After hearing this, my colleagues suddenly understood. They all started asking me for the real reason behind our breakup. I could only laugh helplessly and say we just weren't compatible anymore. But they still didn't believe me.
They kept pressing me about the reason for my breakup. Just as I was at a loss for how to explain, Chen Haotian arrived!
He stood at the entrance of the company, gently calling out, "Wife, it's time to get off work."
I stared at him in shock. "What are you doing here?"
Chen Haotian smiled and said, "I came to pick you up."
It was only then that I noticed he was wearing a suit today! And behind him were several people—senior executives from our company!
I suddenly realized that Chen Haotian was actually the General Manager of our company!
My colleagues were all stunned! They never expected that I would be with the General Manager! Lin Huirong looked particularly pale with shock. Just moments ago, she had mocked me, and now she was like a turtle retreating into its shell, hiding in the corner and too afraid to speak.
The Department Head cautiously approached Chen Haotian and asked, "General Manager, what brings you here?"
Chen Haotian smiled and pointed at me. "I came to pick up my wife."
The Department Head looked at me in disbelief. "Shi Ran, you’re actually the General Manager's wife!"
Feeling a bit embarrassed, I scratched my head and replied, "Yes."
The Department Head glanced nervously at Chen Haotian. "General Manager, are you here for a work inspection?"
Chen Haotian shook his head. "No."
"I just came to pick up my wife."
The Department Head chuckled awkwardly. I stood by, unsure of what to say.
Chen Haotian walked up to me, looking at me gently. "Wife, let's go," he said.
I nodded obediently. "Okay."
After I packed my things, I followed Chen Haotian out of the company.
We went to a high-end women's clothing store together. He picked out a formal outfit for me, saying he hoped I would leave a good impression on my colleagues.
After trying on the new clothes, I felt they looked great. Chen Haotian was also very pleased.
He wrapped his arm around my shoulders, making me feel quite nervous.
I stole glances at Chen Haotian. He was just too handsome! It was hard to look away!
Suddenly, Chen Haotian turned to me and asked, "Wife, what's wrong?"
I blushed and turned my head away. "Nothing."
Chen Haotian smiled and didn't say much more.
Then we returned to his home together. His mother greeted me with great enthusiasm.
She prepared a feast of my favorite dishes. The best among them was the Braised Pork! I absolutely loved it!
