Old Kong and Old Wen wandered around the yard, admiring the mountains, while Old Liu led two girls upstream along the Artificial River. The villa area had been bustling with activity lately, filled with workers busy with construction, especially upstream of the Artificial River. At the foot of the mountain outside the villa area, a group of people was calculating how to divert the spring water flowing down from the valley into the Artificial River.
The workers on the construction site were all from the district, wearing hats in red, white, yellow, blue, and black, each color representing a different trade. The Red Hat was the Client's father, the site manager. Although he didn't do any physical work himself, his words could determine the fate of everyone else on site; he was at the top of the construction food chain.
Given the importance of connecting the Mountain Spring Water to the Artificial River, Red Hat was present on-site, listening to several White Hats pointing things out. The White Hats didn't do manual labor either; they were engineers with technical expertise. They knew exactly how to carry out the work, what materials were needed, and where to dig.
After reporting their plans to Red Hat and receiving his approval with a signature, the White Hats could then direct the Yellow Hats to start working. The Blue Hats also didn't do any physical labor; their job was to oversee the Yellow Hats. They ensured that cement met specifications, that rebar was of the correct grade, and that every batch of cement was up to standard. All these responsibilities fell under the Blue Hats' purview.
Consequently, Blue Hats were often not well-liked on construction sites; their role was to nitpick and find faults with the Yellow Hats' work. Both Yellow Hats and White Hats tended to dislike them.
There weren't many Black Hats; they served as security guards for the site. Because they were few in number, it wasn't uncommon for some rebar or cement to go missing. However, access to the villa area was restricted; ordinary people couldn't enter, and even Black Hats weren't stationed there!
Red Hat represented the Clients living in the villa area, people whom Old Liu had no intention of interacting with. Old Kong had informed him that this villa area belonged to Shi Ye and that Air Force wouldn't allow him to go Fishing for Big Fish there; thus, they certainly wouldn't permit anyone else to fish either. That Fishing Spot was likely created by those three fellows. If they planned to sneak off for some fishing, they had to ensure they didn't alert anyone from the villa area!
As a group of workers dispersed, Liu Laoyezi pulled a White Hat aside and offered him a cigarette while asking casually, "Young man, I live here and wanted to ask if fishing is allowed in the river up in the mountains?"
By establishing his identity first, he hoped to avoid any misunderstandings and make his inquiry easier.
In such a high-end villa area, anyone who could live here wasn't an ordinary person. After lighting up a cigarette, the White Hat pondered for a moment.
A river in the mountains? Where is there a river around here? There’s a Spring Water source up there, but it definitely doesn’t have any fish; you can see right to the bottom! Not even a Xiaomi could survive in there! Where would there be fish?
After replying to Liu Laoyezi briefly, the White Hat paused before saying, "You must be talking about Xinyue Lake! Fishing isn’t allowed there; there are always people monitoring while workers are on site. Who knows what precious fish are being raised in that lake!"
This group was part of those working on Xinyue Lake's project. They were supposed to finish up and head home but were called back by Lu Ya for more work that would take at least another half month.
"Yes, Xinyue Lake! Is there a way to get there from here?" Old Liu asked as he discreetly slipped an opened box of cigarettes into the White Hat's hand.
Yesterday Old Wen and Old Kong had already deduced that this Fishing Spot was halfway up the mountain. Regardless of whether Xinyue Lake was indeed that Fishing Spot or not, it was worth probing further.
If they couldn't go this way, how about Xinyue Lake? It could only be accessed from a back entrance of the villa area," pointed out White Hat casually towards the northeast corner of the villa area.
After just one puff from his cigarette, White Hat realized this old man's smokes were quite good. Looking at that unbranded box in Xia Shou's hand made him feel it was better to establish good relations.
"Thanks, young man!" Having obtained what he wanted to know, Old Liu lost interest in lingering around. He thanked White Hat again before turning back towards the villa area with two girls in tow.
"Captain, this is the surveillance room. There are a few people moving around the Back Villa Area, specifically near the Back Mountain East Gate. They have divided the villa area into the Front Area and the Back Area. The Front Area refers to the hotel section, while the Back Area consists of twenty villas that have very few occupants.
Usually, their tasks mainly involve monitoring the Front Area. For the Back Area, they just need to patrol in a small electric vehicle three times a day, primarily relying on the surveillance room to ensure its safety. Recently, there has been a lot of construction in the villa area, and personnel in the Back Area have become somewhat mixed. During the day, there are usually one or two security guards keeping an eye on that area, but they mainly focus on the construction site in the northwest corner.
Monkey, can you handle it? Hurry over to the Back Mountain East Gate and secure the situation; I’ll follow shortly! As soon as he heard about someone moving at the small east gate in the back mountain, the security captain became anxious.
Shi Ye had specifically instructed him to keep an eye on that small east gate; no one was allowed to open it except for Shi Tian. Shi Tian was the one who got involved there, and if he wanted to fish for a couple of hours, Shi Ye and his team wouldn’t stop him. But just Shi Tian alone—how many fish could he possibly catch?
Before the security captain could set off, he heard another message from the surveillance room through his walkie-talkie. "Monkey, hurry! They’re climbing over the wall!"
Hearing this made the security captain even more anxious. He quickly pulled out his walkie-talkie and ordered the surveillance room: "Use the intercom to tell them to stay put; we’re on our way!"
"Monkey, you need to get over there quickly. If even one person gets out, forget about this month’s bonus!"
Meanwhile, Old Liu had gathered information about how to reach Xinyue Lake. The three old men didn’t rush to set off; instead, they took two girls back to the hotel under the pretext of it being too hot and needing a nap.
Once the two girls went upstairs, the three old men sneaked out with their fishing gear and headed towards the Northeast Small Gate of the back mountain. However, upon arrival, they were taken aback—the gate was locked and they didn’t have a key.
Not being able to open the door wasn’t a big deal; they could always skip fishing today. They decided to send someone to scout out Xinyue Lake first. As long as they confirmed their target, whether under the banner of Air Force or Shi Ye or by manipulating Shi Tian, they would surely find a way for Shi Tian to open that door.
As for who would be sent to scout Xinyue Lake? Naturally, it would be Old Liu since he was in good shape!
The three men circled around the small gate’s fence half a turn before finally finding a relatively flat spot. Just as Old Liu was about to climb over, they heard an announcement from surveillance that left them dumbfounded—they had been discovered!
Back at the shop, Shi Tian was watching over things while Sun Lang drove off. He was quite eager when it came to picking up Su Xueyi. After not seeing her for two days and sixteen hours, his longing had become unbearable.
Sun Lang definitely wouldn’t return for lunch; he still didn’t know where he would take Su Xueyi for some fun! He needed to stay at the shop and couldn’t leave. He opened up food delivery apps on social media; he could manage with just two meals at home.
Before any food arrived, Shi Tian received a call from Manager Liu about Three Old Men climbing over walls. Hearing this made Shi Tian’s scalp tingle!"
