I didn’t keep track of how many smacks I gave; all I knew was that Hua Yu Yan was looking at me with tear-filled eyes before lowering her head. A hint of a smile appeared on her lips, though I didn’t see it.
Uh-oh! It seemed like I had gone too far.
"Yu Yan, I didn’t mean it; it must be the lingering effects of that medicine. Yes, that’s it! Let me help you ease the pain."
I swear! I wasn’t being lewd; I genuinely wanted to help her feel better—nothing more.
As my hand reached out, Hua Yu Yan immediately grabbed it and looked up at me with flushed cheeks. Her gaze was almost dreamy as she asked, "Brother Zhao Lun, so you like this?"
No, I'm not.
In an instant, she covered my mouth, preventing me from continuing.
