Mao Jian slammed his hand on the table in anger.
Xiao Ma and Xiao Li jumped in surprise.
Xiao Li advised, "Mao Jian, don't get upset."
I stared directly into Mao Jian's eyes. "Isn't it true?"
Mao Jian was so furious he couldn't find the words.
He raised his hand.
I stood still.
Mao Jian, exasperated, shouted, "Yu Mingli, don't go too far!"
I raised an eyebrow. "Mao Jian, we’ve already broken up."
"You have no right to control me."
A fierce argument erupted between Mao Jian and me at home.
Mao Jian angrily accused me, "Yu Mingli, you embarrassed me in front of our colleagues!"
I looked at him coldly. "I was just speaking the truth."
Mao Jian was beside himself with rage. "You know my design is not as good as Guo Hua's!"
I retorted, "Isn't that the case?"
Mao Jian's face turned pale with anger.
I scoffed, "Mao Jian, if you can't even manage this much, how can you expect me to praise you?"
Mao Jian was left speechless.
In a fit of rage, he turned and walked away.
I knew he was going to find Ping Ping.
Mao Jian had always been protective of Ping Ping.
Since that's the case, I will grant them their wishes.
The next day, Mao Jian called Ping Ping to his home under the pretense of discussing design plans.
I smiled knowingly and asked, "Mao Jian, why did you invite Ping Ping over?"
Mao Jian replied impatiently, "We're discussing business."
I raised an eyebrow and said, "Is that so?"
Mao Jian glanced at me with a hint of guilt.
Ping Ping, looking uneasy, said, "Sister Yu, please don't misunderstand."
I chuckled, "It's fine, you two carry on."
Mao Jian frowned and asked, "Yu Mingli, what do you mean by that?"
I remained calm and replied, "Aren't you supposed to be discussing the plan?"
"Now that you have the time, make sure to delve into it."
"I support you both."
Mao Jian looked shocked.
Ping Ping appeared equally surprised.
Clearly, they hadn't expected me to be so composed.
I stood up and walked into the kitchen to prepare lunch.
Half an hour later, ambiguous sounds came from the study.
Mao Jian whispered sweetly, "Baby, you're just amazing!"
Ping Ping responded in a delicate tone, "Brother Jian, you're so impressive!"
I walked out of the kitchen holding a plate of food.
The living room was filled with a strange scent.
I glanced at the study door with a half-smile.
They really had a clever plan.
Did they think I didn’t know what they were doing inside?
Mao Jian thought that since Ping Ping came to my house, it would be only natural for her to move in.
Little did they expect me to remain so calm, right?
Since that’s the case, I’ll play along with them.
After lunch, Ping Ping took the initiative to offer to cook.
I looked at her with a smirk, “Ping Ping, you can cook?”
Ping Ping replied proudly, “Of course!”
“My specialty is braised pork.”
“ sister Yu, just wait and see!”
With that, she cheerfully walked into the kitchen.
Mao Jian glanced at me, hesitating to speak.
I smiled and asked, “Mao Jian, what’s wrong?”
Mao Jian replied impatiently, “Nothing!”
With that, he got up and walked into the study.
Ambiguous sounds began to emanate from the study.
Ping Ping was busy in the kitchen.
The aroma wafted into the living room.
I picked up my phone and sent a message to Guo Hua: "Has everything been taken care of?"
Guo Hua replied, "Don't worry."
"Everything is going smoothly."
I smiled to myself.
The show was about to begin.
Ping Ping prepared four dishes and a soup.
They were all visually appealing and delicious.
Mao Jian attentively took care of her in the kitchen.
He didn't glance at me even once throughout the process.
I didn't mind.
It was rare to have some leisure time.
I leisurely ate some fruit while scrolling through my phone.
Occasionally, I glanced at the kitchen.
Mao Jian held a piece of watermelon up to Ping Ping's lips.
Ping Ping playfully said, "Brother Jian, feed me!"
Mao Jian indulgently replied, "Sure!"
After saying that, he leaned in and took a bite of the watermelon.
Then, he fed the piece of watermelon into Ping Ping's mouth.
The two gazed at each other with affection, oblivious to anyone else around them.
