Since this guy made him unable to stay at home, he decided to find him, eat his food, and stay at his place! Whenever he was done having fun, he could come back and inherit the family business without any rush!
In fact, Shi Tian knew that even if he ran away, Shi Chui and Yun Wan'er could still travel without any issues. With his family's foreign trade company, there wasn't much difference between Shi Chui and Yun Wan'er. They were both familiar with the operations and the employees were trustworthy veterans. As long as he gave some instructions and held regular video conferences, the company could still function smoothly!
Before setting off, he needed to install some essential social media apps on his phone, such as map navigation and flight and hotel booking apps. If he waited until he needed them to install them, it would likely consume a lot of data!
With limited money, it was best to save wherever possible; phone calls also cost money, and exceeding data limits was painful.
Installing social media apps wasn't difficult, but when Shi Tian tried to do so, something went wrong. An unfamiliar icon suddenly appeared on his phone!
This was an app downloaded from the app store. If it had been on a computer, he would have accepted it as a bundled app that could be easily uninstalled. However, having an unexpected app on his phone was hard for him to accept!
He long-pressed the icon and selected uninstall! Unfortunately, there was no uninstall option at all!
Was it pre-installed? That shouldn't be the case! He hadn't upgraded anything recently! There was no way an app could just appear out of nowhere!
One social media app wasn't a big deal, but for someone like Shi Tian who had a bit of obsessive-compulsive disorder, having something suddenly added to his phone was absolutely unacceptable!
Shi Tian admired a certain Zhang Xing Star who had six or seven hundred social media apps on his phone, all categorized into corresponding folders with matching icons.
Shi Tian also had standards for his phone and computer desktop; he didn't have the energy to arrange all those things. Thus, his computer screen only displayed one Recycle Bin icon, which was always empty.
There was a time when he thought the Recycle Bin was unnecessary. If he wanted to delete something, he just did it directly—what use was there in keeping a Recycle Bin?
However, after using it for a while—perhaps due to habit or simply worrying about whether the Recycle Bin was full—he eventually dragged the Recycle Bin icon out for easy access to empty it. This was the biggest compromise he had made.
He powered on his computer and connected his phone. To delete this social media app, he decided to give his phone a good reset!
With the phone rebooted, all system apps could be deleted; however, this particular social media app remained stubbornly installed. That was frustrating!
But with super administrator privileges, he could delete anything in the system. Yet here he was, powerless against this social media app occupying his screen.
After struggling for half a day without being able to delete the rogue software, the icon changed from mocking him to looking down on him and then finally to outright ignoring him!
There’s a limit to what one can tolerate! He decided to restore his phone to factory settings; he couldn’t believe that restoring everything wouldn’t solve this rogue software issue!
After a night of struggle, not only did Shi Tian fail to uninstall this social media app, but its icon also transformed from mockery to disdain and then contempt until it became completely indifferent!
Upon restoring factory settings and restarting the phone, this social media app popped up immediately again—time for flashing the firmware!
He downloaded the firmware package from the official website; after flashing it, even the desktop background of his phone displayed that contemptuous icon!
The official firmware package didn’t work, so I had to resort to a custom one, and I even found an older version. After going through the process, this time the boot animation featured a new icon, and the expression in that icon's gaze shifted from disdain to amusement!
It was as if it was looking at Shi Tian, enjoying the sight of him wanting to take it down but being utterly helpless against it! As for this Social Media platform, Shi Tian was at a loss! If it were a computer, he could still work around it, but with a phone, there was no way he could just swap out the motherboard! It would be much simpler to just get a new phone!
Since he felt powerless against this Social Media, he decided to see what it really was! After disconnecting the network and removing the card from the Router, Shi Tian went through the steps and activated Social Media. The four characters “Yizhi Qiling” flashed across the screen, and then Shi Tian fell into a deep sleep until Da Tian knocked on his door in the morning to wake him up.
“Get up, it’s time for breakfast! There’s nothing to do at home; come fish with me later!” Shi Chui said as he peeked into Shi Tian’s bedroom and saw him groggily resting his head on the table.
Fishermen are very particular about timing; they set off at four in the morning to start fishing before sunrise, as the fish tend to bite until around ten o’clock. If they wake up late, they can only wait until two or three in the afternoon because the afternoon bites usually start after three.
As he fumbled for his phone on the table and checked the time, Shi Tian felt a bit speechless. His plans for leaving home were definitely not going to happen now; he still hadn’t resolved that Rogue Software issue on his phone. He could only rely on his last resort: getting a new phone!
Buying a new phone was no small expense; even the cheapest ones cost at least one or two thousand dollars. He didn’t want to dip into his meager savings for that; he’d have to get it from Shi Chui or Yun Wan'er instead.
Going fishing with Shi Chui? Shi Tian wasn’t particularly interested. Not to mention anything else, just dealing with mosquitoes in early autumn could drive anyone crazy! However, since Shi Chui had invited him, Shi Tian found it hard to refuse. After all, compared to Yun Wan'er’s wallet, it was much easier to dig into Shi Chui’s!
