Prologue
Where the Intent and Emotion Sword passes, there lies devastation.
The Heavenly Emperor stroked Beard and couldn't help but sigh, "Alas, she has truly wasted your heartfelt efforts."
Divine Lord, clad in white, stood atop Jade Garden, like a gentle breeze that cleanses the heart.
He gazed foolishly at his Xuanqing Sword, which seemed untouched by dust, as if he were about to forget that this very sword had just slain a horde of demons.
Among the demons, she was the one with unparalleled grace.
To slaughter for suppression—does that count as going against the Dao? To take the life of a beloved—does that also count as going against the Dao? After cultivating for thousands of years, it was only in that moment when he saw her essence extinguished that he finally understood.
The Dao is loving you and me, yet never being able to be together.
I. Love at First Sight
In the vicinity of Chong Qingshan, the Fox Clan had dwindled significantly. The so-called revival of their race rested on the shoulders of the still somewhat naive white fox, Bi Qing.
Bi Qing squatted atop the mountain peak, sighing as it licked its fluffy little paws, feeling a tangle of confusion: After four hundred years of cultivation, why could it still not transform into a human?
Forget it. Bi Qing shook its head, casting aside the tangled thoughts. Perhaps fate had its own plans; worrying was pointless. It couldn’t possibly steal a human heart just to gain a human form, could it?
"Little fox, are you hungry?" A gentle voice unexpectedly flowed into Bi Qing's ears, accompanied by an outstretched hand before it, holding three plump red berries that looked incredibly tempting.
Its thoughts were thrown into disarray once more as the tangled feelings returned.
Bi Qing lifted its Purple Gold eyes and saw a handsome man who looked far from ordinary. Dressed in a white robe, he contrasted sharply with the red berries in his hand, creating a breathtaking sight.
"…Not to your liking? Then what would you like to eat, little fox?"
The words "little fox" rolled off his lips, melodious and enchanting. Bi Qing couldn't wait and without hesitation wanted to reply, "You!"
This "eat" is not the same as that "eat."
What makes love so irresistible is that you never know when it will come or if it will leave. Bi Qing's heart raced. The man before her had an ethereal presence; if he consumed hearts, he would become a Fox Demon, and how could she possibly match him?
Thus, Bi Qing nuzzled her head against his hand, determined to cultivate herself well and become a fox spirit.
Whether one becomes a Fox Demon or a fox spirit truly depends on a single thought.
---
A rogue was his defining trait.
"Wow haha, Brother Luo, is that your spirit beast?"
A carefree figure entered Bi Qing's line of sight, causing her fur to stand on end. It was him! Park Ji Jae! The most notorious troublemaker in Chong Qingshan.
Park Ji Jae had been searching for a spirit beast mount to show off in front of others. Many spirit beasts on the mountain had been captured by him, returning with their fur barely intact, looking worn and pitiful.
Until Park Ji Jae found a satisfactory spirit beast mount, all creatures should remain vigilant. Bi Qing cursed herself for forgetting this detail.
Just as she was about to flee, the troublemaker grabbed her tail. "Brother Luo, this Dabai fox isn't yours, is it? Look at it; it's scared enough to run!" Park Ji Jae's ability to fabricate lies was simply masterful.
Luo Dichen looked at Bi Qing's misty Purple Gold eyes and couldn't help but feel sympathy. "Brother Park, it truly is mine."
"It truly is mine... it is mine..." Each word sparkled with light, embedding itself in Bi Qing's heart; her fox heart felt like it was blooming.
But how could the usually gentle Luo Dichen manage Park Ji Jae's audacity? Park Ji Jae shook Bi Qing's chubby body and said, "But look at it; it clearly likes me more—so lively! Dabai fox, let’s go home."
Ignoring Luo Dichen's outstretched arm calling after him, "Brother Park, wait—" his words were lost in the wind as Park Ji Jae had already dashed off several miles away.
As they approached the halfway point of the mountain, Bi Qing seized an opportunity to leap out of Park Ji Jae's embrace.
A gust of cold wind swept by, darkening the sky. The white fox stood in the wind, its body slowly expanding, growing larger and more enchanting.
Only when that fool had to look up at it did Bi Qing stabilize itself and unleash a whirlwind of dust, determined to blow away Park Ji Jae's clothes.
Bi Qing had never realized its magical powers had reached such heights; perhaps it was just that when it was angry, it could perform beyond its usual capabilities.
Of course, it was angry. After all, it was destined to be the Fox Immortal; how could it be reduced to a mere mount for such a worldly scoundrel?
However, unexpectedly, just as Bi Qing was reveling in its own power, Park Ji Jae formed a dust-repelling spell and swiftly drew out a rope from his waist. In an instant, Bi Qing found itself bound. As the rope tightened, its form gradually returned to normal—its only display of might had failed before this fool.
With tears in its eyes, Bi Qing gazed at the clumsy fool who held his pants with one hand and scratched his head with the other, feeling a pang of sorrow: this idiot actually possessed a Demon Binding Rope that took millions of years to form in the heavens, and he was using it as a belt...
With this thought, Bi Qing felt nauseated and squirmed even more vigorously in its bindings.
Park Ji Jae turned around, wedging Bi Qing against his waist as he hurried home while muttering, "So big and so tall! This spirit beast must be so impressive to ride!"
His gleeful expression was truly irritating. Bi Qing opened its mouth to bite his arm but was quickly silenced by Park Ji Jae's sensitive grip.
This was the first time it had been treated so rudely. Its mind involuntarily conjured up the image of the person it had encountered earlier—gentle as jade, with an ethereal presence that matched his name—Luo Dichen.
