In the early hours of the night, the forest was silent, and the moonlight gently fell on the faces of the search and rescue team. "It's late, let's go back. We've been searching for so long, I reckon the person is probably gone," one team member said, shrugging. "You're right," another member said, "My wife is still waiting for me to come home."
"Team One, Team One, this is Second Team. No signs of life and no valuable clues found, over." A team member spoke into the walkie-talkie before turning to leave with another person.
In the bushes, a pair of eyes quietly watched the team turn away. "Damn it! It's autumn and there are still mosquitoes!" Zhao Xinsheng muttered under his breath, slapping his thigh sharply.
He stood up and glanced down at the search and rescue team's camp at the foot of the mountain. It was still brightly lit, with sparse figures moving about. Once he was sure the team had left, Zhao Xinsheng stepped out from the dense underbrush, impatiently wiping away the spider webs from his face.
He has been waiting for this group of people to leave for more than four hours. He has never thought about sleeping, but his life is in Mie Litter's hands. Just thinking about that terrifying giant, Zhao Xinsheng trembles all over.
These days, he doesn't know how he has survived. Every day, he sleeps in a cave with the four-armed giant Mie Litter, tossing and turning without daring to fall asleep; every day, he wakes up to Mie Litter's roar, making choices between life and death.
Zhao Xinsheng feels like a puppet, because due to the search and rescue team needing to go up the mountain during the day, he gets up early in the morning to find the staff of life, and then sleeps with Mie Litter during the day - this is simply not a life that an ordinary person can imagine.
Like the search and rescue team, the hope of surviving for Zhao Xinsheng became increasingly slim as they approached River Center. Over the past few days, even Mie Litter felt it was impossible. Only Zhao Xinsheng was still struggling to survive because he wanted to live.
Today is the last day approaching River Center. If they continue upstream, they will go beyond the agreement Mie Litter made with Zhao Xinsheng to split up.
Zhao Xinsheng weakly flips over rocks, walking barefoot in the stream. The further he goes, the less motivation he has. "It's useless, it's all over. It's all fake," Zhao Xinsheng closes his eyes, feeling the cold autumn stream flow down his ankles, the wind blowing and gradually extinguishing the last ember of hope in Zhao Xinsheng's heart.
Zhao Xinsheng walked to the shore, thinking about whether to take Mie Litter and run to the rescue team if he wasn't there. He stared at the flowing stream, lost in thought, recalling Mie Litter's warning: "If you dare to return to human society, I will dare to go to human society and kill you." Suddenly, a wave of fear surged through him once again. As his vision cleared, Zhao Xinsheng realized that something was not right.
"Huh?"
He squatted down and carefully watched the water flow. Clearly, the water was flowing downstream, but some of it was flowing upstream! "Strange?" Zhao Xinsheng felt that he must have been mistaken, reached out his hand into the stream, and indeed, truly and clearly, Zhao Xinsheng felt that there was water moving upstream.
Zhao Xinsheng stood up and walked along the water flow.
The water flowing against the current became more and more obvious, gradually bending, and finally, Zhao Xinsheng found a whirlpool in the water!
Next to the whirlpool were several huge rocks stacked together, exposed above the water's surface. "Could it be..." Zhao Xinsheng suddenly became excited. He ran down the stream, laughing, and began to move the rocks. However, no matter how hard he tried, the rocks were as immovable as if they were rooted in the ground.
Zhao Xinsheng felt very strange and didn't know what was going on.
"What should I do?" Zhao Xinsheng felt somewhat helpless.
He sat back on the bank, contemplating and pondering over these stones. His fate might be right underneath them.
At this moment, he remembered something. He reached into his pocket and touched it, saying, "Maybe, it's not impossible..." In a distant cave, Mie Litter idly tapped his thigh, lost in thought. Suddenly, his eyes widened. Mie Litter stood up and looked towards the dark forest. "Is he calling for me?"
Zhao Xinsheng held the stone, nervously looking around.
Nothing happened.
"Tsk, trying to fool me." Zhao Xinsheng threw the stone on the ground.
Just at this moment, the time portal opened behind him. Mie Litter walked out from inside and looked down at the flustered Zhao Xinsheng. "You... you finally came!" Zhao Xinsheng stepped back step by step. Mie Litter looked at him and asked, "What's wrong, did you find it?"
