Returning from the pond, the old man bent down to pick up a stone and walked across the road to place it under a Coconut Tree. From a distance, it looked perfectly natural.
This pond was quite nice; although not large, it was teeming with fish, and it seemed no one had fished here before. He could enjoy himself for several more days!
When it came to experience, Shi Tian had to admire the old man. If he had placed his marker across the road yesterday, he wouldn’t have had to return after leaving the path!
The old man was in a good mood because of his successful catch that day. He had landed a big fish over a pound, three more weighing three or four pounds each, plus over ten small Carp about the size of his palm. Among them, his haul was the best.
Shi Ye and the others were somewhat better off than Shi Tian, as they had some skills to back them up. Bai Tiao and Mai Sui didn’t count, but they still managed to catch several Carp weighing around half a pound each, so they wouldn’t be going home empty-handed.
If we were to consider the number of fish caught rather than their size, Shi Tian undoubtedly had the most. He had been catching Bai Tiao from the start until the end, even taking a break for over half an hour to cook. Compared to Shi Ye and the others, he still spent significantly more time fishing for Bai Tiao.
The old man was considerate; after a long day of fishing, he didn’t make Shi Tian cook again but ordered food from the hotel instead. After eating and drinking well, Shi Tian prepared to go back and count his fish.
While the old man let Shi Tian off easy, Shi Ye and Air Force had no intention of doing the same. They followed Shi Tian back to the villa and jumped into his swimming pool again, fully clothed, waiting for him to prepare Iron Plate Squid for them.
It wasn’t easy for the old man to come all the way to Sanya; Air Force planned to show him around properly. Since Shi Tian hadn’t taken him out for fun after arriving in Sanya either, they agreed to spend two days together enjoying themselves.
As for Lu Ya, he didn’t have time for leisure; he needed to keep an eye on Cheng’s progress up in the mountains.
After frying a few Squid and enjoying them with beer, Shi Tian sat with two bowls on one side counting his Bai Tiao.
Having caught so many fish that day, although they didn’t weigh much altogether, counting them accurately was no easy task!
“What do you need to count those for? We’ll just toss them into Hai Li by the seaside later; that counts as bait!” Shi Ye asked somewhat speechlessly while pouring beer into Xia Shou.
Shi Tian’s White-striped Wheat Ear were simply too small; there was no way they could be eaten. Once cooked, they would turn mushy and definitely needed to be disposed of.
Throwing them in the trash would be wasteful; dumping them at the reef into Hai Li might yield some decent sea fish later on. Xiao Yu could trade for bigger fish—now that was a good deal!
“Count them clearly so you can post on social media!” he thought. After all, he had caught hundreds of fish today; in terms of quantity alone, wasn’t that something impressive?
Shi Tian replied earnestly and then looked up at Shi Ye with a confused expression: “How many did I count just now?”
His words left the three stunned; it seemed he actually had a point! They then pulled out their Fishing Boxes and began selecting their fish.
Unlike Shi Tian’s indiscriminate approach, they were selective about which fish to keep. The White-striped Wheat Ear didn’t grow large enough; if they took pictures of those, no one would believe them. They only picked Qiao Zui and Carp.
Shi Tian could only helplessly start counting his fish again since he needed to match them against the Points on his phone—he couldn’t let that Rogue Software trick him!
“One Bottle won’t do; it looks too fake! If I take pictures like this, all these Qiao Zui will look like they’re rice-sized! Even if it’s Heikeng, no one would believe it!”
There were too few Carp; he needed to borrow some from Xiao Tian since those fish were smaller. A good mix in size would make everything seem more realistic—that’s how you create Ye Diao!
After so many years of fishing, can you really not tell Qiao Zui from Mai Sui? This one Mai Sui is showing its belly—it ruins the whole picture!
Their equipment was far too professional, with items like Sprite cans and smoke roll boxes, just like the old actors, which came in various models, from number one to ten, all complete!
Not only that, but to take photos, they even found a few mini fishing rods, ranging from a few centimeters to a meter long, which looked just like the real thing. To prevent any awkward angles, there was also a specially made backdrop that made it look like the fish were placed on grass by the riverbank. The photos turned out perfectly, without any hint of abnormality.
With a few clicks, the three finally captured photos they were satisfied with. They put away the old actors while the temporary actors were dumped directly into Shi Tian's basin by Lu Ya, allowing him to continue counting and playing.
When Shi Tian saw the fish dumped in, he was dumbfounded. How could he count them now? Seeing that Shi Tian had stopped counting, Lu Ya became interested and poured the fish into a bucket before heading to the beach.
As Shi Ye and Air Force went off to have fun, he found himself alone. He decided to head up the mountain to keep an eye on things. Taking a break from his busy schedule, he thought it would be nice to cast a few lines at the rocks with his rod.
Shi Tian lay back on a beach chair in a daze while Shi Ye and Air Force excitedly showcased their catches on their phones.
Ye Diao and Qiao Zui were all small fish; not one weighed over three pounds! Frustration filled the air as envy and curses erupted below.
"Big shot, as fellow fishermen, share a fishing spot! I promise not to bring anyone else!"
"A young lady of eighteen seeks your guidance; I’ll be obedient and warm your bed!"
"Do you need a driver? I can bring the car, supplies, and fuel—no strings attached!"
Based on photos from two days ago, they had roughly calculated this guy's location. Were there any groups planning to ambush him?
Shi Ye and his friends were not just playing around in their social circles; they mainly engaged on short video platforms and forums rather than just sharing with family. Showing off their catches around the neighborhood wouldn’t work here; thus, they took another route and flaunted their catches online to provoke those in Air Force and Da Gui Lao.
After seeing Shi Ye and the others off and tidying up the yard, Shi Tian quickly dashed into his bedroom to check his phone. The points in his fishing box left him in disbelief.
He had caught quite a few fish—he had counted half of them earlier—over two hundred! By that estimate, he should have around a hundred points.
However, the fishing box showed over nine hundred points; there was definitely something amiss here.
