After the competitions and gatherings in the capital had come to an end, Suzhou set out on the journey home, filled with exhaustion yet carrying dreams in her heart. After a long and winding trip, she finally arrived at her familiar home in Guangzhou. 0

As soon as she stepped through the door, Song Ying emerged from the kitchen, spatula in hand. Upon seeing her daughter, she froze for a moment, and then her eyes turned red. Lin Xiao Yu stood before her, looking much thinner than when she had left home. The baby fat that once adorned her face had vanished, leaving her with a sharp chin and an air of weariness that spoke of hard times. Song Ying hurriedly dropped what she was holding and rushed forward to grasp Lin Xiao Yu's hand, exclaiming, "Oh my daughter, how did you get so thin!" Her voice trembled with emotion, filled with concern as she looked her daughter up and down, as if trying to uncover all the hardships Lin Xiao Yu had endured during her absence. 0

Lin Wufeng came out of his study and was equally taken aback by Lin Xiao Yu's appearance. His brows furrowed tightly, and his eyes behind his glasses were filled with worry. "My dear daughter, how much hardship have you faced out there? You've lost so much weight." He gently patted Lin Xiao Yu's shoulder, his touch tender as if afraid to hurt her. 0

Seeing her father's reaction made Suzhou's eyes misty as well, but a smile lingered on her lips. She quickly opened her bag and carefully took out the trophy and certificate she had earned from the competition, presenting them solemnly to her parents. "Dad, Mom, look! I haven't let you down; these are all my hard-earned achievements." The sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the shiny trophy and casting a myriad of sparkling reflections. 0

Song Ying and Lin Wufeng took the items in their hands, their eyes instantly lighting up. The worry on their faces was replaced by joy. Song Ying held the trophy tightly as if it were a rare treasure, her eyes crinkling with delight. "Oh my daughter, you’ve done so well! Our wall can add another honor now!" Lin Wufeng nodded vigorously beside her, patting Lin Xiao Yu's back with pride. "Well done, daughter! Your hard work has turned into this glory; your mother and I are truly happy for you!" The family gathered together, filling the room with warmth and joy. 0

After dinner, they sat together on the living room sofa under the soft glow of warm yellow lights. Suzhou took a deep breath and broke the momentary silence by recounting Ma Zhao Zhao's proposal from Beijing to her parents in detail. 0

"Mom and Dad, my teammate Ma Zhao Zhao from Beijing has connections in the performing arts industry and is quite optimistic about me," Suzhou said while unconsciously gripping the hem of her clothes. She glanced at her father’s face for his reaction. "She suggested that I stay in Beijing after graduation to join their company. They have professional training teachers and opportunities to perform on big stages. There’s even a chance for me to debut with my teammates and make a name for myself in the industry." 0

Listening intently, Song Ying first showed hesitation as she set down her sewing project and frowned slightly. "Daughter, Beijing is far from home; it's unfamiliar territory. While there are many opportunities, we worry about whether you can take care of yourself. Also, will everything go smoothly joining their company? We don’t want you to suffer any grievances." 0

Lin Wufeng cleared his throat and adjusted his glasses, his expression serious yet contemplative. "Sweetheart, from a career development perspective, this is indeed a rare opportunity. A big stage can provide valuable experience; if you achieve success there, your future could be limitless. However, our connections are here in Guangzhou; if you go to Beijing, you'll have to start from scratch on your own." He paused for a moment before looking into his daughter's expectant eyes. "But if you truly yearn for this and believe you can handle the pressure, your mother and I will support you because you have this talent; you should explore broader horizons." 0

Lin Wufeng then asked, "Have you discussed this with Lu Zean? What are your thoughts on that?" 0

Suzhou was taken aback by her father's question; a faint blush crept onto her cheeks as she bit her lip, unsure of how to respond. 0

Seeing her daughter's expression made Song Ying sigh softly and speak earnestly: "Daughter, you and Lu Zean have always had a good relationship; we've noticed that too. If you go to Beijing now, it will only make things more distant between you two. Long-distance relationships are already tough enough; both of you are pursuing your careers now—there will be many challenges ahead." 0

Lin Wufeng continued thoughtfully: "Yes, Lu Zean is studying in England right now. If he comes back while you're in Beijing, you'll see each other less frequently; maintaining your relationship will be difficult. But if you give up such a great opportunity in Beijing just for love, you'll likely feel regret later." He paused again before adding gently: "You both need to weigh your career aspirations against your feelings carefully; don’t let one overshadow the other." 0

Suzhou lowered her gaze in contemplation as memories of sweet moments spent with Lu Zean flashed through her mind like scenes from a movie. The dazzling lights of the stage in Beijing and the enthusiastic applause from audiences also surfaced in her thoughts. Conflicted emotions swirled within her as she murmured: "Mom and Dad, I haven’t talked it over with him yet; I’m worried too about how to balance everything." At that moment, the intertwining paths of love and career ahead seemed increasingly complex and left her feeling both confused and anxious. 0