"There's... a possibility." Zhao Xinsheng pointed to the whirlpool in the water, "There are many large rocks over there, seems to be pressing something. And, and that whirlpool, very strange. I think, that's it. But I can't lift it up."
Mie Litter stepped forward, half-knelt down to take a look, and actually grinned, "It's not that you think, this is it."
"The Life Wand contains extremely strong energy, it can attract surrounding objects like a black hole, just like a magnet. That's why you can't lift it, without some strength, you really can't pick it up."
Mie Litter said as he walked down the stream, gripping a stone with both hands and exerting force. The liquid in Mie Litter's body began to flow faster, and the stone on his body started to roll continuously. "Ah!" Mie Litter shouted loudly, then lifted the stone up. "Mighty, so mighty!" Zhao Xinsheng clapped and shouted.
Then, one by one, Mie Litter threw the stones onto the shore. Suddenly, Mie Litter felt a lightness under his feet, and the ground gradually collapsed, as if it could no longer support Mie Litter's weight.
Mie Litter was shocked and tried to run out, but it was too late. Mie Litter fell down like that.
"Great!" Zhao Xinsheng felt a weight lifted off his heart. He ran to the edge of the cave and looked down, thinking it was a bottomless pit, but God played him once again. Mie Litter didn't die; he was just standing in the soil below, with waves of green flowing inside like the aurora. It seemed to be a pit.
"You come down, Zhao Xinsheng," Mie Litter said, "Your life is guaranteed."
"What? This..." Zhao Xinsheng couldn't believe it himself. But soon, he also became excited, "I can live, I can live!"
He jumped down, struggled to stand up after falling to the ground, "Where is it?" Zhao Xinsheng excitedly raised his hands, Mie Litter looked back at him like he was a fool, and Zhao Xinsheng realized that he had lost control and quickly withdrew his hands, "Great, you finally got it."
Mie Litter raised the glowing green life wand, carefully examining it in his hand. "I knew it, relying solely on that old man Yuan Zun won't revitalize our Stone Giant Clan. This heavy responsibility ultimately falls on me! Let's go, Zhao Xinsheng, we are heading out. I am going to create an era for the Stone Giants!"
"But my task is already... already complete..." Zhao Xinsheng stammered.
"No! You need to help me find a place with something very hard," Mie Litter said, kneeling down so that his face was almost touching Zhao Xinsheng's.
"Okay... okay, as long as you can keep me alive." Zhao Xinsheng trembled all over again.
7 AM
"Are you sure about this?"
"Oh my, believe me, Dr. Xu, although this map is indeed a bit hard to understand..."
Liu Xuan and Xu Yicheng walked on the mountain road, and they had been arguing for almost an hour because of Mr. Song's simple and rough line expression. Although there was only one river, this mountain was really difficult to walk.
"This should be the middle section," Liu Xuan wiped his sweat and pointed to the red circle in the center of the map.
"Then we are now at..."
"I can't take it anymore, let me lead the way." Nars finally lost his patience and switched out of Liu Xuan's body. "Isn't it just a matter of going straight to the upper right corner? Yicheng, this way. Liu Xuan, I'll handle the leading from now on." Xu Yicheng looked at this person in front of him, unsure of how to address him, and couldn't help but chuckle. "I guess those two must have started arguing," Xu Yicheng thought to himself with a smile.
After passing through a thicket filled with red berries, the two arrived by the stream. The large rock on the bank was too conspicuous, and soon they reached the spot where Zhao Xinsheng and Mie Litter had been earlier that morning.
"Oh no, they've already..." Nars walked to the entrance of the cave and looked inside, the water was almost filling up the hole.
"What do we do? My mission is to get the magic wand!" Xu Yicheng exclaimed in shock.
"The mission has changed now. It's not about getting the magic wand, it's about taking it back!" Nars said seriously, looking at him.
"A new cycle, if they use it to create some kind of monster, that would be troublesome." Xu Yicheng looked towards the city at the foot of the mountain, "But where will he go?"
Xu Yicheng took out a stone and summoned it, soon a Time portal opened, and Aibo appeared behind Xu Yicheng.
"Aibo, the staff of life has been taken away, you must tell me the giant's purpose. Only then will I have a chance to reverse all of this!" Xu Yicheng frowned.
Aibo half knelt down and just said two words to him:
"Murder."
"City?!" Nars and Xu Yicheng reacted in unison. Xu Yicheng clenched his fists and looked at Nars.
