Since teaching a lesson to the bully Liu Hu at school, Liang Tian had gained a bit of fame among his classmates. Many of them shifted their attitude from disdain to admiration, and his interactions with Chen Xue increased significantly. The two often discussed their studies together, and Chen Xue discovered that Liang Tian was not only brave but also had remarkable insights that often left her feeling enlightened.
One evening, the setting sun cast an orange glow over the city. As usual, Liang Tian prepared to walk back to his rental apartment. Passing by a quiet alley, he faintly heard a commotion and the sound of a woman crying for help. Liang Tian's heart raced, and he hurried toward the noise.
As he approached, he saw several thugs surrounding a woman. One of them, with red hair, was reaching out to grab her arm while uttering lewd remarks. To his shock, the woman being harassed was Chen Xue.
Fury surged within Liang Tian. He shouted, "What are you doing!" The thugs were startled by his sudden outburst and turned to face him. The Red-Haired Thug sized Liang Tian up and, seeing his plain clothing, sneered, "Kid, mind your own business and get lost!"
Ignoring the provocation, Liang Tian stepped forward and positioned himself protectively behind Chen Xue. Coldly, he said, "Let her go, or you’ll regret it!" Enraged by the challenge, the Red-Haired Thug waved his hand and ordered his men, "Show this kid what we can do!" The other thugs immediately closed in, cracking their knuckles and preparing to strike.
Liang Tian felt no fear; he activated his Spiritual Energy in preparation for the attack. One thug charged at him first, swinging a punch aimed at Liang Tian's face. Liang Tian sidestepped effortlessly, dodging the blow while simultaneously grabbing the thug's arm and twisting it forcefully. There was a sickening crack as the thug's arm dislocated, causing him to scream in agony.
Seeing their companion in pain, the other thugs rushed forward. Liang Tian employed the agile techniques he had learned in the celestial realm, weaving through the crowd with ease. Each strike he delivered landed precisely on the thugs' vital points. In no time at all, several of them lay sprawled on the ground, groaning in pain.
Realizing the situation was turning against him, the Red-Haired Thug attempted to sneak away. But Liang Tian wouldn’t let him escape; he quickly stepped forward and grabbed him by the collar, lifting him off the ground while shouting angrily, "Trying to run? Not so fast!" The thug's face turned pale with fear as he pleaded for mercy, "Bro, I’m sorry! Please let me go!"
Liang Tian disgustedly threw him to the ground and said sternly, "I'll let you go this time, but don’t let me catch you bullying anyone again!" The thugs scrambled away in panic.
Finally turning to Chen Xue, Liang Tian asked with concern, "Chen Xue, are you okay? Did they hurt you?" Chen Xue looked at him with gratitude and admiration in her eyes and shook her head. "I’m fine, Liang Tian. I owe you one again for saving me today."
Liang Tian smiled lightly and replied, "No need to thank me; I can’t just stand by when I see something like this happening. What were you doing alone in this alley?" Chen Xue sighed and explained, "I was on my way to visit a friend who lives nearby when I ran into those thugs."
As they spoke, they walked out of the alley. The sky was darkening now as streetlights began to illuminate the streets. Looking at Liang Tian with newfound affection in her heart, Chen Xue gathered her courage and said, "Liang Tian, I really can’t thank you enough today. Can I treat you to dinner as a token of my appreciation?"
Liang Tian initially wanted to refuse, but when he saw Chen Xue's sincere gaze, he nodded in agreement. The two of them went to a nearby restaurant, chatting as they ate. Chen Xue discovered that there was always an endless stream of conversation when she was with Liang Tian. His stories of strange and wonderful events felt like a gateway to a new world for her.
After their meal, Liang Tian walked Chen Xue home. When they arrived at her doorstep, Chen Xue shyly said to Liang Tian, "Liang Tian, I had a really great time today. Can I have your contact information? We can keep in touch more often." Liang Tian smiled and nodded, and they exchanged contact details.
As Chen Xue entered her home, Liang Tian turned to leave. At that moment, his heart was filled with warmth. In this unfamiliar city, he had begun to form attachments and had someone he wanted to protect. With his relationship with Chen Xue growing closer and his rising prominence at school, Liang Tian realized that his life in the mortal realm was gradually unfolding a new chapter. He knew that there would be more challenges ahead, but he was ready to face everything bravely, armed with the memories and legacy from the celestial realm.
