and Sun Lang sat at the entrance smoking. When Shi Tian received Old Gao’s call, he was somewhat surprised.
He had just restocked Old Gao before the typhoon; it shouldn’t be time for him to call again so soon! Old Gao was a competent Advanced Tool User; aside from calling when he needed supplies, he rarely bothered Shi Tian otherwise.
"What's up, Old Gao? Sold out already? Need more stock?" Shi Tian joked as he answered the phone.
Whether or not he needed more stock, Shi Tian knew very well. He had a rough idea of how much Old Gao sold in a day. The last batch of supplies he sent should last that guy at least half a month!
"Shi Zong, help me! I'm being cornered by someone with groceries in my shop!" Hearing Shi Tian's voice, Old Gao quickly began to complain.
Upon hearing this from Old Gao, Shi Tian jumped up abruptly. Was Old Gao being chased? Should he rush over to see what was happening? Maybe he could witness the scene of the crime!
But thinking about Old Gao’s size, Shi Tian slowly sat back down. Groceries didn’t hold much power in Old Gao’s shop; even that barbell behind the counter wouldn’t earn him any advantage if someone swung it at him!
"Being chased? What good is that to me? I'm just a small fry!" Shi Tian replied lazily as he leaned back in his chair.
Before Old Gao could respond, Shi Tian continued gleefully, "Old Gao! Who told you to be so black-hearted? You’ve done so many bad things that karma is catching up with you!"
Shi Tian had seen Old Gao's dark side before. He could flip a two-dollar hook and turn it into thirty. What couldn't this guy do? Dealing with someone like Old Gao required caution; one had to be careful not to be led by the nose. Once he took control, getting tricked was only a matter of time.
Listening to Shi Tian's teasing, Old Gao was left speechless, feeling like he had encountered someone who thrived on chaos.
"Shi Zong, I heard you have a kind of Customized Rod? What's the price for bulk orders?" Shi Tian was unpredictable, and Old Gao didn’t dare to play tricks on him.
The profits from the Star Brand Hook and fishing line had already helped him buy a new car. If this trend continued for another month or two, upgrading to a new house shouldn't be a problem.
The quality of the Star Brand Hook was excellent, and the fishing line was incredibly durable. He had been researching broadcasting recently, and once that took off and sales increased, switching houses would be a breeze.
"Customized Rod? You seem pretty well-informed! Each one costs Seventy-Two Thousand, but these won't be sold in bulk. Besides, we’re not taking any more custom orders right now, so don’t even think about it!"
Old Gao knew about the Customized Rod? This was getting interesting!
Earlier that day, a buyer for a Customized Rod had come into the shop. After checking the surveillance footage, he realized he had never seen this person before! However, later on, Li Ziyu scanned his phone and discovered that he was a Fishing Streamer with professional competition credentials.
Not long after leaving, this person went straight to Old Gao's place? What kind of connection did he have with Old Gao?
It didn’t really matter what their relationship was; having this Streamer customize a rod wasn’t a bad idea. They could slap a big Trademark on it and let the Streamer promote it.
Old Gao wasn’t worried that the Streamer would cover up the Trademark with tape; after all, Customized Rods were all about feel. If tape was wrapped around the rod, what difference would it make from an Ordinary Rod?
"Come on, Shi Zong! You have to help me out! I'm stuck in here with someone demanding a Customized Rod! Without that rod, my life is in danger! I don’t mind dying myself, but who will sell your Hooks if I’m gone?"
Old Gao’s tearful plea made Shi Tian shake his head in disgust. When it came to acting skills, Old Gao didn’t even make the cut!
"No way! It’s that bad? Alright then, sell three thousand boards of Hooks, and I'll give you one custom order slot. How does that sound?"
Based on Old Gao's usual sales volume, three thousand boards of Hooks would probably last him over a month.
One custom order slot per month meant only twelve rods in total—an amount that could easily be overlooked.
