Huang Ling interrupted her without mercy, her eyes filled with a sharp sarcasm that seemed ready to spill over. She took a small step forward, crossing her arms, and continued, "So tell me, with all the changes you've made to that house—changing locks, redecorating—how does that resemble a proper tenant? It looks to me like you want to take over someone else's place and turn their belongings into your own. You say you're carefree, but your mind is not on serious matters; instead, you're busy scheming these underhanded tricks. You should know that there’s no such thing as a free lunch in this world. If you continue to act recklessly like this, be careful not to end up with a bloody nose from a big fall. When that happens, don’t come crying to anyone."
Wu Shanshan's family was left speechless by Huang Ling's relentless and sharp words, sitting awkwardly in silence. The once harmonious atmosphere had turned painfully awkward, as if the air itself had solidified, leaving only Huang Ling's mocking gaze to traverse the room.
After Wu Shanshan fell silent, Teacher Zhuang nodded at Huang Ling and gave her a thumbs up, saying, "Huang Ling, you were amazing today! I’ve always seen you as polite and reserved; I didn’t expect you to show such spirit today. You surprised me."
As she changed her shoes, Huang Ling replied, "Teacher Zhuang, I didn’t want it to come to this, but Wu Shanshan and her family are too much. They rented Song Ying's house but are constantly thinking of how to make it their own—changing this and that. If I continued to pretend to be polite with them, wouldn’t Song Ying’s house be completely taken over? I can’t just stand by and watch."
Teacher Zhuang sat down on the sofa and gestured for Huang Ling to join her. "You did the right thing," she said. "But they seem like a tough bunch. Now that you’ve laid everything out in the open with them today, aren’t you worried they might try to retaliate or cause trouble for you later?"
Huang Ling plopped down onto the sofa with wide eyes and said defiantly, "What do I have to fear? I haven’t done anything wrong. If they dare to cause trouble, I’ll stand my ground against them. If I had let it slide today, they would only feel more justified and become even more arrogant."
Teacher Zhuang looked at Huang Ling and smiled. "Ah, you have such a straightforward personality. While it’s good that the conflict is out in the open now rather than hidden away, just be cautious moving forward. Whatever happens, I’ll be here for you; we’ll figure it out together."
Huang Ling felt warmth in her heart upon hearing this and said to Teacher Zhuang, "Thank you so much for being here today; I really didn’t know what I would have done without you. I got a bit carried away earlier and was worried about saying the wrong thing."
Teacher Zhuang patted Huang Ling's hand reassuringly and said, "Don’t worry; you did great today. We’ll face this together and surely find a good solution."
