If that's not enough, how about triple?" Seeing someone parking at the shop entrance, a fisherman at the counter immediately got into character and started acting with Old Gao.

"The sets on the counter are samples from the manufacturer; they can't be sold! When new stock arrives, I'll call you first so you can come pick them up." Hooks weren't expensive; it was common among fishing buddies to borrow hooks from each other. A set of hooks cost less than two cigarettes; just hand over a smoke and borrowing hooks became easy.
"Lao Lu has arrived—perfect timing! You can help settle this!" Lao Ma said. "Old Gao has a new type of pin hook that can lift heavy weights. Did you see those two dumbbells hanging in the corner? That's what I'm talking about!"
Following Lao Ma's lead, Lao Lu also spotted those two dumbbells hanging in the corner—one weighing ten pounds and another also ten pounds. Upon closer inspection, he found that lifting both dumbbells were two sets of fish hooks; one attached to a ten-pound dumbbell was either size 1 or size 2 Ise Nii hooks, while the other ten-pound one had an even more outrageous size 1 or size 2 Sleeve Hook!
The absurdity wasn't just in how hooks lifted dumbbells but also in how they were tied. The line used for Ise Nii hooks was thicker, while that for Sleeve Hooks appeared even more ridiculous—who knew what kind of line it actually was?
After inspecting one of the dumbbells and confirming it was fine, it became clear that the problem lay with the hooks and lines—they were something else entirely!
Noticing Lao Lu's interest in these hooks, Lao Ma leaned in closer: "Did you see that? It's this kind of hook! They clearly have them on display at the counter but refuse to sell them!"
Leading Lao Lu to the counter, Lao Ma pointed out the hooks on display and began explaining them. But within moments, they were arguing with Old Gao again!
"Well, if you’re not selling, then you’re not selling!" Old Gao has his reasons for not selling; we need to understand that! Otherwise, if he had the money, he wouldn’t hesitate to make a profit! Trying to ease the situation, Lao Lu said to Old Gao, who was standing behind the counter, "It’s fine if you’re not selling this Hook, but can you at least show it to us?"

Hearing Lao Lu ask for Zhangoukan, Old Gao sincerely turned around and began searching. "I should still have a few Zhangoukan around; it’s just that not many people use it, so I’m not sure where I put them. Let me look for you!"
As Old Gao turned to find Zhangoukan, Lao Lu took advantage of the moment to stack the Hooks together and pocket them. He casually pulled out his phone and scanned the code before heading towards the door. "I’ve sent the money over. If there’s a Pin Gou available, then there’s no need for Zhangoukan; don’t bother looking!"
After saying that, he got into his car and revved the engine, leaving Old Gao in a cloud of exhaust.
Watching Lao Lu leave, Old Gao shook his head and sang: "I’m admiring the mountain view from the city tower while hearing chaos from outside the city."
Selling more than one set of Hooks a day with such small tricks definitely won’t work. After finishing a verse of "Empty City Stratagem," Old Gao poured a cup of tea for Lao Ma in the shop. "Liu Lei and his team should be arriving soon; we’ll need their help with these good goods. They’re into Competition fishing, so I estimate they’ll want at least sixty sets today!"

Hearing this, Old Gao shot Lao Ma a glance.

With new hooks and lines, they are understandably cautious. Buying three or five sets and casually testing them on a Heikeng for half a day would reveal all the performance characteristics of those Hooks and lines.
Ordinary fishermen don’t have high demands for hooks and lines, but in Competition fishing, every factor related to hooks and lines must be considered! With similar performance levels, if your sub-line is one size thinner than others', your catch rate will be higher!
Renowned fishing teams will have sponsored gear and even their own brands. They can’t just use their sponsor's rods during competitions but switching out lines is definitely acceptable!
